Contributions / Advancement
CONTRIBUTIONS
I believe in game contributions. However, it's very common for players to produce a single story or piece of artwork, and that's it.
So, we'll approach it in a different manner. Instead of 10 points awarded in advance, players earn points per submitted item. These points will be awarded monthly in the same manner as advancement/experience.
1 point - per item
1 point - item(s) represent or further inform understanding character (easy)
1 point - item(s) are of modest length (story) or craftsmanship (artwork)
Examples:
Bob submits one 3D model of a character. He earns 1 point for the submission, plus up to 2 additional points.
Phoebe submits three illustrations. She earns 1 point for each sketch, plus up to 2 additional points.
ADVANCEMENT
Since play-by-post can be slower than an in-person/live session, predicating experience awards on characters achieving goals can take forever. Players will be receiving:
1 point per month for participation
1 point awarded by the GM for good roleplay/writing (easy to earn)
1 point awarded by player vote for good roleplay/writing (if there's no clear recipient, the award will be held over until the next month)
Points earned for stories/artwork
A player is likely to earn at least 2 points per month. Consistent contributions could push that up to 8 points.
Points may also be awarded for completing character quizzes.
Please be sure to submit a Wish List for your character via PM. If you're new to Amber Diceless, here's how it works. Players submit a list of things they want, in the order they want them, and note if they're willing to accept Bad Stuff for each item; accepting Bad Stuff is a yes/no question, not an amount. Getting items on your list ends when you don't have the points or decline Bad Stuff.
