It is hard to tell if the group got the salvage rights to the constructs but the gnome is well known. After getting the group together, they head for the temple of Sarenrae. It seems like the ground stays where it should. No rust monsters coming up to vist. Most people seem calm and collected like nothing happened. After about 15 minutes they get to the temple. It has a large fence and gate. No one seems to be outside.

Bucko looks the place over and whistles....

"Some kind o big house yous has to shares...."

Isaac goes up to the gate and levers it wide. Waving everyone through, he says "All are welcome into Sarenrae's healing embrace, my friends. Once inside, I'll introduce you to the attending priests and we can try and find out if they've been dealing with any plague or the like. I have doubts, since if there was such an event I would expect far more activity here." To Bucko he adds, "It's shared with everyone, so it kind of HAS to be big."

Brokk takes in the area around them as Isaac invite them in. "Yeah, really is a big place you guys have here Isaac.  I'll keep my hands in my pockets!"

"I imagine it is beautiful inside.  And all are welcome, which is such a loving idea.  My Lady would approve.  A place of beauty, surrounded by those who are embraced with love.  What a fantastic place to be!"

Clearly, the fact that this was not her temple did not bother her.

Bucko slings his musket across his back and covers the butt end with the top of his cloak...

"Xander tolds Bucko that poor box is to give to poor, does not mean if you is poor you should take the box of coins."

Bucko heads in behind the paladin...

The door opens up into a coved interior. Its relatively small, with four areas off to the sides with closed doors. Inside, there are greenery hanging from all directions. A few pews stretch out and in the center is a small area probably for the priest. Sitting down in front of it is a gnome who smiles as she sees Isaac "Welcome! I'm Pike Trickfoot, cleric of Sarenrae. How can I help you?" She smiles and stands up but is only about 3 to 4' tall, with no armor but she has the Sarenrae symbol across her chest "Been awhile Isaac. How are you?"

Isaac genuflects to his Goddess for a moment before answering. "Pike, my dear friend! Life has been well and a bit lively, of late. We've come seeking knowledge instead of healing, bless Sarenrae. Have you heard or had to help people contaminated by a disease of some kind, lately? We've heard rumours of something of the sort sweeping through areas of the city." the paladin says, "Given some other events that have recently happened, we're thinking it may be the actions of an enemy."

Kisaiya puts her feet together and manages a very formal bow.  "On behalf of my Lady of Beauty, I bid you good will and thanks for your welcome of us to this, your temple."

She smiles.  "Dear Lady Trickfoot, I bid you welcome.  I am Priestess Kisaiya Loranain, servant of Shelyn, The Eternal Rose.  And may I say what a wonderful place you have for worship.  I do hope you can assist us."

Brokk gives the Gnome a wave and puts his hands back in his pocket.  "I'm Brokk here with Isaac.  And don't worry, I won't touch nuthin'!"

Bucko finds himself staring at nothing but the ladies feet, trying to figure out which one is fake or misleading or maybe she trips people with...

"Which foot cans be trusted?"

The gnome gives the goblin a odd look as she can't figure out why Bucko is staring at her feet. She shakes her head "Disease? Nothing out of the ordinary. Why do you ask? Is something wrong?" She seems concerned.

Xander pulls out a picture and holds it out to Pike "Have you seen this person around?" Right to the point.

Pike leans forwards "Nope, can't say I have. Isaac? You seem to be well unarmored."

"Rust bugs eats thems....."

Bucko busrts out with a bit of a snort a bit on the loud side....

He slaps both hands over his mouth looking around remembering how most places like it quiet...

With a sigh, he answers her "We encountered a few rust monsters in the streets recently and they decided to munch on my plate. The creatures were not terribly difficult to dispatch, and it turns out they were not natural creatures but constructs able to mimic the special chemicals that destroy metals. While it's not my priority, if the Goddess or the Temple sees fit to provide me with something suitable, I'd be thankful."
" Other than that, there was a rumour of a plague of sorts spreading through the lower quarters. I'd have expected our Temple would be up to our elbows in curing such a thing so that is the main reason we came here. If you've not heard anything, then I'm not sure where the rumour originated."

"These creatures came of the earth, but were summoned.  Someone wants to spread their disease.  Some are rust monsters, attacking those in armor.  Some may carry disease.  But they are not a growth, they are summoned.  Some evil spirit wants them to attack the people, to cause fear and death.  And we need to stop them."

The young woman looked at the Priestess, then at Issac.  "I know I sound crazy, but this is not a fluke.  Someone, something, wants to kill.  And we need to stop it."

Brokk continues to keep his hands in his pockets as the other converse.  "Somethings really wrong around here.  Not right here but, here in the city.  This is the second time me and Bucko have been attacked by these machines and my bosses store was also attacked.  He's not happy about it either."

The gnome listens to all the tales and seems rather surprised "Rust monsters? Here? If you didn't see them I would say it never happened. I will see if I can find out more of this plague and constructs but it may take time." Pike crosses her chest and seems somewhat worried "Anyone injured? And for the armor let me see. We may have some." She moves out of the room and after a few moments she walks back in carrying what looks like a breastplate "I bet this will help! Here try it on." She holds it out to the paladin "Is it possible some constructs went awry? Or not likely? I know the ones who use them keep them in tip top condition but having them attack without warning, that is indeed troublesome."

The mage goes to say something when Brokk mentioned himself and the goblin got attacked but he stops. And the cleric picks up on it "You weren't the only people that got attacked, Brokk. I'm standing right here and I don't like to be ignored."

Pike blinks at the mages 'retaliation' and she walks up to him and goes to put her hand on his shoulder "Relax. I can see if anyone has seen your friend. It is the least I can do. And if you feel the plague is real, the people here can do something about it."

