1 - Adventure begins.

The tension in my shoulder ratchets up with each step down the tunnel heading towards the cavern with the two pools of water. The Goblins have taken positions that we cannot see them from the tunnel but I know they are there. Seeing the stalagmites jutting  up from the water and remembering the cavern layout from Edgar's aborted scouting trip, I tap Edgar's taloned foot where it grips the falconers glove on my left arm with my right index finger and point towards the rock in the eastern pool. With a strong push and a flutter of wings he takes to the air and circles back behind the party and holds his position, waiting for the right moment.

Turn 01
Osmon
Stepping out of the tunnel, my head swiveling back and forth searching for the Goblins. There are a group of three gathered between a stalagmite and the fieldstone wall lining the eastern pool, one is waiting between another stalagmite and the wall surrounding the western pool, and a single Goblin blocks the path to the north. At least one is still missing?. Turning I release I send a small tongue of flame towards the Goblin guarding the northern path as I duck back into the tunnel and press back against the rock wall for as much cover as I can get

Initiative: 22
Move to the point indicated by arrow 1.
Action: Cast Firebolt, target X (to-hit 17 for 1 fire damage).
Bonus Action: Nil.
Move to the point indicated by arrow 2 and take cover against the tunnel wall.
Reaction: If a Goblin within 30 ft scores a critical hit against the party use Chronal Shift to make them re-roll (I can do this one more time before a long rest).
If within Twilight Sanctuary at the end of his turn gains 7 temporary hit points.

Edgar
As the party enters the cavern Edgar swoops passed over head heading for the large boulder in the eastern pond before turning to look towards the southern path.

Initiative: 20
Fly along the path indicated by the arrow to the large boulder in the eastern pond.
Action: Investigate, Perception 19 (same even if I have disadvantage for dim light) looking for any hidden Goblins or traps, focusing on the southern path (oval).
Bonus Action: Nil.
Reaction: Nil
If within Twilight Sanctuary at the end of his turn gains 4 temporary hit points.

Turn 02
Osmon
Stepping out once more I send another tongue of fire towards a Goblin before scrambling towards cover, jinking left and right to try and throw off the enemies aim.

Move to a point where I can get a clear line of sight on a target
Action: Cast Firebolt, target priority is a Goblin not carrying a shield and if possible already damaged. Within those parameters the order of precedence is X, X, X, X, then X (to-hit 13 for 10 fire damage).
Bonus Action: Nil.
Move to a position I can gain cover from the remaining Goblins, original location in the tunnel or if X and X are down then to the star instead.
Reaction: If a Goblin within 30 ft scores a critical hit against the party use Chronal Shift to make them re-roll (I can do this one more time before a long rest).
If within Twilight Sanctuary at the end of his turn gains 5 temporary hit points.

Edgar
With the battle joined, Edgar swoops in low to distract the Goblins fighting the party near the eastern pond before returning to his position in the middle of the pond, looking to take as much cover as possible.

Fly up to 30 ft towards the Goblins surrounding Solgran (assuming he is located at the yellow arrow
Action: Help, target order of precedence X, X, and X.
Fly back to starting location, taking as much cover as possible.
Bonus Action: Nil.
Reaction: Nil.
If within Twilight Sanctuary at the end of his turn gains 7 temporary hit points.

Moving into the chamber, Malice notices the largest number of goblins waiting for them where the two pools met. Aiming her already drawn bow at one of the goblins to the east of her, she fires true, her arrow piercing the goblin. Realizing the bow would be of little use for the rest of this fight, Malice drops it at her feet after firing the single arrow. Pulling out the shortsword taken from Yeemik, she runs forward just behind Solgran toward the goblins to the east, stopping in front of the one she shot.



OOC:
Initiative: 19
Action: Attack with Shortbow-20 to hit
Damage: 5 piercing
Free action: Drop Shortbow
Item Interaction: Pull out shortsword
Movement: Move east with Solgran and Allura towards the large cluster of goblins, positioning myself on a goblin differing from both Solgran and Allura's targets.

1 - Adventure begins.

Location - cavern with waterfall
ROUND 1




Chaos seemed to erupt as the group seemed to size everyone up at once, neither surprised by what they faced. It was Yana, her constant vigilance that enabled her to fire the first arrow sinking into the closest goblin she saw. Though the wound would prove fatal in time , the goblin was still standing.

Solgran, his blood boiling as he thought of his wounds from these vermin, as well as the wounds of his friends, rushed forward with his huge sword in hand, slashing with his sword at the closest to the water, cutting a gash from shoulder to hip, cleaving his shortbow in hand as well.

As the warrior moved, Osmon sent his owl to the safety over the water as he moved forward a little, sending a fiery mote of magic to the same one. Though seriously wounded, he was just standing.

Malice, new to this group and it's tactics, saw the warrior on his own, and concerned for the one at his flank, fired an arrow at it, slamming into the goblins ribs.

