Re: OOC
Definitely not just you!
I've been trying to avoid it so far, because most of my ACTs were for a group effort.
At this point, I understand in this version of the god game it's more of a narrative twist than a GM punishment (IIRC, in some versions wrath means you lose your act with no refund, or the opposite effect occurs, no matter the severity or damage to your work) so it's a lot more fun in my head now.
I definitely like randomness for standalone ACTs or ones that work in sequence with the others. Some dissatisfaction can arise when Wrath throws a carefully-designed system into peril.
Frankly, if we (Floradon, Elder, Elyashael and to some extend Kuldariel) had just tried to introduce 'magic' as a single act, with everything we have up until now and what lies beyond, we wouldn't have gotten just 'randomness wrath' but 'your post is deleted domino effect' or whatever and that's the only reason I didn't just rip the bandage off and try and do it all in one go.
Ironically, that would actually hold less risk than doing it like this in reasonable segments.
Starting to regret investing so heavily in a large system. Conversely, I don't consider the World Tree which I spent many ACTs on to be a system, but rather a project, because I had no end goal in mind for it, and was just there for the journey.
I prefer to play the game more carefree, but I'm already in the deep end with this magic plane. Next AEON, I'll probably set a hard limit on 50% of my ACTs for 'system' work, so that I can at least get a breather with the other half (probably WT and Ooze Planet stuff, maybe other random bits I think of).