Taking a deep breath, the mage sighs and sits down nodding his head to Pike.

Rubbing her chin, she looks at each of them "Wait how can they be summoned from the earth all the way up here? They are constructs so they must be made I think. Sorry I know little of constructs. And maybe none has reached the temple with the plague. And is your boss in trouble? Or safe for now? Goodness." She seems young for a gnome but wants to help.

Xander draws up something and holds it out to Pike. She looks at it "Marked with a R? That seems odd." Pike retreats back and leans on the alter "Well where do you work? I can go there and check it out and I can send word to the others here what to look for. If something is endangering this city, we should find out. Oh! Servant of Shelyn? Maybe  her temple can help out. More the merrier. And I am sure my friends can help out."

Xander looks at the picture of his friend and tucks it away as well as the picture of the 'R'. He looks at Bucko and motions for the goblin to sit with him above the ground. He looks at Pike "I'd appreciate it and all you are doing." Obviously something is bothering him and when something bothers a elf its not good.

In reply to Gamemaster (msg # 17):
A look of anger washes across Brokk's face at the comment about forgetting Xander.  He goes to snap at him, his finger pointed at the mage.  He stops, takes a step back taking a breath.  "Look, I didn't mean to exclude you.  Nothing personal man.  You've been trying to help us and I forgot.  Sorry."

Bucko Joins Xander on the float....

"Xander put Bucko up out reach o rust bugs, an they got blasted tah tha smithereenees"

Isaac immediately dons the armour, sighing as he once again is encased in his metal. "Much obliged Pike. A bit lighter but that should help if I meet some more of these creations. If you do intend to check out any location other than a temple, allow us to accompany you. We may bring unwanted attention upon you."

"So as noted, who could be doing this?  There must be someone doing it, and I think walking the streets is the best idea.  We certainly won't find them lurking here, will we?" She waits.

Bucko scratches his head as he thinks and thinks and thinks....

"Bucko not thinks he knows anyone who does this, Bucko knows lots of people who fish and buy fish, but no one Bucko think of is good suspects."

"No need to worry about me, Isaac. I will be fine alright? Stay as long as you wish." Pike smiles and pets the warrior's arm "I will see what information I can gather up. If they are looking for you is it not wise for me to travel alone?"

The mage is trying to figure out what the 'float' is. He's sitting on a pew. Even for the mage, trying to know what Bucko is saying is rather hard. He sighs. The elf watches the goblin for a moment "Yes I made you float really high. And Brokk? Trying to help you?" He shakes his head, gripping the picture and then putting it into his cloak "I agree with Kisaiya."

"Nah, kissya's right.  We won't find anyone here," Brokk says in agreement.

Bucko takes the pause in the conversation to mean it is time for something to happen, he first thinks time to leave and then thinks of food.....
"Time to leave?  Do they has foods here?"

Nodding to Pike, Isaac says "Very well, we'll proceed with Kisaiya's idea, for lack of anything better. Thanks again for the aid, my friend!"

"So you are going to leave and see where it brings you? I'm not a detective but I'd saY check out the slums. No one here has heard of the plaque but doesn't mean it isn't there. As for the constructs could check out the junkyard. Oh and there's several places that sell parts for them. I'll talk to your boss, Brokk soon. And Isaac? You came here asking for armor and then you want to immediatly leave? This isn't a armory." Pike crosses her arms and stares up at the man trying to look tough. But she ends up smiling.

Kisaiya watched the interplay, and while enjoying the support, it made her think.

"You know, she is right, in many ways.  As in staying here is not going to solve our difficulties, then running around the city willy-nilly will not help us either.  Yes, the slums are a great place to do nastiness and hide it.  And our Priestess is correct, you cannot build automatons from dirt, you must have materials.  And I add a third idea, where you must find those who know how to do this, and I suspect wizardry.  Is there a guild here?  Or a place where they do things together?  All of this speaks of wizardry. alchemy, mechanical manipulation, and a hint of necromancy.  Make a map, go place to place, eliminate what does not work."

She winked at Sir Isaac.  "And no man or woman leaves a temple without some form of thanks for gifts.  Am I not right?"

In reply to Pike Trickfoot (msg # 27):

"It can't helped, Pike," He says sadly, "People are being hurt from both the constructs and this plague. I can't sit still to chat while there are lives in danger. Once I've settle some of these things, I'll be back and we'll have time to relax." To Kisaiya he adds, "We have to focus on a single task at a time. Too many distractions and we'll be weakened and lose all of them. I've say slums for our first goal, and try to resolve their illness or whatever it is, since they are hurting more immediately."

Kisaiya nodded.  "Good thinnking, Isaac.  I too would want to help those most effected first.  So, we should get started."

She gave a bow.  "Thank you, Priestess Pike.  Your blessed assistance is appreciated."

With that, she secured her glaive and adjusted her armor to show herself at her best so they could leave.

Brokk nods, "Isaac is a smart guy.  I'm with you."

Brokk reaches into his pouch belt and looks for a donation plate and drops (4) GP into it

Bucko munches on a bit of hard crusty biscuit of some sort as the others brandish many many  words....He looks back and forth as  they speak in turn, as he understands it they are trying to figure out what the right thing is to do.

Bucko holds up two fingers....
"Bucko say all we need to knows it what now and what next."

