AO calls forth power to imbue his gods!

OOC: Please make a note of these cards some where, as you'll use these cards to combat or protect on any action in this thread by using them to Ante up. You get them back if you win the dice roll. Then we redraw in the next age. Of course some of you may be lucky enough to have drawn face cards, they equal 10 in the Ante, but if you want, you may use any face card's power instead. Though you may not be able to defend with no Ante.

Aeon 1 Legends and Myths<Card Thread>

Cungto looked upon the chessboard despondently due to the likely future demolition of his first great Act; the Chessboard was his first creation. If He knew anything about Fusion, his chessboard might turn Into a Sun if a god created Fusion. He, however, would let chance take its course. Destruction was just the way of life.

However, there was an Aspect of Life far more interesting. Even without its Creation, he looked upon two aspects; The Aspects of Time and Death. For they were deeply related, all had to die, but their life was still mutable, and allowing them to shift their lives in the way they wished would be far more manageable. Luck was following along a separate strand. However, life liked to balance itself out. Lucky breaks lead to a greater likelihood of bad luck down the road, and Vice Versa. This luck balance could be statted out and shown and even potentially utilized in a couple of ways he already had in mind.

Luck, the choice of walking down the strings, even if it's manipulation is not direct.

The Source of this Power, The Lynchpin? The White King. For The Chessboard would be necessary yet.

Cungto using the Ace of Hearts Creates a Source of Power: The White King of Luck.

"Anal nathrak, uthvas bethud, do che-ol di-enve."
"Anal nathrak, uthvas bethud, do che-ol di-enve."

The words of Thackus rang throughout the Cosmos as the first incantation. The first spell. The Bear created magic it'self, but Thackus sought to create his own Sister Magic to the Bear's. Bjornrogn is not the only Lord of the Arcane. The spell of life before life, death before death.

"Serpent’s breath,
charm of death and life,
thy omen of making."

"Serpent before Serpent, Breath before Breath! Charm Of Death, Charm of Life before Death and Life. Thy omen of making!"

Use Ace Of Hearts to Create Source of Power: The Old Ways/The Old Speech, incantations/spellcasting.

Thackus was done. Through the great incantation, the first spell, he had created the spell of spells. Henceforth the spells cast by mages would draw from the power of Thackus'es voice , and, or his spoken words.

OOC:
The Charm Of Making manipulates a force of energy which is the first spell, The Charm of Making. Basically, all spells derive from the Charm of Making, aka, the first spell Thackus creates after Bjorgnon creates Magic.

What incantations, spell casting does is tap into the voice/spoken words of Thackus when he first cast it out into the Void.

And so it was in the early days of the Void that the White King of Luck came into existence, the source of the power of luck in the Void. Chance is solidified into the cosmos. From the white king and queen a soft glow emanates, not light but chance. Such probability seemed to stretch out across the tapestry of the Void, weaving into the very fabric of creation. All across the newborn worlds, tiny chances were being explored, things mixing which had never been planned; cause and consequence became one with static reality but rather than immutable destiny, unlimited probabilities. Thus it was that the first spark of divinity began to ebb, something mundane had occurred that no Deity could've predicted. Chaos had emerged...

(OOC: Having wagered and won, Cungto receives his own 7 of diamonds back to his hand, but his face card is spent.)

Likewise, The Charm of Making is uttered into existence. The echo of its creation reverberates across time and space, calling back to the moment when the first incantation is spoken. It will be said that this echo will continue to the very edges of the Great Void, then it will return from infinity at the END OF DAYS.

(OOC: Thackus receives no cards back)

"There is light." Pax said, staring out into the star-studded void.
"There is heat." Humilis added, looking toward the Sunstar.
"There is earth. Pax gestured to the chessboard and various other stony bodies in the system.
"There is water." Humilis continued, pointing toward the saliva left behind by Parenna.
"... and there is air." Pax metaphorically smiled to her brother, and the both nodded.

"Then let there be life." They said together, before drawing on the powers granted to them by the cards of Ao and releasing their will into the void.

Humilis and Pax play the Jack of Diamonds to create the most fundamental form of life: single-celled organisms, and evenly distribute this organic 'goo' on every solid celestial body in the void. A 9 of Diamonds is also offered up as an ante.