Amalia, seeing the goblin that Yana previously shot, sent her divine will out to it, causing the goblin to clutch his ears in pain, bleeding from his nose, ears and eyes as the divine bells tolled it's last.

The goblins reacted as one, the one nearest the stairs to the left turned and ran up the steps, disappearing from sight as the others fought. The one on the stairs took aim at yana with it's bow, clearly not the marksman of the woman, missing the woman as the arrow clattered off the roof. Both injured goblins facing solgran drew blades, one a short sword, one a scimitar and both slashed at him, the scimitar one a deep cut in his leg, the other though in a vital area, didn't put the strength into it. Even so, the raging behemoth felt little pain as the muscles were tensed, stemming the blood <Solgran takes 15 slashing damage, reduced to 7 due to raging>

the other two lined up their bows, one aiming at Solgran, missing him luckily, the other at Malice, the arrow piercing her leg <Malice takes 6 piercing damage>

Snoric, seeing the arrow narrowly missing Yana moved forward, aim's the strange weapon at the goblin as he pulls the trigger, teh sound echoes even above the sound of the waterfall causing the remanding goblins to flinch at the sound. Those who saw it's effect, even moreso as the weapon blew the goblin's head clean off it's shoulders.


Yulin walked up to Amalia's side, and looked at the goblin facing Solgran. "You stand no chance wormling against the might of Solgran the destroyer....Best let yourself die and save yourself the pain."
The goblin heard the woman, but so brutal was the barbarian, and the gnomes attack, he didn't hear her words.

Alura, calling fourth her magic, allowed her blade to erupt with green fire as she swung at the goblin, the fire and blade cleaving like a hot knife through lard, ending it's life.



OOC: Round one is done with one fleeing south, three dead, one almost dead (Facing solgran) and two others standing.

Snoric, due to your unusual weapon, the critical and your intimidation roll, your next attack has advantage

Hopefully Yulin will be back soon to participate, but for now, round 2 guys>

Snoric was not as startled as Ultio caused his target's head to explode.  Still it unsettled his stomach a little.  He gritted his teeth knowing these goblins would show no mercy and could not be allowed to regroup.

Snoric dropped the shield and went into reloading his pistol while repositioning.  Moving across the cave towards Malice he took up position, took aim at the fleeing goblins and fired.  He felt no issue with shooting them in the back, they'd been offered a chance to surrender.


Move: Move across the room until just left of Malice's position
Attack:  Shoot at whichever goblin has fled the furthest (and hasn't surrended)
Bonus/Free: Drop shield

Attack: 21 (with advantage)
Damage: 11

Allura pushes ahead trying to get to the south most foe before it can run off to join it's kinsman.

 She says as she strikes out at him. She aims her sword strike at neck level.



Bonus action moving Hex to a new target Goblin. The furthest South one.

5 THP from the 7, I'll mark off 2, let me know if that changes

Solgran moved from one goblin to the next, sword still low, and swung it in an upward angled attack this time. He allowed the blade's momentum to help him pivot around to the north to change the direction he'd been facing back toward the other goblins and stalking over toward them prepared for another strike.

They had not come here in stealth, and any accidental stealth that had just happened to be in place went up in smoke with the use of Snoric's boom-machine. It seemed a perfect opportunity to call out a challenge, "Klarg! Come and face me, coward!"


Active Effect: Rage (9 rounds left)
Move: to the far side of the goblin south of me
Action: Attack with Greatsword Hit AC 22 for 15 slashing
Move: get adjacent to both of the other goblins - if they're already dead, move to the southeast stairs instead
Bonus: none
Reaction: if either of those goblins attacks someone or tries to move or disengage, Sentinel Attack hits AC 17 for 15 slashing damage

The battle was on, and three goblins were down already, including the two that were coming to flank them. That threat eliminated, Amalia looked at the front row of fighters, Allura, Solgran and the newcomer Malice, and saw they seemed to be converging towards the right, but with still 2 goblins on their flank. She directed Ophelia to distract the goblin to the north west, and casted her spell towards the goblin at the north east. Turning her head to be heard in the rear, she said:

Please keep up, Solgran in on a rampage, I need to follow him!


She them positioned herself to keep as much as the group as possible in the blessed zone, prioritizing the front row.


Ophelia help action on the goblin to the NW
Action, cast toll the dead on the gob to the NE, DC 14 Wis save, 7 damage if already damaged, 5 if intact
Move, positions herself to keep the front row in the twilight sanctuary
Bonus action, cast word of healing if someone drops to 0 HP

Rushing forward,  Yana will try to snipe a shot at any remaining goblins that her devastating companions hadn't already cut down like wheat.

OOC:  Dash forward towards the water and the bridge,  and shoot at a goblin.

Goblins dropping like flies around her, Malice moves up to the closest one still able to draw breath. She doesn't bother speaking to it, regardless of the path she had chosen since her banishment, this creature was inferior. Using her superior agility, Malice lunges forward with the shortsword, aiming to slip the weapon between the creature's ribs into its heart.