"Apparently I mentioned it yet Isaac gets the credit. Shall we all bow to the mighty paladin for telling you where you should go? Is this how it works? Someone gets the credit when someone else has the idea leaving the person behind. I don't think that's how leadership works." Oh Pike is mad. She crosses her arms, staring at the group "And I do not know how constructs are formed. But most I have seen were metal. There's wizards guild throughout the city but finding the right one if they are even behind it could be hard." She taps her chin "You may have to take out several things at once, Isaac. Because when a task is done, the others will be pushing ahead." For a young cleric, she is pretty intelligence.

Xander stares at the group, look like he's studying it which is odd. He stands up, bows to Pike and glances at the others "Well there are several wizard guilds but they keep it a secret on what they focus on if anything at all. It would take time even if it is possible. It liks like what humans call it 'Men time? Or rather woman time?' I could be wrong but most of what occurs remains with people involved." He takes a deep breath.

Bucko notes the lady seems to be upset about something, he smiles and attempts to hand her a wandermeal cake, which tasted fine to him, but most goblins hated...
He bows...
"We not means to bothers err upsets you nice lady."

Stepping to the Priestess, Isaac says "What would you have me do, Pike? I didn't think you'd want to come with us on an unknown, and leave your post here at Temple. If you wanted to join our half-lost venture you are more than welcome. We've spent the better part of two days just searching for direction and now that we have it we want to head there arrow-straight."

He is right, Lady Priestess.  But I would ask, do you have any other ideas?  I Admit that going to the slums to assist those are sick is always a fine idea, but if you have heard anything else, or have further wonderful ideas, I would love to hear them.  There is evil in this city, and I wish it stopped."

"And yet it seems you ignored what I just said, Isaac. Two days? It seems like the wizard knows where to go and yet because you didn't think it was important, it was shrugged off. It isn't all about you, Isaac. Sarenrae bounds up and protects us. Yet you aren't sure of where to go or what to do and yet it seeems you ended up doing it. I don't want to scold you my friend. Far from it but it seems like everyone is looking to you for leadership." She goes to place her hands on Isaac's chest "There is no harm in asking everyone what their views on it and accept it. Learn from it. At this rate, the goblin doesn't have a clue.  Oddly the wizard needs a friend adn wants to find who he seeks. He seems to be grumpy
"She motions to Brokk "Not too sure of the cleric. I got a mission, don't worry about me. Find out about the plague, the constructs. Anything that seems odd. Check out the slums or the junkyard. Maybe tbe docks. Go on, Isaac." She removes her small hands, puts a hand on the head of the goblin and waits.

"Brokk ain't no leader!  I'm better being told what to do with being granted some leverage from you guys in certain situations.  I say we go to the slums first like we talked about," Brokk says addressing the group.

"I didn't say you were, Brokk. I was talking to Isaac. Sorry about that." Pike  takes a deep breath "I can check around for information. And I think checking out the sluns is a good idea. Bothers me I haven't heard about the plague if there is one but if it happened in the slums, that could be a valid reason." She tries to remain calm and sits down on the ground "So I can get you some food before you leave. The goblin looks like he can eat his boot!" The gnome smiles, rubs her feet and stands up "I'm not trying to get on anyones cases, been through this before. Oh it was bad. People flying around, everyone yelling. And chickens were thrown! Yes you heard me. Chickens and arrows." What the....?

Brokk puts up a non-threatening hand to Pike, "It's OK Pike, no need to be sorry for speaking your mind.  I'm not offended.  Just wanted to let Isaac & Kissya know where I stand.  I would be happy to follow either of them."

Isaac nods at Pike's statement, "It bothers me, as well. Notice of any true disease should have reached your ears far before we did. I suspect it's something else at play we need to discover."
On her mention of food, he responds, "I'm not sure you stock enough vittles to fill our friend, but I'm sure he'll be happy to try. I appreciate your feeding us before we head out. I'd love to hear the chicken story, someday, Pike. Sounds chaotic for certain!"
Turning to the group, he continues, "You heard my friend. Let's break our fast then on to the slums!"

"That sounds wonderful!  Thank you, Priestess.  Perhaps after eating we will be better prepared to head out."

Truly, food sounded wonderful.  She was not sure when she last ate.

Bucko had his hands held so that his thumbs and pointer fingers formed a triangle, that he was looking through at distant objects as if he is looking for things to shoot at and checking the range, without taking his musket out at all.....

The group waits and Pike comes out with basically bags full of food for each person. Really they are rations but good ones. Perhaps magical ones but hard to tell. She pulls up her hood, fastens it and turns to leave "I will return later on, hopefully with informations reguarding this plague."

"Thank you, Pike.  Guys, wanna head out? We should hopefully get something done before it gets dark.  Or something else pops up out of the ground to get us."

Hoisting her Glaive, she ran her hand over her hair to smooth it down, then headed for the door.

"Yes, let's stick to the first plan and head to the slums. Those poor people there already have enough burdens on their lives without adding some pernicious disease." Isaac says, also leaving the temple after saying a brief prayer.

"Miss Pike has anti-plagues in case we finds sick hoomans?"

Bucko smiles at the lady and hopes that the other lady does not get jealous..

Nodding, Isaac answers, "I have every confidence that Pike and her fellow priests can eradicate any disease we discover and bring to their attention. My Goddess already protects me against such things, so it would be a trivial matter for her chosen disciples to do the same. We just need to see if there actually is a disease, first."

Once everyone is set, they head to the slums. Xander adjusts his cloak, watching the area. Not sure of where this plague was started from or who started it if anyone, Bucko leads them to a old tavern where he sells his goods at times if he doesn't get up to the 'upper areas'. The keep, a burly orc watches them. Not a half-orc, but a full blown orc. Theres two others within the dreary tavern but its hard to tell who or what they are as they are within a shadowy booth.

