Re: DUNGEON 1: THE DERELICT SHIP GRAVEYARD

Evan:
Evan calls up some of the lightning and wind of his Djinn patron to assault the skeleton.

08:21, Today: Evan rolled 6,4 using 1d6,1d6 with rolls of 6,4.  Forcefull Attack (He is good at it).

Evan, describe how the skeleton is defeated (achieved with no harm to either of you)!

The skeleton is lifted up in a small whirlwind charged with lightning. When the winds die the bones scatter to the ends of the room they are in.

(One of you roll twice to Loot the Room...

Also Evan I haven't forgotten that 1 remaining hold you had left over from when Kriskr was here... Even though I have removed the Cunning Ploy move, I will let either of you use it at any time to turn rolling 2 dice into 3 dice, just so you know)

Re: DUNGEON 1: THE DERELICT SHIP GRAVEYARD

Khaaven goes about looting the room with the assistance of Evan whom had quickly dispatched the skeleton who was it's only resident. Using his acquired skills as a thief to do a complete search since they were not being rushed in any way.

I rolled but am new to this system so forgive me if wrong. You said roll loot twice, from what i understand is I get to roll 2d6 because I am good at insightful and add 1 die because of my partner giving us a max of 3 dice. First roll was lousy except for that 3rd die but  if I did it right that second loot roll was awesome all 3 dice were 6's.t

11:52, Today: Khaaven rolled 18 using 3d6 with rolls of 6,6,6.  loot 2.

11:52, Today: Khaaven rolled 8 using 3d6 with rolls of 1,1,6.  Loot 1.

(Well, no. I meant roll 1d6 twice-- once because a roll always gets 1 d6, and then another d6 because you're Insightful.

On one hand, your first two numbers were 1s. On the other hand, all the others were sixes. So... I'm gonna throw all of them out. Please roll 2d6.)

Re: DUNGEON 1: THE DERELICT SHIP GRAVEYARD

Ok but I still like the first roll I use 2d6 for my loot but I did request that Evan was assisting so it would be 3d6. which would give us that 6.

Will roll again using 2d6 and edit this post with the results.

12:15, Today: Khaaven rolled 10 using 2d6 with rolls of 4,6.  Loot redo Skeleton room.

Yes got a 6 again anyway, who says thieves cant be useful when it comes to looting.

The adventurers find:

2 more gold doubloons
1 small tiger eye semiprecious gem
1 piece of scrimshaw-- a bone from some ocean-going creature carved into the form of a bear

And... a minor item! Potion of friendliness: (use this small potion for +1 die on a Charming roll (used up after 1 use))

(So, 4 loot-- 2 each-- and 1 minor item. Keep track of what you've got...

(Did Kriskr take the first god doubloon, or the ivory die?)

Khaaven quickly gathers the loot and divides it, taking a gold and the stone for himself leaving the rest for his partner.

Once the loot was divided and everyone was ready they continues to move forward.

12:57, Today: Khaaven rolled 7 using 3d6 with rolls of 5,1,1.  Move forward with assist.

(--On a 4 or 5, the GM chooses one thing from the following list:

· There is a person, some persons, a monster, or some monsters here! On a 6, you spot them first. On a 4 or 5, they spot you first. On a 3 or lower, they spot you first and will always attack!
· There is something valuable here! (It might be hard to get ahold of it, though...)
· You find something hidden here! (It may or may not be Loot, but it will be of interest...)
· You find a clue here about something nearby. Take +1 die toward your next Move Forward roll.

Hmm, I think I'll try rolling randomly...

12:07, Today: The GM rolled 1 using 1d4 with rolls of 1.)

There's a man in this new area... he sort of moans when he sees you (he sees you first), but he doesn't attack... he just cowers into the dark corner...

(This might be a good time to try to Talk It Over...)

(It's 2d6 (because Charming) unless you use the potion first and then it's 3d6)

11:16, Today: Evan rolled 5,1 using 1d6,1d6 with rolls of 5,1.  Talk it Over.

Evan nods and tries to see what is wrong with the man, "Sir, are you ok. We mean you no harm." He attempts to speak with him and find out what he can.

"Go 'way, go 'way! You frighten me! You're dead, you're dead!"

The man apparently believes that Evan and Khaaven are ghosts, or some other form of undead. He's either frightened temporarily out of his mind, or he really is permanently somewhat mentally unbalanced to an as-yet unknown degree.

A human, it seems, his clothing is dirty and he looks like he's missed a meal, but his facial hair suggests that he's only been here for perhaps three days...

"No-- no! That's what HE wants... He's dead-- dead! He can't find his way back from the gray lands of death-- but he'd like nothing better than for me to lead him back to the town... That's why I mustn't leave...!"

The man runs off deeper into the ship in a direction Evan and Khaaven haven't yet been, sobbing and moaning...

Once the man flees the room, Khaaven decides to search it. Taking the time to search for hidden floor panels since it looks fairly empty.

16:36, Today: Khaaven rolled 12 using 2d6 with rolls of 6,6.  Loot.

In the corner there is indeed a small pouch-- perhaps the man dropped it?

1 new doubloon
1 silver firestarter box containing flint and steel
1 gold ring in the form of a snake head with tiny emeralds for eyes

and 1 (minor) item-- a light blue Dawn Candle. (Use to Get Violent against undead for a +1 die bonus (yes, even if you're already rolling 3!) (Like all minor items, it's used up after 1 use (I'll stop reminding you of this someday, but for now I'll do it until we're all used to the idea.))

" I will take the candle, you keep potion from earlier.  If it is ok with you I will take the ring and Firestarter, you can have the gold. Figure you have magic to start a fire, I might need it to light one fast."

odd treasure but I figured you had some from earlier too. Am sure it will all balance out in the end as we go too.

(Sounds like we're choosing:

· There is something valuable here! (It might be hard to get ahold of it, though...))

In this new area, there is what appears to be a solid gold (empty) birdcage hanging from a rope.

The rope it's hanging from, however, is over... nothing. Water. In about a 5 foot circle. Whatever rocks or reefs or whatever this ship might have run aground on, they aren't right under THIS part of the ship. And it's impossible to tell how deep the water underneath might or might not be... nor what else might be down there...

Even with a plan, anyone who wants that gold birdcage is gonna have to risk a little danger...

(This is the time to use the Avoid Danger move.

What stats will be helpful to your roll depends on how you describe your plan to get the cage...)

"Well, Khaaven I could use winds to blow the cage. It is kind of strange that it is made of gold though isn't it? Swimming is possible too but there might be something in the water so I might want to blast the water a bit before we do.  What plan might you have ?"

I could try to climb and maneuver my way to it. Might even be able to shoot the rope holding it.

Any chance I can try an attack on the rope first with my crossbow. Figure if no 6 we can always try to avoid danger.

(Shooting or otherwise cutting the rope without a full plan in place would mean that the cage would simply fall into the water-- and, being made of a heavy metal, might be lost for all you know...)