SO it was at the beginning of life, that Humlis and Pax joined in spreading the tiniest form of life across the material realm and upon every solid surface. AO sensed more lands and worlds may come in the future and watched some of the single cellular life freeze, only to fall upon future worlds elsewhere.

Down below on the surface of the Earthen world, bacterial growth began to supplement the nutrients of the soil with its excrement. In the waters, large amounts of the gooey cellular globs began to thrive on the fresh nutrients flowing in from various small inlets and streams. As a byproduct, nutrient-rich sludge began to settle on the floors of the few large and more permanent lakes. Too often they came and went, leaving decaying cellular and grass-based plants in their wake.

However, for such life, and indeed any life to exist, there needed to be larger bodies of water that could be permanent. For now, life was not very adaptable and not hardy enough to thrive in desert conditions as the ice-shelf of the Chessboard grew to take much of the water in the dance of the twin celestial bodies...

Cungto held no particular malice over this, however, a lot of life would die by the sudden climate change, and while he wasn't a good God, he did hold some feelings for the animals below, if the animals were to die some god needed to at least help protect them. It was all a game to Cungto something far more severe for the life below.

Thus he used that life to help ward off the cold.

Cungto plays the 7 of diamonds. To contest the climate change.

Perenna attempts the impossible, to lay a blanket of cold across the top of the world, to transform it into a tundra. However, Cungto finds it most out of place and destructive to the newly burgeoning life here. Therefore he launches a defense against this change, life seems to rise up in defense, the wooly marmot lending a vital hand in quickly attempting to snatch the dancing snowflake. Finally, a Limantis grabs it right out of the air before it can change the landscape around it. Unfortunately for the Limantis, it appears to be frozen for all time here. Who knows if winter shall be laid upon this land should this living statue fall to pieces...

The Ayrmith in the divine realm drew the Ace of Hearts forging his intention through it, creating a new path to grow in power. Element Cultivation would allow a mortal to increase their element connection, by increasing the cultivation it will increase their Elemental Energy, and the power of the effects of their element.

The cultivator gains resentence to negative effect of the element that they cultivate, (An 5% ice cultivator could stand more extreme temperatures, an 100% ice cultivator can’t be frozen).

The ability to manifest their chosen element at the cost of their Elemental Energy. (An 5% ice cultivator could create ice in a hot environment, an 100% ice cultivator would be able to manifest a blizzard).

The higher the cultivation level, the higher effects of the Elemental Evolution Path will be unlocked. At 5%-20% Minor Elemental Evolution will be unlocked, 21%-60% Greater Elemental Evolution will be unlocked, 61%-80% Major Elemental Evolution will be unlocked, 81%-99% Pure Elemental Evolution will be unlocked, and finally 100% True Elemental is unlocked. Though the Elemental Evolution Path would only happen if the user desired to activate it.

Ayrmith also put restrictions on the Element Cultivation.

The cultivator element cultivation will be determined by the strength of the element in the area, and the focus applied to the cultivation. (An ice cultivator with a shard of ice won’t cultivate nearly as fast as someone in the artic in a blizzard.)

Ayrmith plays the Ace of Hearts, to create Element Cultivation. With the king of spades as the ante.

Reaching out into the world below, he introduced another element of Magic from the veins that had been introduced. He tied it into the life that was newly sprouting in the world, creating a form of Nature magic that would be able to manipulate the plants, animals and other non-sentient lifeforms that were to come. Nature Magic. A magic that would be integral to one of the classes that had been previously introduced as well - Druids. It would also be a magic that would be closely tied to his own aspects it seemed.

It was finally time.

Revealing the power given to them by Ao at the beginning of all things, Humilis and Pax presented their card to the void and invoked its power, evolving from mammal-kind a new sentient race of beings wherever the environment was capable of sustaining them. Hairless apes standing on two legs, with hands capable of manipulating the world around them, and blessed with true sentience.

"They are to be called: humans. They are not just our children; but the children of the void itself. The children of our collective efforts." Pax said, speaking both to her brother and to the other gods.
"They have the will to choose: to choose to worship, or to deny. The will to peace and the will to war." Humilis said, following his sister.
"They will make plans. Make enemies. Make families. Communities. Suffering. Joy."
"They will become the foundation for many choices that we all will make in future. Treat them well, or treat them poorly. The choice is ours."

Pax glared out at the other gods. There was a warning in her eyes. A danger.
"But beware. For in time, they will grow... and they will judge us. Pray that when the time comes, they find us worthy."