Bucko moves forward towards the destination, and approaches the barkeeper...

he lays some coins and holds up finger for each of his companions.

Not usually too observant at the best of times, nonetheless Isaac takes a look around at the patrons to see if any of them show signs of illness or unusual disease.

Kisaiya walked hesitantly into the bar, knowing her beauty would attract attention.  She looked around to see reactions, then walked up to join her companions. Her eyes were busy as she didn't order, but looked around the room.  She leaned her glaive against the bar, resting her gloved hand on the bar edge.

Kisaiya Loranain rolled 20 using 1d20+3.  Perception.

Bucko notices the two orcs in the booth and holds up two more fingers and send a couple of drinks their way...

"Wants to make sures everybody bees happys."

The orc spits on the ground and watches the paladin and cleric "We don't like yer kind here. Why are yer here?" Despite his antics he does grab the ale for them and pours them into six glasses. His eyes narrow as the cleric glances around and watches the two at a table in the shadows. Xander watches the orc, looking down at his cup for a moment "You want them to leave, then tell me what we want to know and I will personally take them outside and rip them apart. You can have the leftovers." Obviously he's bluff right? His eyes narrow on the innkeeper who then looks at the elf and he laughs The innkeeper pockets Bucko's money and leans back "Whatcha want to know?" The innkeeper watches the cleric and paladin, as well as the two sitting at the table. One of them reaches at his side and the keeper shakes his head. The shadowy two people put their hands on the table grabbing their drinks.

Bucko spits too...

"Most whoomans is stupids but these whoomans is not bad likes other whoomans, they is Bucko's friends.  Wes lookin for people getting sick, and fer some crazy machines tha trin to kills Bucko."

Bucko points at himself with his thumb

Brokk takes a drink from his glass and returns it to the bar.  "They're here to help, not hurt anyone.  They good people!"

Kisaiya's eyes meet the men in the shadows, and her hand grips her glaive a hit harder.  She shifts her weight, ready to fight if needed, and showing she was not afraid.  She made no other move, just met the challenge with her own.

She steps forward to take her glass, taking a deep drink and trying not to make a face at the taste.  "As my deadly little friend says, looking for people who are getting sick, like a lot of people, and looking for constructs, creatures that should not exist that are killing."

She reaches in her pouch and removes several silver pieces and lays them on the bar.  It is clear there are more in her hand.

"You have any information on that?"

Isaac merely remains silent for now, trying to look friendly and helpful, hand resting peacefully on his swordhilt.

Xander lets them do their work, watching each person one by one. He leans against a column.

The keep scratches his dirty chin and holds a hand towards the cleric "Maybe I can help yer out but it'll cost more then your friend gave us.I can make a deal with yah. There be a package I want. You retrieve it and bring it back here in one piece, and I will help yah out. Oh an' one more thing eh?"

Leaning forwards, his eyes narrow "He ain' seen deadly."

Apparently, he hasn't met this group-Xander ponders.

As an aside to Xander, Isaac quietly says "Another distraction from our task? I suppose if we get it done quickly, it won't cost too many lives. I'm curious - if I checked for evil here, how many do you think would glow for me?" he adds with a grin.

Bucko shakes his head back and forth signaling what he knows is no...

"Bucko smart enough not to walk straight into ambush by bushwackers....Probably some person yous afraid to collect yer debt from."


Bucko gets up to leave....
"Yous help, you help, if nots helps, be seein yah!"

"I guess as long as you don't make it obvious, what could it hurt?" Brokk says to Isaac.

He looks back to the barkeep, "Where is it and who has it?"

Kisaiya frowned.  "Not enough.  Fair enough."  She put her other coins back in her pouch and stepped away.  A she did, she kept her glaive in her hand and looked each and every man in the place in the eye.  Her gaze was of strength.  Her Goddess taught love, but love usually was strong, and her eyes said she was not weak.  And if they dared, they would be sorry.

She moved to the door to wait the others.

"Bloody good for nothin' goblin. Geezus..." The orc watches as the group converse and after some time and the conversation is over, he motions for them to come over.

Xander is silent, still leaning against the column. Its hard to say if he will go with them. Plagues. Constructs. And now this? He just simply nods listening to them and when he sees the  orc goes over to them.

"So yah going to go eh? Trust me I can hear yah. So, I want you to get there to the docks see? The shipment was in transit an' the guards caught wind of it. Not sure what happened but I haven't seen the carrier so probably caught. Yah have to find a way to get the shipment and bring it back here. Oh and I know its weight, whats inside an' trust me yah don't want to open it. Do this an' get it back here yah'll get what yah want." The orc spits into a cup. And the other two just watch them intently "If yah see them they got tattoos on the right arms. Looks like this." He jots down what it looks like:

Once the group leaves the bar, Isaac says "I didn't want to say anything inside that place, and certainly not with Mr. bat-ears-bartender in range, but if this shipment was siezed by the guards from some criminals attempting to break import laws, you'll have to count me out on retrieving it. Committing a crime to get information we should be able to get via other means is not something I'm willing to do. Also, the whole 'yah don't want to open it'" He mocks, " implies something far worse than just illegal arms or the like. Can we try a different tack to find out about the plague, instead, and let his carrier and hopefully him rot?"

Bucko shrugs....

"Not does nothing without knows what it is do."

Kisaiya looked a little uneasy. "I am not good with this, but if it leads us to the problem, My Goddess is all about truth, however it is taken.  So if we do this, and it leads us to the truth, what harm does it do?"

She flipped her hair back, showing she was willing to do whatever it took.

Shrugging, the Paladin answers, "I'm sure we'll find out, at some point. Okay, I'm game to at least see what this entails and make judgement at an appropriate time once we do. "

Bucko nods his head enthusiastically...
"We goes now?"

