Re: DUNGEON 1: THE DERELICT SHIP GRAVEYARD

"Well, our goal is to remove the undead and other threats."

Evan looked toward the skeleton wondering why it hadn't attacked them yet which was odd.

"Can you speak ?" He called out to the skeleton.

(No reason why they wouldn't help...

Success!

Someone tell me who landed the blow that destroyed the thing, and describe it!)

Re: DUNGEON 1: THE DERELICT SHIP GRAVEYARD

Evan's scimitar bites deeply into the skeleton, cutting down and across the chest, splitting the creature's upper body in twain.  The skeleton held together briefly, almost taking another step forward, before the animating energy failed and it collapsed to the ground.

"Ick," Renee said, content with just the one word.

"Just because I can search the smaller nooks..." Renee huffed, smirk hidden by her vulpine muzzle, but she trotted forward and began searching the room.

OOC: I think I'm the only Insightful?  We need to get that posted on the OOC.

19:16, Today: Renee rolled 1,4 using 1d6,1d6 with rolls of 1,4.  Loot the Area.

There are a pair of rotted boots over in one corner.

But the big buckles are gold... and fancy.

(The buckles are worth 1 loot (together, not each). I'll add them to your Loot list.)

(You find a clue here about something nearby. Take +1 die toward your next Move Forward roll.)

There is nothing of particular interest in the next area.

But Renee's sharp eyes spot a sort of crack in the wall where one wouldn't expect there to be one...

...It's a secret door! Hmmmm...

Beyond the door a scraping sound could be heard. Something came into view they were looking at the back of some creature as they opened the secret door. Evan looked over his shoulder and held one finger to his lips. His eyes then went back to the creature.

Some monster lay beyond the door.

It's some sort of big mantis thing, about five and a half feet tall. It clicks and trills to itself now and then... it seems to be eating...

The light's not great, and the mantis itself is mostly blocking your view, but it looks like it may have killed a cultist...?

(You can attack, or you can try to roll Move Again in another direction and try to go around the mantis...)

Re: DUNGEON 1: THE DERELICT SHIP GRAVEYARD

Downy sweeps down onto the mantis, his clawed feet out.  The others had never seen him really in action but now they would.
The bird of pray was swift and strong.  His two claws lock hold of the creature's own claws.  Now the mantis own claws were unable to move or strike the group.  The two creature of pray tussled in a test of will and strength.  Neither really able to overcome the other.  Downy did have the advantage of height.  His wings.  Slowly he was trying to lift the mantis up.  The creature however dug itself in to the wood of the ship to prevent this.

Seeing what was happening and with quick wit.  Renee moved her arms and pointed at the creature.  A spray of red and black light came out of her hands.  It covered the mantis legs and was gone.  It would have seemed at first pointless but as Downy pulled on the creature it found it could not get a grip with it's feet any more.  Then one leg slipped.  Then another.  Now because of Renee spell Downy had full control.  Renee spell had removed it ability to dig into the ground and save itself.  The bird lift the mantis up to expose it's underbelly.
Now Called Downy.
Khaaven move up careful and took aim.  With one long and well place cut the creature upper body and lower body was cut from it self.  The signal of this event hit the creatures brain and it went limp.
With one clean swipe Khaaven had killed the creature with no harm done to the others or himself.  Such a well place movement any master of the blade would be proud off.

Letting Khaaven move back first Downy let the body drop to the ground.

Downy looked back at the other two.  Nothing needed to be said.  The creature had been down quickly and with no damage to anybody.  A team effort each playing a part and each vital to the win.  Downy with his strength, claws and wings.  Renee with her quick wit and magic talent and Khaavan with his mastery of the blade and wonderful timing.
