"That is amazing, to live so long. Well I hope to be with you when you earn a new tail." Evan smiled learning a bit more about his new companion made him feel good and closer to her. It also made him wonder about Downey he had never met a being like Downey before though he had heard of bird folk before on the farm.

Re: DUNGEON 1: THE DERELICT SHIP GRAVEYARD

Downy was trying to get his head round what Renee is saying.
I am technically eighteen in human years.  However his voice betrays after hearing what Reveene had said he was not so sure.  What do you mean by a century?  I thought that was something to do with history of the lands?

Re: DUNGEON 1: THE DERELICT SHIP GRAVEYARD

Renee frowned.  "A century is a hundred years, and is also the normal age for a kitsune to master shapeshifting.  I managed it in just under fifty years, hence the major accomplishment."

She turned to Evan and offered a half-shrug.  "Jokes aside, unless there is a world-ending threat hidden among this graveyard, your children would likely have passed from old age before I earn a third tail.  Still, the thought is appreciated."

"Oh, shame I would have loved to be there for it. Seems like it would be a very legendary thing." Evan shrugs.

"Should we continue on ?"

Re: DUNGEON 1: THE DERELICT SHIP GRAVEYARD

Downy just looked at Evan as if his whole world had been turns up side down.
As if someone had proved that the sun was purple and rainbows are living creatures that can speak.

The old wise ones are said sometimes to see ninety to maybe a hundred summers.  But you talk as if you hope to see many a hundred summers?  Do you come from the lands of the gods?

Re: DUNGEON 1: THE DERELICT SHIP GRAVEYARD

"Funny you should ask that, actually..." Renee said, lips quirking into a mischievous smirk.  "I don't come from there, but the oldest and wisest kitsune - those who have lived ten centuries and earned all nine tails - can ascend to join them as a servant.
Save up your questions and I'll try to answer everything next time we rest, alright?"
she finished, preparing to push onward.

Re: DUNGEON 1: THE DERELICT SHIP GRAVEYARD

There was something about the words "those who have lived ten centuries and earned all nine tails" that physically ruffled Downy's feathers.  He looked a Renee with a wary look.
I also think we should move on.  He said as he also starts to prepare to move on.

OOC: 13:09, Today: Renee rolled 5,6 using 1d6,1d6 ((5,6)).

You come to a spot between the hulls of the ship you're on, and the next ship ahead.

There's a golden flag hanging from a fallen mast up above.

No, really, it looks like real gold thread or pounded gold or something...

The trouble is, to get it, you'd have to climb or fly up. There's no danger of the ships crashing together, but there's a danger of falling, if you can't fly... and there's so much broken, splintered timbers on the way up, it'd even make flying risky...

(Roll Avoid Danger (Agile) to see about getting it... Or you could just Move Forward...)

Re: DUNGEON 1: THE DERELICT SHIP GRAVEYARD

Renee looked over the destroyed rigging, biting her lip pensively.  "I could shift out of this human shape to climb up easily, but I don't think I could get it free without shifting back, and I'd probably fall doing that.  Hmmm."  Her gaze shifted lower, looking among the fallen wreckage.  "Maybe I could take a rope up?  It'd minimize the damage from the fall."

"Here I go..." Renee said, trailing off as she melted into her true form, a kitsune: a fox with two tails.  "Tie a rope around my waist and I'll try to reach the flag."

OOC: This roll fails (nobody is Agile, right?), but RPing it through.

12:38, Today: Renee rolled 3 using 1d6 with rolls of 3.  Avoid Danger (Agile).

Holding the rope tight so Renee doesn't fall to far if she falls.

(It's a group roll... but NONE of you have Agile! So no, just the 1 die.

Renee takes 1 Harm.)

Owwwwww. Renee scrapes up against a jagged, splintered board. That hurt.

BUT... she got the flag, and got back!

It really feels like some sort of gold-leaf... but if it were really made of gold, it'd be more delicate than this feels. Must be magical!

(Flag of Courage: Looking at this flag will automatically cure ONE Trauma per mission. It is also worth 2 loot.)

"Ow.  Ow.  Ow."

Renee's muzzle is twisted in pain, her soft fur caked with blood, and her voice is sharp and oh-so-controlled.

"Shapeshifting back to kitsune is easy, into a human is hard.  I'll rest when I can clean up, you take point."

Some sort of undead blocks the way. It prepares to attack... but it's also cautious, not letting its guard down...