After the deal is made with the barkeep, Xander steps outside with the others and pulls up his hood. His cat sits on his shoulder as he leans on his staff "We should be weary. I noticed his tattoo-thieves guild. Maybe he was telling the truth but I doubt it. He just wants the package, I don't believe he cares how we get it. And I prefer we do it legal if possible."

Brokk decides to head back to the gear shop as he seems concerned about his boss. He bids the group farewell.

"Very well. Wary and alert, as well as suspicious and critical of this cargo. Shall we proceed apace?" Isaac shifts his new armour on his shoulders as he waits to continue.

"Let us go.  Watch careful, and realize that even a Goddess of Love knows that hate exists around the corner.  So do I.  Go careful, and if I die protecting you, so be careful."

She held her Glaive high, watching.

Bucko strokes the muzzle of his musket....
"Ifs we finds troubles we will blast it."

"Trying to have a conversation with you is like talking to my cat. You understand that right Bucko? We can tell you to not blast people but you probably won't listen hence a waste of time and frustration. And we'll end up getting mad at you Bucko. You don't want that right? So if one or all of us tell you not to blow someone up, listen please." The elf watches this strange goblin. Strange seeing as the two of them are getting along and not trying to kill eachother. His eyes narrow on the paladin, expecting him to leave just like the rogue but when he doesn't, Xander nods. He grips his staff "From the onversations with him, he mentioned to Docks."

"So let's head to the docks and see what's up." Isaac suggests. "We can make further plans from there." With that, he leads the group to the destination, open minded.

Bucko crosses his arms...

"Bucko blasts stupid bugs and robots, Buckos not blasted any peep-holes!...nots recently..."

He then shrugs...."No reasons bees mad at Bucko..."

"I've had more of a serious talk to my cat then you, Bucko. Do you think before you speak? Or find everyone else insulting? I simply stated what I have noticed and want to teach you but all you want to do is blast things." The wizard shakes his head and sighs "I do not want innocent people dead. You don't seem to care. "Forgiven in advance, friend Xander. Let's proceed to the docks and see the next stage of this done." Isaac says, waiting a few steps towards the docks.

With the group gathered up they make haste to the docks. No one luckly pays any attetion to them as they go through the slums. A young woman, probably human by appearance approaches them with a basketfull of flowers and offers some to the group, offering a silver piece for the flowers. Xander looks at her, tilting his head. He pulls out a single gold piece for 10 flowers of various designs and she looks at him wide-eyed but she gives him the flowers. He takes them, holding them half-hazardly. Hard to tell why he wanted them. He nods and looks at the others. Not a word was spoken.

Once they are past the flower-seller, Isaac asks "Is that purchase somehow significant, wizard? Should we have bought some as well?"

"Innocents beauties are too delicates for the world the ways it is."

Bucko shakes his head sadly

"I would assume someone of your stature would want to help people in need. She was selling, so I bought them. Relatively simple. And the name is Xander. I would have through after all these years you would have learned that -paladin-." The words he spoke seeemed harsh. He gently places the flowers into his backpack trying to prevent them from being crushed but he had a idea-place them in the iron pot and close it. After doing as such, he straps it to his backpack. His eyes turn towards the goblin "I have seen in the past female warriors. They are not delicate. And you have met Pike. Not delicate. And of course Kisaiya."

As the group travels to the dock, they are able to get there in good timing leaving the slums behind them bot not too far. They can make the slums out and its a bit shady but with other people around working on several areas it seems to be a bit safe. Its still a brilliant sight seeing the flying ships move to and from the airship dock. They don't see any immiediate guards at the moment nor a shipment under guard.

"We should of course find the shipment and return it. But we do know of something happening beforehand? Not sure what. Could investigate it as well." Xander speaks out.

Bucko shrugs at Xander and looks at the airships...

He has heard stories of cannons and would very much like to see one of the ships up close, he pats his foot, considering the waterfall turning the wheel...


He points at the wheel...
"Fishermans says the lake has a magic gate at the bottom, water goes out the lake, and comes out another gate in the high places, makes the water fall.  It might be true story, swam down looksee but never founds it."

"While it may be a bit bold of me to do so, I'm inclined to ask directly at the guard/customs office about the siezed shipment. At best they could direct us and give us the information we lack, at worst they say no. What do you all think?" Isaac asks, checking his attire and general tidiness to make a good impression.

Kisaiya's eyes were wide with wonder at the ship.  She had said little up to this point, but she was amazed by the ship.  She leaned on her glaive and simply stared, like a little girl seeing something amazing for the first time.

"Isaac, I think that is a great idea.  Anything to get... closer."

OOC: Yes, I am back.  Thank you for still being here for me.

The wizard ponders a moment and finally speaks "You feel it is wise to tell them we are looking for the shipment, unsure if we can trust them? I don't feel it is wise to put us into the crosshairs. We should investigate further. Also, not all guards are to be of their word. Some are against what the guards stand for. Corruption is around us. And I don't believe they have to listen to you, Isaac. You hold sway within the confines of Sarenrae, same as Pike but will that be enough? Same as you Kisaiya. Not all will back you because of your faith." Xander taps his staff against the ground, his cat upon his shoulders "We also don't know who this carrier is or if he or she was caught. It could bring the crosshairs of the guards upon us."

Kisaiya frowned a moment.  She thought, clearly, that everyone liked her.  But yes, her 'goodness' might be a bad thing.  In her mind, she figured that of course, I user of magic might think that.  She never thought of her spells as magical, just as a gift.

