Re: OOC

@ everyone - This AEON is done. No more ACTs will be generated. Use what ACTs you have accumulated by the end of the week, Sunday, or lose them. I am busy organizing my move and working full time, so a bit behind. I will adjudicate ACTs this weekend. next week, I will summarize and editorialize the first AEON.

Sometime after that, the SECOND AEON will start.

So, use your ACTs now of wait until next AEON.

@Kalinda - Do whatever you want. Haha. Going out with Kalinda being a place like that would be a neat way to introduce her and go to sleep.

@Sentience - Floradon used his VOID ACT to create a sentient being. The Possessing Spirit I think? Yes, that's it. It is not yet a sentient race however.

I will say this about AEON two, it will be filled with life. There is a lot of potential that way and I plan to bloom it. But major lifeforms other than plants will be a ways off yet. I do try to throw some drama and problems into the mix. Gives people purpose to have a task in mind.

Re: OOC

In reply to Ao (msg # 305):

Thanks

I am considering either.

quote:
"As I look upon the last of the beginning of creation. I realize my goal has yet to succeed, but I lie more empowered then I thought I was. So, I shall have one last quirk of magic. The Tertiary Element, may be a solid decision. However, I can not do so yet or perhaps at all. For The Secondary elements include all of creation and to necessitate tertiary elements would be to either further define that act or invalidate it.

So a Tale, My final tale will be told by one that goes against it. The Tale of the Anti, and the Anathema of magic."

With those words Floradon went to work. Anti-magic didn't destroy magic in any sense. It was based off of a quirk of the magic plane that already existed. Namely, the fact the magical elements didn't permeate the plane wholly but instead was in specific areas. Where no other element existed Anti-magic would it would even exist in the tower where no element was sucked.

Anti-magic wasn't about destruction akin to decay it was more about suppression it was a permeable layer that blocked magic from entering the space. As Anti-magic existed as a form of magic it necessitated it to be thin and thus while it could slow travel for magic it couldn't wholly block it in the plane. With condensation it was the perfect shield against any magic. And with finesse it could break down spells before they could land. Otherwise it could only dampen act as a permeable barrier. It was a tool made to be a universal counter to the other fields of magic it couldn't truly be used for another purpose.

Floradon created Anti-Magic the 0th element magic.

I figure this can allow for non-magical answers to be able to be achieved.

Or just an act to ensure I can work on tertiary elements next aeon.

and so, arisu has made her final act, and feels quite tired, no more mischief out of me this aeon *giggles* though i have mostly been just interested in establishing a richer world than causing mischief, because mischief is best done when there are plenty of targets and such to work with~

When do these special acts get used, before the end of this Aeon or at the start of the next? Can they be anything, or must be aligned with the portfolio?

Re: OOC

@Kuldariel - Generally the read I have of it from the previous acts is that you can do stuff like define its position and things such as motion that don't actually alter the item in question as part of the creation act(within reason). For instance, I havent really got much for the way of wrath when I've done stuff with motion and and such as part of create act.

Re: OOC

That does seem to be the case. Learned that the hard way through trying to say 'these things could exist but don't yet actually because I'm a little baby man whose scared of wrath for doing too much'

Frankly, in this game it seems best to just go all out and if you get wrath you get wrath, because it's usually a bigger punishment to try and work around it in ineffective ways.

Re: OOC

Indeed, it's fun to push the limits and see what the wrath has to offer, but its also a good thing sometimes to want to know the limits, and stick within them, if you really want something going a certain way without much fuss. It's also more fun to watch wrath when it's not happening to your post :P

Re: OOC

Definitely not just you!

I've been trying to avoid it so far, because most of my ACTs were for a group effort.

At this point, I understand in this version of the god game it's more of a narrative twist than a GM punishment (IIRC, in some versions wrath means you lose your act with no refund, or the opposite effect occurs, no matter the severity or damage to your work) so it's a lot more fun in my head now.

I definitely like randomness for standalone ACTs or ones that work in sequence with the others. Some dissatisfaction can arise when Wrath throws a carefully-designed system into peril.

Frankly, if we (Floradon, Elder, Elyashael and to some extend Kuldariel) had just tried to introduce 'magic' as a single act, with everything we have up until now and what lies beyond, we wouldn't have gotten just 'randomness wrath' but 'your post is deleted domino effect' or whatever and that's the only reason I didn't just rip the bandage off and try and do it all in one go.

Ironically, that would actually hold less risk than doing it like this in reasonable segments.

Starting to regret investing so heavily in a large system. Conversely, I don't consider the World Tree which I spent many ACTs on to be a system, but rather a project, because I had no end goal in mind for it, and was just there for the journey.

I prefer to play the game more carefree, but I'm already in the deep end with this magic plane. Next AEON, I'll probably set a hard limit on 50% of my ACTs for 'system' work, so that I can at least get a breather with the other half (probably WT and Ooze Planet stuff, maybe other random bits I think of).

Re: OOC

Working on Adjudications now.

Quixes got a slight Wrath in his Evolution ACT as he gave me no mechanism to work with just "they change now" sort of thing. Wrath was I borrowed something from the World Tree Universe to explain it rather than make something up. Also, I made this evolution basically the driving function of life on the planet as there isn't any other reason for life to exist really. Survival and reproduction are its only needs.

And then while I am editing something, Tschup dumps a big load in my face. Ok. Need a break. Gotta run to the store and grade homework.

I am locking the thread though.

Re: OOC

All adjudications are done. I am slowly working on the summary. But this Creation is complex in certain ways and simple in others. I also want to move a few things set in motion forward and provide some challenges to others.

I am considering a strange thing... it would simply some of the complexities of the World Tree universe. Would anyone oppose a bit of fiat where I merge a bunch of stuff? Forge a sort of cosmology? Basically, I want to have four of the major branches of the World Tree intertwine a bit.

Thoughts?
