Ah! I'm a desk jockey, myself. So, I can usually steal a few minutes to write up a reply at any time, unless I'm absolutely up to my eyeballs in work (or stuck in a meeting. Meetings are evil.)

I'm an 18 year old manchild, from Ontario, Canada (Should be the same time zone [EST] as east coast in America?)

Totally a NEET right now LMAO, but prolly going to college soon :(

my sleep schedule can get really awful 'cause i have a lot of sleep problems, so I'll try and report when it's bad enough for me to be living at EST+12!

status: it's good sailing rn

Oh crap, you're right! Wait, umm, I'm a 98 year old neuroscientist from the middle east. I'm famous for being the first woman to get a neuroscience degree in saudia arabia. This is all true, no need to confirm any of it.

I'll take the Rum, but you can keep the raisin.

Kindred spirit! I live your pain.

Cheeky. I like it.

I'll admit, Oracle and I know each other from the tabletop side of the paradigm among other things. I can't really pinpoint when roleplaying started for me. My parents encouraged it before we had a computer. Started with the old board game Hero's Quest that they used to play with my uncle that I took over to play with my siblings. D&D 3rd edition base books when it was shiny and new was a group Christmas present for us. My first play-by-post setting a couple years later was D&D 2nd edition custom world that has long gone to the wind, but I never really lost the love of it. Oracle actually introduced me to White Wolf and I've been hooked ever since.

We're in MST in the great white north too. She's a full time mom, so be patient if she takes a while to get around to us. Frankly, once she points us at each other we can spend time interacting and give her time to recruit more folks to the game.

Ah, so that's why the GM goes by CrochetMamma!

No need to worry about me pestering overmuch, tbh I've spent 98% of my Patience Points in waiting around for PbP to refresh ha ha

I think it's a great GM strategy to start us off before tossing the proverbial rope to us, especially since we're predicting a GM with a tight schedule !

Recruiting for this game should be pretty easy, I think. The first game I ever ran on here (I was a truly worthless GM so please don't unearth my shame lmao) had a very similar premise, and it got hits fast. I didn't renew it's ads, but I assume if you do, you'll keep getting RTJs :)

I'm putting the edit at the top, since my handy first mate covered some of this already:
Edit: What Sabriel said. But read mine too.

.

You guys are great already. ENTERTAIN ME, MINIONS!

Er...

Sorry, I had a busy day but I will be posting an opening thread tonight. Working on it right after I post this.

Once I have the scene set, you guys are free to post as you wish, interact, etc. I will attempt to post once a day but check twice. If it looks like everyone has had a chance to interact and I have some free time I will post twice and check thrice! "Thrice" is such a great word...

I'm in Alberta, Canada (don't worry, I'll survive,) for time reference.

Haha! I had just settled down, all snuggled under my blanket, ready to sleep. But, now I can't because I'm anticipating that first post. XD

Edit: You can always tell when I'm posting from my phone by the deluge of typos.

I have to refresh my html skills, I'm almost ready to post! I don't plan on embedding a whole lot of images but I think the opening scene requires one.

Yes, we do. Its a giant mystery, but we can talk to each other. She'll seed in other things specific to our characters, but the players can communicate.

In Milo's world, elves are less a type of humanoid, and more like a race of demigods (see the Ljosalfar of Norse mythology). Hence the groveling lmaooo

I don't mean for Lyndis to ignore Schnnarrp. But, she has no idea what he is and if he's intelligent! So, she's just keeping a wary eye on him, for now.

Milo still doesn't know he's not in Arzengrande anymore, so he's abruptly adopted a fake identity out of habit.

If it wasn't clear, he's mimicking a jolly traveler of some kind; like a tavern-dwelling bard or maybe a playful merchant.

You got a slice of his real personality between when he dropped the reverence act and before he put back up this mask. That's not to say he's generally that rude, he was actually just covering up his embarrassment by being cold.

I'm offering this information to avoid any confusion on why a character clearly named 'Milo' introduced himself as Hartebraine

All good.   Thats what Schnnarrrp is doing.
So far, he's not so convinced on the 'intelligence' of the things bafooning around in front of him.

19:47, Today: Sabriel Nav rolled 17 using 1d20 with rolls of 17.  Cunning - I don't buy the act.

HAHAHAHAH.... One over my cunning. I do buy the act. Oh lord. You are coming across as a deranged mad man.

I’m not so sure it is an act.

Maybe ‘buying the act’ that he’s got himself under control?   :-p

Re: Off Topic

I have decided that, just like in our real world, Metamorphic Rocks (Quartzite, Schist, Gneiss, etc) are created when the other two types of rock (Sedimentary and Igneous) are placed under great heat/pressure/chemical effect.

In the world that Schnnnnarp is from; that ‘evolution’ goes further, into what most of us geeks will recognise from the ‘King Monkey’ legends … in that, occasionally, as stone I’d being going through the Metamorphic process, ‘eggs’ can form.

From those eggs are born stone monkeys.

Stone Monkeys (or ‘Morphites’ as they refer to themselves) consume sustenance, just we humans do.
Just as humans eat both lower life forms and plants, Morphites consume lower mineral forms (Sedimentary and Igneous rocks), as well as plant matter.

There are various ‘races’ of Morphites, dependant on the type of Metamorphic rock that one grew from.
Sccchhnarp is a Marble based Morphite.    But there are Phyllite, Schist, etc Morphites also.

It is, of course, up to each player to decide what they might know of this …
But it is of academic intrigue to me.

Hands up if your character has ever spoken to a dwarf.

Schnnarp, I'm loving this geekery! Ask Sab what happens when I'm particularly enjoying character "stuff"...
