"Damn," says a voice over Khaaven's shoulder. "Kill them."

There are two men here in dark red robes. One is holding a large piece of parchment.

The bigger one smiles. "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GODDESS!!" he screams, as he attacks...

(MINIBOSS! TWO CULTISTS!

EACH OF YOU ROLL 2d6 TO GET VIOLENT AND I'LL TELL YOU WHAT HAPPENS!

(But just to give you a preview:
--6: you defeat a man right away
--4 or 5: you injure one of them, but don't subdue them immediately, this round and you take some Harm
--3 or lower-- they do Harm to you and they're still up)

Whomever rolls first must deal with the big guy first. Whomever rolls second can help with the big guy if needed, OR you may choose to target the normal-sized guy...

Also, if you want to try to defeat them without killing them, just say so. It won't affect the difficulty of fighting them.)

The big man goes down after some expert thrusts with Evan's scimitar...

(Your turn to try to deal with the other guy, Khaaven... (Read my initial post about these guys for instructions...))

Khaaven wheels around, seeing his targets he releases a bolt from his crossbow. It flies true but was a little slower than he would of liked.

The man grimaces in pain, and casts some sort of spell... or is it more of a curse...? Khaaven's entire body feels shaken violently as if by huge invisible hands...!

(Khaaven:
--Takes 1 Harm!
--Gets 1 Trauma! "I'm feeling terrible because I failed to kill when I should have!" Khaaven's Agile is deactivated!
--Loses some loot! The tiger eye gemstone and a gold doubloon fall from a belt pouch through a crack in the flooring, and they're gone!)

(Evan takes 1 Harm... his Bracers turn the other Harm into Trauma:

--I've stopped feeling. Can't cry or grieve. Feel emotionally numb.

But that's just a symptom... the cause is:

--I'm experiencing trauma about a wound I got (just now)

Evan's Forceful stat is now deactivated.

HOWEVER, the two men are now both defeated.

1. Evan, describe your wound you got that's traumatized you. Was it from mystical means, or just a dagger to the torso?

2. So are either of these guys alive still, or are they both dead? (or both alive?))

Evan has a mark across his torso where blood was literally pulled up from his body by dark magic.

Probably both dispatched but I will let Khaaven have a say on it.

The area turns out to be a safe enough place to make camp... Evan heals up... Khaaven heals... some. Healing fully will take more time, more rest... but at least it's a start...

(Hold up:

CONSOLE: On a 3, you choose: either their Trauma penalty goes away, but enemies attack right afterward, OR, Their Trauma penalty does NOT go away, but there is NOT an attack.

If you are Consoled, enemies are about to attack.)

Your attentions are roused by the smaller of your two captives (gagged, to help keep him from doing magic) making noise. "Nnnn! Nnnnn! Nn nn nnnn! NNN-NNN!" he vocalizes, looking behind you in terror.

One of you turns (just one of you, in case this is the old "there's a monster behind you" trick).

It turns out there actually is a monster behind you-- a zombie.

It certainly hasn't been called here by your captive-- he's clearly terrified that it'll kill you and then eat him while he's still tied up...

(Roll 2d6 (since you're Consoled, Evan) to Get Violent.

(This is not another miniboss, by the way. I'll announce them.))

Whew! Evan manages to destroy the zombie before it hurts anyone, be they combatant or captive.

(You can always try Make Camp again... or Console...

Or you could just try interrogating a prisoner, see if that gets you anything... (Evan's Charming isn't currently disactivated, after all...)

(The roll is successful... Khaaven is de-traumatized.

But I would also like to point out:

--On a roll of higher than 3, their Trauma penalty goes away. Narrate what you say to them to make them feel better!

You're supposed to basically sort of role-play it, not just summarize it!

Yesterday was a hard day, so I'll overlook it, but let's all keep that in mind for the future...)

I can RP it. Things are going to be hard for a while for me though.

"Hey listen, Khaaven you did just fine. Killing doesn't and shouldn't just come so naturally especially when dealing with humans even if they are cultists. We overcame them and were doing fine now ok." Evan smiled.

Okay, time for a new roll for something...)

Once Khaaven is feeling more himself he takes the time to search the room.

11:25, Today: Khaaven rolled 7 using 2d6 with rolls of 6,1.  Loot.

Now that the searching is done, Evan how about you question the cultists, see what might be ahead or where the loot is hidden. I will observe them to see if they give away anything by thier reactions.

Should roll 2d6 for charismatic for that.
