Re: Hagrid's Happy Hour (OOC )
I am nothing near a polyglot. Just have a knack for language. I studied English in college and spent a lot of time on linguistics and linguistic anthropology because it is fascinating.
I've tried to varying degrees of success to learn a dozen languages the last two decades. So far, French and Mandarin are the only ones growing at any pace.
Good grief, with the zoom boom, I should try to find a French language exchange!
Still, living in Taiwan makes Mandarin far more important.
Other than that, a bit here and there of Japanese, Latin, Old English, Tagalog (my partner is Filipino as well as my daughter), and some things here and there of Spanish and German.
IDK, language has always been one of those things my brain moves into, deconstructs, and absorbs readily. I just don't have the willpower to stick with it until I achieve certain levels of ability.
Still, language exchange is a good idea!