"Well, someone has to speak.  I can go with anyone, leaving the glaive, and just be eye candy.  And can act the innocent, and even ask the stupid questions that we shouldn't ask, such as about the shipment.  Whoever is with me can shut me up, and yet, we might get an answer."  She shrugged.  "I just want to get closer. What a pretty ship!"

The cleric was clearly easy selling herself.  She almost seemed she wanted to see the ship more than anything else.  But her argument sounded as if she thought it out.

Bucko shrugs at the others....
"Is this place where someone who has a bills of sale can goes and receives the thing they bought.  Wes should talks to person who finds shipsments fors us."

Bucko had heard stories of how boxes and customers were matched together, it reminded him of the library and their books....so he blurts out..
"Finds this places librarieans!"

"As you wish, Bucko." He says, a little disappointed at not being able to just be straight. "Either way, let's make progress. Shall we head there, now?" Isaac says, looking towards a possible customs agent.

Bucko looks back and forth at his compatriots trying to decide who is the best to approach the person they meet at the docks....Xander knows how to talk smart, Kisailya is nice, and Isaac is respected...Bucko is confused...

"Whos speaks to them for us?"

Kisaiya took a deep breath, handing her glaive to someone.  "Let it be me.  I am a woman.  A comely women, Goddess be blessed.  Even in armor with weapons, I am less a threat.  And if they know my Goddess, they know I embrace love over hate.  If the worst happens, then you still have Isaac to fight.  And you, my friend, have a great weapon.  Use it if you must."  She smiled.  "As I said, I can ask any question.  You can always step up and call me a silly girl, and ask a different one.  So follow me, and let me lead.  My Goddess will protect me."

As she was speaking, she made adjustments to her armor, letting a little more show, pulling her hair down around her shoulders, letting her holy symbol show on her chest.  "After all, I have ways..."

"I can see the advantage of your being our spokes person," Isaac says amicably, "The less likelihood of conflict, the better." He then cleans off his own borrowed armour, wanting to make a good impression as her guard. "Shall we go?"

As much as Xander wanted to retort, he doesn't say a word. Even after he insisted to not go to the guards, they seem to be going to someone in charge who is probably protected by said guards. The group ventures out into the docks, several dock workers move things on and off several ships. No one pay then any attention. They look around, Xander tapping his staff against the ground. After checking out 'the bottom' area they go to the 'second floor'. Nothing but warehouses. 'Third floor' There's some other warehouses no one went into and probably locked but they do see a office 'Farl Glim, Dock Maintencen'.

Bucko points to the sign and works to read it....he gets the name and says out loud..

"A dwarf maybes, dwarves nots likes goblins much."

Bucko sorts out the first word referring to something on the place he fishes, and the boats here makes sense, the last word however is just a long word that makes no sense to him....

"Seems proper."

The paladin responds to Bucko, "Hopefully this one isn't wrongfully prejudiced, my friend. Let's play our parts and see how it goes."
Isaac proceeds Kisaiya to the office door, courteously opening it with a slight bow visible to anyone within the office. "Here we are, Holy one." He says moderately loud.

Kisaiya stepped in, her hips swaying, tossing her head so her long hair flew over her shoulders.  She had pinched her cheeks to give a blush and wetted her lips.  She looked around, smiling, her eyes taking in everything.  She went to the nearest desk or table, looking for the best-dressed one here.

"Good day.  I am seeking the one named Farl Glim.  Is the gentleman present?"

With the others left outside but the door is opened, Kis walks in. Inside the room is a single desk littered with papers. Some are in the out box, others are in the in one but some lie on the desk. Peaking up from the pile is a young halfling with broad classes. It looks up and tilts his head "Yes? I'm rather busy. Busy busy busy. Yes I am Farl Glim, head of well this place. Speak up, don't got all day."

Two guards stands on either side of the door, looking like they are probably human. Chain shirts, longswords and what looks like small revolvers. They watch the cleric walk in and if anyone else tries to enter they bar the door "Only one enters." If the cleric enters with a visible weapon, it is asked to be place by the door.

Outside, nothing really happens. A few aerial ships moves off, some move in. Obviously rather busy.

Kisaiya pauses at the door, the smile still on her face.  She shrugs, then takes off her sword, then her bow, then two daggers.  She doesn't bother with the dagger they cannot see.

"One little girl comes in and you and your men are afraid of little me?"  She giggles. "Oh well, rules are rules, I suppose.  The Goddess doesn't care."

She brushes her hair back coquetishly.  "So, there is this package that was shipped by the usual channels, then siezed for no reason.  No explanation, no nothing.  Now, I know if I shipped a package and it was taken for no reason, I would be most vexed."

She reaches in her bodice for a copy of the note with the information on it.  "So, here are the specifications.  Being a man of means, I am sure you can find out what happened?  There will be many... blessings... on you for taking care of this."

That last line was practically dripping with suggestion as she said it, licking her lips.

Isaac stands a post outside the door, much like an outside guard, trying to listen in on the interior. Just in case something goes wrong, he wants to be ready to make an entrance.

"They can easily kill you and then what would you deity do? You would easily be thrown off the docks to never be seen again. And now you want a package after. If it was taken, then I would know about it but what proof do you have that it is yours?" The halfling leans back and crosses his arms "Your right I am a man of many means but I have a job and I don't want to lose it. What type of usual channels was it shipped? Several different ships. Pioneer? Quicklift? Seafarer?" He leans forwards and takes the specifiation. Of course he grabs his glasses and examines it "I've seen many crates, all within this specificatons. Today or was it last night? Not sure, not sure at all." He puts one hand out as if waiting <green<"Your new to the docks am I correct? I do not see such a beautiful woman like yourself."</green>

Her smile did not falter, nor her mischievious manner.  But her eyes hardened a little.  "Good Sir, I promise.  Anyone wanting to throw me over the dock would find that I am not in need of weapons.  I am blessed," she stated, stretching out the word so it was 'bless-ed.'  "My death, though would not just be me, but would inspire my followers, and the followers of any good religion.  And the figures Polotic who follow that.  Do you truly wish to create a martyr for a simple package?  Is the contents of it so valuble that you wish to endanger your business, your position, your life?"

