Holding out his hand for the AKSU, Van nodded in thanks as Sancho handed it over and grabbed the Saiga. He smiled as he looked down at the old weapon clearing it. "Is heirloom, been in family for many, many generation. Brought from Earth.

"Priority is transferring Oh-Two. Gear like vacc suits and comms equipment can go over with food and supplies, same time as atmo. Then transfer water, and last PDC ordnance."

After getting some additional firepower, the three move down to the galley deck. This deck doesn't appear to have been tampered with either and has food ration packs for 7 people for 20 days (140 total).

Moving further to the cargo hold is where things finally appear out of the norm. Van's drone is patiently waiting. But both the inner and outer airlock hatches are wide open, leading to a long hallway. This hallway leads to customs, and then the casino level of Eros.

The hatch leading to the long ladder well down that leads to engineering is also wide open.

"Sloppy," said Yuri.

A warning is heard over the ad hoc comms network.



The good news is there are no infected seen outside the open airlock hatches.

But the bad news (which isn’t all that bad) is that the open airlocks lead to a ‘T’ intersection, so one would have to exit the airlocks and look left or right to actually see if there are infected coming.

"Maybe to close the doors, good?" asked Yuri, looking for the airlock controls.

"Or send drone to look?"

In reply to Yuri Ivanovich (msg # 19):

They had some useful weapons, but they did not have a chance to yet transfer supplies and air. Water and cargo were secondary. With the cargo door sealed at least the infected couldn't get in. Assuming there weren't infected in here already.

"Yes, will secure cargo lock. Will send drone down into engine room.

"If situation hopeless, will abandon ship with what we have already."

With that, he began sealing the cargo lock.

Next was to send the drone down into the cargo bay.

OOC: Is there a way to vent the pressurised cargo gangway so that it's in vacuum? That is, so people can't easily use it to access the ship? Worse comes to worse, shoot it full of holes and then close the cargo lock? The pressure doors connecting the cargo locks to Eros would seal on the station end to prevent pressure loss.

Sancho helped close the cargo lock and then resumed covering them as the decision on what to do next was made.

Sancho activates the controls to close the inner and outer airlock doors. After they are closed, Van depressurizes the airlock itself to create a barrier between the CV Svetalana and Eros. He also locks the outer and inner airlock hatches. These actions wouldn't completely prevent someone from getting onboard, but it would take them time, and those currently onboard would have plenty of warning someone was trying to access the ship.

The drone is sent down the ladder to engineering. As the CV Svetalana was designed as a container ship, the ladder runs the length of half the ship.

Upon getting to the small landing that has a further hatch to engineering, Van sees that the hatch to engineer is open....

Sancho watched the screen of the drone over Van's shoulder. "I'm hoping we don't have to go down there." he said.

Van looked thoughtful.

"We may need to. Will send drone to check."

He sent the drone down to take a look.

Van guides the drone down into engineering, and immediately sees something is amiss on the video on his hand held. If Yuri and Sancho peer over Van's shoulder they too see the same thing.

An infected person is attempting to open the hatch that leads into the reactor compartment. Instead of trying to pull the handle upward and spin it to open the hatch, the infected person is just banging on the hatch.

The infected person is one of the members of your crew.

The analog pressure gauge on the reactor compartment hatch shows there is zero pressure on the other side.]

Yuri readed himself.

"Anyone else coming?"

Giving a shrug Sancho will get up and prepare to go down into the bowels of the ship.

He showed them the drone feed. A crewmember was banging on the reactor compartment hatch in a rage-filled and disorgansied fashion, ignoring the manual hatch wheel. Not that this would do any good; the drone zoomed in and showed the pressure gauge showed the reactor compartment was completely depressurised.

Van transmitted, "Be advised. One infected. Crew member. Her name is Tuyet. Navigator. Obviously infected. Confined to engineering for now."

He said to the others, "suggest we seal off engineering and leave Tuyet in there. No technical reason to access compartment. Water and air tanks are sealed. No chance of contamination unless tampered with. And Tuyet is... distracted. Not thinking clearly enough to do so now. If contamination will happen, has already happened. Betting it has not. Once engineering is sealed, will commence O2 transfer. Then water."

Yuri stopped in his tracks.

"Safe to leave, for time being, anyway?"

In reply to Yuri Ivanovich (msg # 29):

He nodded. The infected in the ship was isolated. The infected outside were also blocked off. Van felt a little sad for his crewmate and friend, although her presence did explain why the cargo locks were wide open. He transmitted,

"Roger. Will keep eye on her. See if she tries to tamper with water or oxygen. Keep a watch on her, please."

He set the drone to back off and park but keep her in view, shutting off any lights and basically making it look like it was inert.

Continuing to Yuri and Sancho, "Let's start transferring food, supplies, air then water. Have some personal effects and gear I'd like to take."

"Shit you don't have to tell me twice not to climb down that bloody ladder." Sancho will wait here until someone tells him to do something useful.

With Van's drone now locked in engineering, and monitoring the infected crewman, the three head back up to the Operations Deck to begin the O2 and H2O transfer.

Van has no issue opening the hatches that contain the transfer hoses of his own ship. The only question is where are the corresponding hatches on the Stealth Gunship?

OOC: You guys still around?

Sancho locked off the last of the tubes ready for the transfer to begin and then he waited with his weapon at the ready as they tried to find where they went on the other ship.

"What need you me to do?" asked Yuri.

Van prepped for the transfer of atmosphere and water between vessels. Yuri and Sancho could handle this for now.

There was a quantity of food and other consumables from the galley and storage lockers. He made a mental note of what they could take.

As he did so he gathered the case with the anti-material rifle from the armoury, piled it by some cases containing special comms equipment that might help them communicate in a more secure manner and at more long-range than the suit radios. If they could they could jet it over on AMUs (Auxiliary Maneuver Units) that could be used as backpacks to boost suit maneuver and range, or semi-autonomously as small sleds to transport gear and cargo.

Hearing the radio call he replied.

Van scanned the open frequencies, searching for the signals Alyn had advised him of.

Van doesn't see anything broadcasting on the frequency he was given, but if he himself broadcasted on that freq it is a sure bet someone would hear it.
