Location
     A Chinese restaurant located in a basement in Los Angeles. The majority of its business is takeoout/delivery ordered over the internet. The name is a play on the late premier of China, Deng Xiaoping.

DRAKE, Kieran
NPC
     Owner of West End Books. Kieran is the son of an unnamed Amberite and a daughter of Duke Ossus of House Wystan.

NATANA, Blake
NPC
     Bouncer, bartender, and partner at The Nest. Blake has an impressive set of Maori tattoos upon his arms and torso.

NEST, The
Location
     Bar/Arcade owned by Imogen. Located in Culver City, California, on Shadow Earth.

NICHELLINI, Lt. Pete
NPC
     Los Angeles Police Officer. Part of a protection racket, possibly more.
     (Nichellini's last name is taken from a Vallejo, California who was fired after being investigated for tampering with evidence in an officer-involved shooting.)

OSSUS, Duke
NPC
     Head of House Wystan and Kieran Drake's foster father.

SHAULA
Location
     A small emirate in the Golden Circle.

SHAYERA of House Jardiniere
NPC
     Lady Shayera is the official Envoy to Amber from the Courts of Chaos. Described as a cross between Flora, Fiona, and Lucrezia Borgia.
     Has the nickname of, ‘The Black Widow,’ suggesting her Chaos form is arachnid in nature.
     (I envision her looking like Anne Bancroft in The Graduate.)

THUBAN
Location
      A small principality along the Golden Circle. Thuban has a proud military tradition and is often at odds with its neighbors over a perceived slight.

WEST END BOOKS
Location
      A bookstore in Culver City, California. The store is on the first floor, and Kieran Drake's loft-style apartment on the second.
      In actuality, the bookstore is Kieran's personal ways and located in the Courts of Chaos.


WYSTAN, House
      A moderately prominent House whose fortunes waned when all of Duke Ossus' sons were killed in the fighting at Patternfall, leaving him with nine daughters.
