The office, in fact, was ridiculously hard to find, but finally, there it was.  A harried woman sat behind a desk, bouncing between several electronic devices.  She looked up, clearly irritated at the interruption.

"Can I help you?" she asked.

"Sorry to interrupt, but we fought and seemingly killed this monster in the woods," Alicia said.

"Oh?" she said.  "Was anyone seriously hurt?  You should go to the Nurse's Office first if someone was hurt; the paperwork can wait for that."

"I was the only one hit by it and I'm okay," Alicia said. "It was some big thing with tentacles we couldn't get a good look at. It somehow changed the atmosphere of the forest and at least one of the trees was bleeding a green sap!"

"If no one was hurt, fill out an incident report," she said, handing over a sheaf of paper.  "We'll take action from there as is appropriate."

"Ah. Okay," Alicia said, taking the form and filling it out.

It was long.  And read like some kind of guidebook, asking a series of questions about the creature she'd fought, what it looked like, what it smelled like, how it had attacked, what it did when defeated (if defeated.)

Distressingly little of the form was about what had actually happened to her...

"Here I was attacked by that horrible thing," Alicia muttered as she filled it out.

"Maybe they figure that if you're still here, you did all right?" Rosa pondered.

"I guess," Alicia said. "This whole thing feels kind of weird."

"Yeah," said Luisa.  "...Well, I guess we're all okay, so that's fine?"

"Yeah, wasn't expecting my first real fight to be like that," Alicia said.

"We did get through it, though," said Rosa.  "...I guess we're going to need to be ready for more."

"Yeah, I wonder if they're all going to be that freaky looking?" Alicia asked.

"Did you get a good look at it, though?" said Rosa.  "I just saw brush and tentacles."

"No, but it had to be pretty freakish if it had tentacles!" Alicia said.

"Lots of creatures do," said Luisa.  "...but they mostly live in the water."

"And they can stay in the water," Alicia said.

"...but they aren't," said Rosa.  "Glad we got you free of that thing.  I don't like to think about what it could have done to you if it had had time."

"I'd rather not think about that," Alicia said.

"Then can we not?" said Luisa.  "There.  I finished the stupid form."

"Me too," Alicia said, handing hers in.

Rosa did likewise.

"So, now what?" she said.  "I guess we got more intense training than I thought..."

"Yeah, but it does mean we're up on fighting monsters compared to everyone else," Alicia said. "As for what to do...Anyone hungry? Dinner's on me, as thanks for the save."

"Well, I'm not going to argue with that," said Rosa.  "Shall we, then?"

"Sure thing!" said Luisa.

They made their way back to the school-- and the office.

"Uh, hi. Is the principal or headmaster...whatever the position available?" Alicia asked.

"Not at the moment, I'm afraid," said the Secretary.  "Can you tell me what this is about?  I might be able to find someone who can help you..."

Alicia looked at her friends.

"We were doing some research and it seems like there are a whole bunch of monster attacks that were leading towards the school."

"How is that documented?" asked the secretary, curious.

"We plotted in on a map from reports of monster attacks," Alicia said.

"Show me," said the secretary.

Alicia showed the secretary her phone.

"...interesting," said the Secretary.  "All right.  I'll pass this upstairs, and they can take such measures as are needed.  In the meantime, please stay alert."

"Thank you," Alicia said.

"...so what do we do now?" Luisa asked.

"I'm not sure. Train and be ready for it when it happens, I guess," Alicia said.

"And hope that the school will be useful," Rosa added.

"That too," Alicia said.

"But what do we do next?" Luisa asked.  "In the immediate sense."

"I don't know. Should we let everyone know? Or would that just make everyone panic?" Alicia said.

"We don't even know if they'll believe us," said Rosa.  "...but we should probably try.  What if we don't tell them and someone gets hurt?"

"Yeah, you're right," Alicia said. "Let's do this!"

"Who do we start with?" Luisa asked.

"Dunno, I know who we should tell last," Alicia said.

"We do need to start somewhere, though," Rosa pointed out.

"Okay, first person we see," Alicia said.

There were two young men nearby, talking quietly.

Alicia walked up to them.

"Um, excuse me, could I talk to you for a second?"

They both stopped talking abruptly as she approached.

"What's up?" one asked.

"We found evidence that monster attacks have been heading for the school and wanted to give everyone a head's up," Alicia said, showing her phone.

"Wait, what?" said one-- the blonde one.  "Like, what are we supposed to do about that?"

"I don't know, other than train and get ready for it," Alicia siad.

"Can we train with you?" the other dude asked.

"Sure, I don't see why not," Alicia said.

"Cool," he said.  "I'm Steven.  Blondie over there is Adam."

"Yo," said Adam.  "So, when do we do this?"

"How about four thirty after school tomorrow. We'll meet at the grounds behind the school?" Alicia said.

"Sounds good to me," said Adam.

"Good. We'll see you and anyone else you invite, there," Alicia said.

"We'll be there," Steve promised.

Alicia nodded.

"Let's let some other people know as well."

"Are you thinking of anyone in particular?" Luisa asked.

"Not really, just whoever we come across," Alicia said.

"That makes sense," said Rosa.  "Where do you want to check next?"

"Let's check out the cafeteria," Alicia said.