Yana, again making the most of her training was able to move forward to her sister's shoulder, and seeing the archers, took aim at one, and fired, the arrow piercing one through the eye, dropping it to the ground.

Solgran, still seething from his hits, moves to the goblin to his side that hit him and with a devistating blow, cleaved him in half, the goblin squeeling in fear, knowing it's folly and fate in the barbarians eyes

Malice, seeing one goblin left, moved swiftly, the goblin knowing it's fate as the shortsword pierces it's chest and heart.

With no more goblins in sight, the group pause.

Seeing the battle over, Amalia looked towards the stairs to the south, feeling anxious about what they would find there. She had never seen a bugbear but heard stories from her father, describing them as big, nasty and liking to ambush people. But she also know she was on a timer with her blessing, already starting to feel Selune's presence to fade.

I don't really want to jump in the bugbear's lair when it knows we are here but if we wait, we'll be squandering Selune's blessing. Beware of ambushes!


Lifting her shield, the cleric moved towards the stairs, hand on her holy symbol, eyes open to any surprises. She sent Ophilia to scout ahead as an added precaution.

"Someone send an owl to check on Sildar." Allura said prepared to push ahead in the direction the goblin had run off knowing wolves and potentially a bugbear lay ahead.

Heading up the stairs with the others and raising her shield taking defensive action (Dodge) till enemies come in sight.

"Malice retrieve your bow it might be needed."

At the moment, Solgran doesn't understand what pausing means. Being bolstered by Selune's blessing once again, he rushed toward the southern stairs in search of Klarg.

Move: 30 ft, looking for a target
Bonus: I wish?
THP: 8

Actions: In priority order
1) If the movement is enough to reach Klarg, Greatsword Attack
2) If I can see Klarg, but he's at range, Draw Javelin & Attack (don't care about cover)
3) If I can't see Klarg, but I can see another enemy, Attack (greatsword or javelin)
4) If I see no enemies at all, then I'll need to know what I do see so that I can act accordingly.

Malice doubled back to retrieve the shortbow and returned to her original position in the group. Making her way up the stairs, she had the shortbow ready to fire at any enemies she sees.

Seeing the barbarian in motion, Snoric moved to follow him, maintaining some distance and attempting to remain quiet.  His pistol was loaded and ready to fire should he need it.


Move/Action: Follow Solgran.  Staying around 20 ft behind him - sticking to cover as best he can.
Stealth: 18 (if it helps)

Did Sildar take the crossbow I offered him or does Snoric still have it?

1 - Adventure begins.

As the group takes little time to rest, they mount the steps and look into the room. Sacks and crates of looted provisions are piled up in the south end of this large cave. To the west, the floor slopes towards a narrow opening that descends into darkness. The entrance you come from, the ascending natural stairs come from the north, the sound and mist of the waterfall behind you. In the centre, a large firepit smoulders.

Though the firepit gives off a little light, there are still areas shrouded in darkness. The group slowly enter, looking around and see several small figures hidden, when a booming voice echoes within the cave. "WHO DARES DISTURBS KLARG! THIS IS KLARG'S DOMAIN - KNEEL AND KLARG MAY SPARE YOU."




OOC: I want everyone to make a perception check with their next post and what you will say or do.

Once I know the results I will message you privately what you see within the room.

once I have posts, we can move on with the conclusion of this part of the mission.

Allura rolled her eyes.

She uses Thuamaturgy to cause the flames to brighten in the dark cavern to help her allies and even admittedly herself.

She does not so easily give away her position to goblin archers or worse by bellowing back though sorely tempted she is.

As the last echoes of the Goblin's challenge fades I move my fingers through familiar patterns, causing a thunderous voice, with hints or marching feet and charging horses, to blast from the centre of the large room near the firepit.

"ARE YOU KLARG? THAT LAST STATEMENT WAS NOT VERY CLEAR."

The smouldering flames grow to a roaring fire again thanks to Allura and her minor spell, lighting the room just as Solgran yells, heading west towards the natural rock outcrop. As that happens, the bugbear steps out from behind, two wolves held by a chain with a smile on his face.

"Foolish human will die  by Klarg's hand. His dogs will feast on foolish humans flesh first."

With that, The cave erupts into motion. Klarg lets go of the chains, drawing his weapons, while goblins peak up above the supplies and from the back (Some barely even hiding)



OOC: Everyone may roll iniative again for this.

Solgran, for timewise purposes, you have maintained your rage from last combat scenario...but be mindful of the time limit of it.

Map will be up tonight. People please whisper me where you are within the cave entrance

Allura smiles seeing her spell may have actually helped them all.

She focuses on one of the wolves menacing Solgran and moves her hex to it and unleashes an eldritch blast enhanced with hex upon the beast.

Solgran wasted no time in attacking Klarg, taking powerful swings with the greataxe, unconcerned (for now) about the wolves.
