House Rules
1. Posting Frequency
Players are expected to post at least once a week.
Missing two consecutive weeks without notification will result in losing the participation award for the month.
Missing a third week without notification will result in your character being written out of the game.
Example:
Hey, I've got finals coming up this week, I'm not going to be around until next Monday.
2. Player Agency
Stopping for every 'yes' or 'no' or 'Lucas follows you' can be problematic. You may write simple actions for other player characters - if you raise your glass, you can write that someone joins you in your toast.
Players may not write actions that put other player characters in jeopardy, ascribe emotion, make significant committments, or presume consent in any intimate situation.
3. Time Out
A player may invoke a Time Out for purposes of clarification or issues of concern.
Examples:
"Time Out! I am personally, deathly afraid of spiders, can we use something else or move on, please?"
"Time Out! Didn't Kyrie take care of this already? Or did I misread something?"
"Time Out! Can Tybalt actually reach the McGuffin? I thought he was on the other side of the hall."
4. Be Respectful
Or, as Patrick Swayze says in Road House, 'Be nice.'
Work with everyone to tell our story. As with improvisational theater, build on what is being offered, and help other players to make strong choices.
Concerns? Use a Time Out, or talk to me in a PM first.