She sighed.  "Love is so much easier. I am sure you know, being a smart man, what we want. We want a package.  And for that, I offer some gold, and perhaps something more.  But I need to know that you are serious.  Are you?  Or do you just want to kill a girl to prove you are a man?"

Bucko likewise stands outside the door taking in the sights of all the ships at the station, he hopes to see one up close sooner rather than later...his mind wanders for a bit and the words inside elude him...the tone of voice seems to imply threat he looks to Isaac....

"Hows it sounds it goeses?"

"A martyr? You?" The man laughs. With the door open, even the guards laugh as well "So you are trying to get me to allow you to gain access to said package with some gold and something else? Oh you are a fool. I'm not going to kill you. That's absurd. I'd like the gold if I may." He holds his hand out and the other goes beneath the desk. Could be nothing. Or something.

Upon hearing this exchange, and in despair for the possible failure in their quest, the Paladin steps into the doorway and addresses the customs agent or whomever he is. "This is getting too tense for my liking, gentlefolk. Can I interrupt for a moment?" Without waiting for approval, and trying to appear unthreatening, he continues, "The package we seek is an essential component to help cure a plague that is running through the poor part of town. Without it, we cannot save the lives of the poor people who are afflicted and we need your help in finding it! Our time runs short, and who knows how many may die for every minute we delay in locating it? Please help us find it before it's too late!"

She stepped back when Isaac stepped forward.  She recogonized his higher knowledge with dealing with such people.

"My guard speaks true.  A plague runs through the poor.  And you are a man of intelligence, so you know a plague stays with the poor, then to the workers, then to the rest of us.  Do you want your workers laid waste by disease?  Do you wish that disease in you?  My Goddess heals me.  Who heals you?  Do you not wish to keep your business alive?  Do you not wish friends to keep you alive?  I have gold, but life is more precious, do you not think?"

She preened, showing off her own health.  "This is business.  Nothing more.  But business is life, is it not?"

Bucko continues to listen and the situation is tense so he does the best thing by staying out of it...
Though he suspects he is the only one who knows how much danger the guards represent with their guns....

Standing up, the halfling stares at the Paladin when his two guards block its path "Really? Then what does this package have within? And now..." His attention looks to the cleric "Do you think I care about people who are poor? And I have my means of keeping myself safe and secure. If I must I can take my business and go elsewhere. There are always ways to create profit. Nothing against you but I do not rely on someone else to 'heal my pain'. So absurd. If this disease happened to get within me, are you not going to be infected as well? All of you? Such trival nonsense. You have two options-you can continue to harrass me until my guards throw you off the side. Or know of what is within the box. A plague? That is...." The man coughs several times and he puts a handkershif against his mouth. Really.

Xander watches but doesn't say a word. He doesn't agree with what is going on and they seem to be in danger. He's very smart and knows they have been outplayed. The man has the cards. The elf waits, for now.

Standing tall, the Paladin responds "My Lady Sarenrae protects me from all disease, which is why it is my task to deal with this plague. For all your bluster, that cough of yours could be the first symptoms of the issue we face." Turning to the interposing guard, he adds, "And you two? Are you also feeling some need to cough? Unexpected tiredness? Aches?" then he turns back to the agent, "As far as the contents, we don't know exactly what it contains, just that it holds the key to our solving the illness. I leave it to my betters to apply their own skills to make use of it in a way that helps me solve this dangerous infection. If that is all you feel the need to do is sit there and let people suffer, then we will be off, and know that your coldness has added to the death toll!" He then turns and leaves the doorway, waiting for Lady Loranain to join them so they can try a different tack.

"So now I am being insulted because I am doing my job? You are indeed rude. I dob't believe there is even a plaque nor do I care. I strongly suggest you leave immediatly for I tired of drealing with such insulance within my place of business. Of course you seem to not care about it. You walked in without any reason of what is within the package, sending your harlot within to try to have her use her lovely abilites on me which such failed miserable. I prefer a more civil approach and you berated me and want my aid. How does that work? Go on, leave. Be on your way and I hope I do not see you again." He sits down, shooing the cleric as well and puts his hands under the desk.

Thw toe guards steps aside if the cleric chooses to leave but look ready to attack if someone decies to go after him. They look at eachother, shrug and wait. Turning on their boss?

Bad idea.

Kisaiya had put her hands to her mouth in horror at the cough, but said nothing, looking  to Issac for his move.  She nodded as he turned to leave.  She blinked at the term Harlot, momentarily wondering how many harlots this pitiful man had ever met, but did not respond.  How ever, she looked at the two guards, shook her head, then sighed.

"I am most sorry we came too late, and wasted your time, good sir.  Hopefully, you have more time than the poor wretches we have seen."  She glanced at the guards as she turned to walk out.  "You might wish to open the windows, to blow away the diseased humours."

She followed Isaac out, still shaking her head...

The halfling shakes his head and angry hits something beneath his desk. And the floor beneath the cleric drops down into nothing but air! A metal door slams down between the guards and the gunslinger, paladin and wizard.

Pulling out their guns, they aim one at the paladin and the other at the gunslinger from behind the grate where the halfling lies.

