They’ll be going into NPC status and we will be moving along shortly.

It’s been another ‘long week’ with my wife out of town and me taking care of our 6 and 2 year old.

Most of the times I see someone comment on having a 'long week' I imagine something that took 10 days to complete, but somehow felt like 15 or 20.

Player 9 reporting in.  Apparently myself and another had similar ideas of making a Medic/Doctor... if they'd PM me, we can compare ideas and see if we're drastically overlapping or if we'll be fine working side by side in the operating theatre...

Just a quick question for everyone.

Would anyone have a problem with listing there equipment in a separate thread and not on their character sheet?

I’ve done this in other games to keep the players from constantly updating their character sheets as I once had a player delete their character sheet while updating equipment. Also in the event a character is killed or incapacitated the other characters can ‘help themselves’ to the other characters equipment while in a gunfight without have to post ‘what does so and so have on there dead/unconscious body that I can use”.

You’d basically list your stuff there and would also be a good place to track fortune and character condition.

Last anything the character may have hidden or concealed can be listed as a PM so only they and GM knows about it.

I'm good with that :)

I don't see any reason to not have a thread for equipment once we are all together, but I will be keeping mine on my character sheet up to date as well, and on the local backup file I keep for every character because RPOL sometimes loses data even if you don't delete its yourself.

Yep I’ve seen RPOdo some oddball stuff over the years. Such as all the threads in the game disappearing where I had to contact the mods to poof them back int existence.

I tend to save my players character sheets just in case something happens. Also I have sadley had players change shit on their sheet like increasing a skill bonus or hit points.

No problem here.

So one character wants to carry a canister of pepper spray.

I could not find any stats for pepper spray in the Modern AGE books, so this is what I came up with. Having been pepper sprayed before so I could carry/use it in an official capacity I can attest that if someone sprays you in the chest the fumes will still mess you your ability to see.

Type: Pepper spray canister (Penetrating Damage, non-lethal)
Range: 1m/3ft
Attack Roll: 3d6+1
Damage: Can impose either the Impaired or Blinded status on the target. User requires a minor action to 'aim' at target's face in order to blind the target. If not aimed at target's face and attack is successful target is only impaired.
Impaired: Target suffers a –3 penalty on all ability tests (pg 46 Modern AGE Companion).
Blinded: –5 penalty to Perception (Seeing) tests and all other rolls where vision is critically necessary (pg 46 Modern AGE Companion).
Ammo: 3 uses
Note: Will not work on individuals wearing gas masks, or wearing a fully sealed vac suit.

sounds fair to me .. I also had to get pepper sprayed to be aware of it's effects. Before I could carry it on my job. It really sucks .. and most of the good self defense sprays produce a cloud of fog that covers an area. Only the cheap ones produce a stream of liquid that has to be aimed pretty much directly at the eyes.

I personally wouldn’t carry the cloud of fog version.

I personally wouldn't carry pepper spray ever again... had a can trigger and unload it's entire contents while in my pocket.  Soaked the entire groin region of my pants and underwear (and leg, but my thigh wasn't really effected).

That was an intensely unpleasant few hours till I managed to get home and shower.

Asha would know that Sato doesn't speak what ever language she spoke to him in...or was that under her breath but directed at him?

I think perhaps GM is in the process of adding language groups and hasn't quite finished yet, as I used English.

mine went off in my pocket too .. luckily only spread over my thigh before i caught it .. damn that shit burns! lol

i just stopped carrying it in my pants pocket .. put it in my loose and roomy coat camo pocket .. never had the leak issue again.

With English being the default language every character has there is no language group for it.

So if you use the language group feature for English only the GM will see it.
