Downytouch Lightbreeze:
Downytouch looks to the other two. He really not sure what the right move is to make in this situation.
But he is ready to help in any way he can.
(I'm giving a free Head Back to the Village Early (and back) move...)
The three adventurers stare at the situation for many long seconds... and then...
"...I'm tired," Renee whispers. "You know what? I need a bath. And a long rest. I'm sorry, guys, but I need to go back to the village, all right? I just can't think how to deal with this right now."
Evan and Downytouch agree that they, too, have no better ideas at the moment, and so they help Renee return to the waiting rowboat, and the ship that brought them here...
It turns out that there's a new adventurer, a human thief named Myra. "Excellent," says Renee. "I may or may not be ready to return in a day or so... maybe less. But right now, please let Myra here take my place... Myra, I wish you and the rest of Dear Old Gang luck."
Soon, then, steps are retraced, and it's Evan, Downytouch, and Myra that face the room with the beast...
Nothing has really changed.
In the this area... there is a monster.
Imagine, Myra, if a big elephant-seal had the head (and skin) of a shark instead, but then also imagine that instead of flippers in front, it had the legs (and claws) of a lion. Tail's still seal-like though.
Oops, never mind, no need to imagine it, it's right in front of you.
This is a very large area. The floor is all right, but the walls have collapsed into one big area-- including the sea being visible from where you are standing.
There's a collapsed mast that's fallen in... hey, you could climb it to get to the next ship! If you didn't have to worry about this powerful beast in your way.
The beast has nostrils AND gills... but from its very labored breathing, it feels like it'd be much more comfortable underwater.
Based on the ugly mess of blood, bones, and robes over to your right, here's what seems to have happened: the beast detected human cultists, jumped up here to eat them, ate them... but now it's having trouble returning to the sea.
Or maybe it's just resting because it's full?
Or maybe it's wounded on its far side, where you can't see?
Whatever the case, its eyesight and sense of smell seem terrible up here out of the water.
Too soon to say how good or bad its out-of-water hearing might be, since you're being quiet.
WILL YOU:
--fight the beast?
--try to (peacefully) encourage it to leave, to go back down into the sea?

--Something else?

2. try to (peacefully) encourage it to leave, to go back down into the sea: Avoid Danger
3. try to sneak around it: Avoid Danger

5. Something else: probably Avoid Danger)