"Just business." The halfling spits out, fed up with everyone insulting him all because he's doing his job. He's not a nice guy.

Saying that the floor opening up surprised the half-elf is an understatement.  With a squeak of terror, she fell in to the opening, clearly to her death.  However, she made a quick twist and managed to grip the edge, keeping her from falling.

B-blessed Shelyn... help... me..." she gasped, using her strength and balance to hang on.  Despite what others might think, Clerics of the Lovely One could not fly...

Kisaiya Loranain rolled 23 using 1d20+3.  Reflex Save.

Oh son of a....

The mage watches as the gate came crashing down and the cleric dissapeared from sight. He bites his lip, and goes over to the edge. He swings his legs around, gripping ot tightly and looks at Bucko muttering something under his breath and looks at the goblin "It has been a pleasure." and he drops down off the edge out into the air.

Down two. Two left.

Bucko calls from outside....."Come on now gents, let us try and go our own ways.  No one has been hurts yet!"

Seeing the Priestess disappear into the hole, Isaac is startled then angered by this fool! When Xander goes after her, and knowing there's naught he can do to save her falling and probable death, the Paladin looks at the interposing gate, then the walls beside it, looking for something weaker than the bars to go through. "You trumped up, ignorant, self-serving pencil pusher! Murderer! This will see you hung in the square!"

Kisaiya pulled herself up slightly, trying to get a better grip, then glanced over her shoulder to see what was below.  She forced herself to slow her breathing, and simply focus on her situation.  If it was a drop to death, then she needed to move fast.  If it was a short drop, then she needed to consider her options.  She was not sure she could pull herself up, but she felt strong enough to try.

Bucko takes his musket looking for some mechanism or weak point of the gate where it is weak and could be taken down..

The wizard looks like he is falling but shoots off. He keeps out of sight seeing the cleric dangling there and about to fall. His eyes narrow and sighs. At this rate he should charge her for saving her life. Second time. He whispers "Scream and fall."

No one notices the wizard within the office. Smiling, the halfling pushes another button and the area outside the office-the walls seem to cackle and warm up. Slowly. What is he doing?

Seeing what appears to be yet another defense for this useless dock officer's minor position, Isaac says to Bucko "Come, let's leave this self-important halfling to his fate. I will make sure he get's no succor from my church, and we will report his murderous attack to the Council." and then proceeds to leave to find where Xander flew off to, mourning the loss of the Lady Loranain and dreading his having to tell her own Church of the event.

Bucko had long decided to not fire his musket without direction from someone and in this case the only remaining person to listen to had indicated that a report needed to be filed...

Bucko puts his musket away and follows the Paladin...

"Xander made Bucko flys, so might be both fly and safe from harms..."

Bucko follows the Paladin away from the docks...

Kisaiya hesitated, then did just what was said.  Her fingers slipped, then she let out a scream and fell, making it look very realistic.

She felt foolish doing it, but then again, this whole affair was turning into a fool's errand.  And in her mind, she was the fool.

In reply to Bucko Rackingclaw (msg # 122):

Pausing for a moment, Isaac nods in agreement, then continues. "True enough. Let's check the underside. I'm still going to report this evil halfwit to the Council and church for his murder, even if it turns out to only be attempted. He cna't get away with such unwarranted brutality!" Looking for a way to see the underside, once out of sight of the office, he tries to locate hopefully both of them.

Bucko shakes his head...
"Bucko nots cares bouts legalistyism theory, Bucko jus hopes friends is flown to safe space."

Unfortunatly for the paladin, when he decided to go underneath it was a bad time. The walls cackled out and the paladin was gripping the wall. A nasty joilt fires out slamming into the paladin and sending him out into the air and downwards. He connects with some platforms and bounces off and off another railing to his death. Xander was too busy saving the cleric as well and didn't see the paladin drop. The wizard lets her fall for a moment and with some speed grabs her and pulls her away from the trapdoor so neither can be seen. Its like Superman.

Bucko is left alone with the crackling walls moving towards him. The bridge is fine. Perhaps its just another defence of the office. Whatever is going on its not good. Not good at all.

"The hells with this place!"

Bucko heads across the bridge determined to never return to the  docks again!!!
Which he will forget fairly soon....

Kisaiya gave a slight 'eep' as she was caught, and turned to look aat Xander.  "Well, thank you, kind sir.  Where in Hades are we?"

She was blinking, slowing her heart to see where they were now trapped.

"Below the city. We need to go. Now." The elf hovers for a moment and flies away from the building. He lands right in front of Bucko as he gets across the bridge and away from the bloody building. The wizard puts the cleric down a good distance from the building. For a moment he's silent but speaks up "Where is the paladin?" Across tbe bridge, the two guards watch them intently but doesn't draw their guns or even move. Probably ordered to stay where they are. The cackling 'building' stops and the door inside is now closed.

So much is going on-missing people, constructs going nuts, the man in the office. The plague.

Bucko shrugs when asked about the paladin...
"Probably deads, he is...... Goes somewhere safes?"

Bucko's floppy feet moves him away from the guards and the bridge as he can get at a fairly quick pace.....

"Thank you, I think."  She looks around.  "Paladin's dead?  How?  And I'm starting to wonder what safe looks like."

She looks back at the building.  "That didn't go well..."

"We're on a flying city. Nothing is 'safe'." The elf rubs his chin "Finding this item what does it solve? Take someone words and hope they are correct? He's using us and I dislike it. Logically, what does the disease and my missing friend as well as the constructs going beserk have in common?" He's obviously frustrated as the group keeps losing people.

Bucko rubs his chin...
"Constructs gots diseases too?"
