Hey all, this is for OOC game conversation.

You should have been seeing a number of folders for some time. You should see some of the news items currently coming out of Seattle in the news and current events folder. You should also see some info about the Pan Pacific Hotel in downtown Seattle in the Places and Locations folder. The Matrix Sites and Contacts, Marks & People of Influence folders should be somewhat empty and will fill up as the game goes along. Let me know if you see all this as described.

Sorry to be a nuisance, but I can't see any of those folders. It's entirely possible that its just me being a bit thick.

Yep, That's the threads. The Matrix Sites and the Contacts, Marks and People of Influence should be pretty empty but there should be relevant content in the other two.

One note to everyone. The burner SIN will be a rating 4 SIN in a random identity that will be active for the duration of your stay in the Pan Pacific (1 week). Feel free to add it to your character sheets.

If you don't take the burner let me know which of your IDs you are taking the job under?

Is it safe to presume these identities, if accepted, will be assigned by you?

Thinking storywise makes sense that Tu Bahd would take a free Lvl 4 SIN for a week.

That's fine.  Glam will still go ahead and set up under their own SIN for various reasons, but will accept and use the 1 week burner that Mr. J is providing.

Let me make sure we're communicating clearly. If you accept the burner SIN then the ticket on the sub-orbital and the reservation at the Pan Pacific hotel will be obtained for the burner SIN. If you decide that you don't want the burner then the ticket and reservation will be in the name of one of your pre-registered IDs.

The advantage of the burner is that you don't risk compromising one of your SINs. You get a SIN of a chummer who apparently lived a clean life, then they take a trip to Seattle, stay a week in the Pan Pacific and poof disappear.

The disadvantage of the burner is that when you load the credentials into a commlink then the process includes uploading your biometrics to a couple of datastores to register the identity (as with any SIN) but your not sure that those are the only places that the bio's are being uploaded too, unless you hack the integration software and make sure the integration is clean.

I was so tempted to include a Rick & Morty "You son of a bitch, I'm in" gif with my post then.

I got the first part.  And despite excepting it and using it, Glam will still set up a flop and a safehouse under their own fake SINs, because you never trust a Johnson (especially when you're trusting a Johnson).

Though I might instead of setting up a two months safehouse in a U-Stor-It, only set it up for one month (and save 625¥).

But isn't this true of all fake SINs, not just the burner SIN?

I'm not seeing any specific disadvantage to the burner SIN that isn't inherent to all the other SINs we (allegedly) have.

To some degree yes, but when you arrange a fake SIN it's probably through a contact that you at least have some history with and maybe established a level of trust so when the fake SIN is loaded onto you comm you can have a little confidence that the process only sends the data to the appropriate datastores.

Here you are receiving what is essentially an encrypted installer file from a Johnson you never met and when you install the fake SIN into your comm you are trusting this installer to only send the data to the appropriate datastores.

It's simply a matter of trust of the installer.

Also, couldn't you just hold on to the SIN without loading it in case your others get burnt? If so, I'm thinking to do just that until I can make sure it's a clean upload.

I guess it could be another to do list to break into said datastorws and get your drek deleted..

No, if you request the SIN the travel tickets and hotel reservations are in that name. You need the SIN installed to get on the flight or check into the hotel. Also the SIN only lasts 1 week.

If that's the case, think I'm gonna rethink that drek. Don't think this cat would want anything put somewhere they didn't know about, so no way will she be taking that. She'll be checking in with a different SIN.

Also, is there a required SIN level to travel internationally, since this chick is coming out of Egypt?

And do we/will we have the opportunity to ask for something else besides a SIN? Not much of a talker but I'd shoot the shot.
