Where are we now?
As he awakens, Joser vaguely remembers the Cinnabar and the crystal rod. Right now, what he really remembers is the pain of the concussive wave caused by the "boom" upon his eardrums. He is fairly certain he cried out, but is unsure because he could not hear it.
As he slowly opens his eyes to too much brightness, he reaches up to scratch at his left ear. When the finger comes away feeling sticky, he waits until the brightness fades to look at it. His hand hovers over his face for a few minutes until his eyes can finally focus on the bit of drying blood on his finger tip. He chooses not to sit up just yet, knowing full well the symptoms of serious head trauma. Likely he has suffered just another in a long line of concussions.
He decides for right now, it is best to just continue lying in the barely felt warm sand as sounds slowly begin to become recognizeable once more.