Humilis and Pax play the Jack of Spades to create humanity. The Nine of Diamonds is also offered as an ante.

In reply to Humilis and Pax (msg # 20):

Humulis and Pax draw out hairless bipedal shapes from the forest, their smooth skins mottled with forest colors in a variety of patterns as their only great evolution since their modern development. These creatures lived East of the Arched Crucible and saw its silvery archway reflecting glinting light and they wondered as their minds were forever changed...Sentience had been achieved once more, this time an entire race of hairless ape creatures spread out from that clearing in the glade, slowly, starting with just a few, then a few generations later there were forty, then five hundred, then a few thousand.

The Humans were strong and dextrous, yet they had minds like a child in many respects. They could think and gain XP as other creatures, and learn skills, literally, all of them did so. However, their primitive social structures favored strength and productivity. One must pay their way after all. Even so, they intuitively began developing the most basic of communication skills and they noticed the ebb and flow of the mild seasons of Lerret, but it was not without its elemental dangers and so at times clothing was required, which they fashioned from the hides of the Land-hippo herds on the steppes and old forests of this land.

In this region, many humans lived in the largest of their camps, when they signaled to one another about the gathering primitively, they used a two-syllable sneeze-like sound, 'Pa-Ta', or The Tribe. Conveying much of their direction through body language. Though their experience and cultural memory were fresh and new, they quickly began to contextualize their plight between the vicious creatures of this world, its neverending torrent of strange dangers and wonderous sights. For now, living in greater numbers was the best defense, but one that could not last forever.

As a god, Dadacar is nothing if not a tester, and so he decides to put these humans to what will be the first of his many tests.

For a god it is nothing to divine the nature of a living being. It takes a fraction of a fraction of Dadacar's godly being to weigh and measure the worth of each of the living humans. He bypasses the strongest, the smartest, the fastest. He overlooks the cruelest and the most passionate. He ignores the clever and charming and disregards the loyal.

Instead, he finds the most average of them. He is only spectacular in so much as he is wildly typical. This is the man Dadacar chooses. Not the greatest of men, but the most average of men.

He is young, barely a man, with an unremarkable name denoting who his father was and what part of the human settlement he lives in. But on this bright morning when he wakes and steps from his rudimentary housing fiery halo blazes around his head in the shape of a great crown, and the scream of trumpets crack the air. Firebirds swoop and dive around him, coming to prostrate themselves before him on the ground. From horizon to horizon his name echoes across the sky so all can hear.

Aeon 1 Legends and Myths<Card Thread>

In reply to Dadacar (msg # 30):

Dadacar enhances the plateau of the Arched Crucible so that it will be even more hostile to anything which might attempt to reach that high plateau (+1 versus any challenges here stacking with the first impassable modifier +1 when they are able to be called into question). This Card calls to the fiercest creatures of the world like a recruitment call and many creatures respond...

Flora grows thick and thorny, drinking in blood like water for added nourishment. Perhaps the most noteworthy of these was the Tesla tree, which was a new plant that had initially gained its powers from the Source, perchance to spread its powers across these mountaintops and the plateau, they crackled with the power of electricity, sapping it directly from the magnetosphere, to protect itself as well as to provide a forest floor that was rich in nutrients(been reading the Hyperion books). The ugliest of lifeforms, the Fungal Bleeder was a platelet style of fungus that grew on the sides of rocks or parasitized trees and bushes, while extending out root-like structures to drag dead things to it for food.

The lifeforms that reach this forbidding land were likewise thirsty for prey and espoused the very essence of "aggression". The insects that reach this height near the mountain peaks have become quite fearsome as well through their levels. The Fireflies were a terrifying example, they were reddish beautiflies that would gorge upon blood here since few flowering plants gained root and fewer ever bore fruit. The Firefly wings glowed like fire at night to lure their prey. The terrifying reptilian Pteradon arises from these peaks after generations of leaping through the craggy cliffs as smaller gliding lizards. A new Draconian offshoot also arrives, lizard-like but with the characteristics of a draconian, its body long beyond comprehension, even though it has four stubby legs, which it rarely used. Atop this creature's head was a massive frill of tough bony protrusions ending in a beaked mouth and a hawk-like visage.

Aeon 1, Age 2  Legends and Myths<Card Thread>

AO calls forth power to imbue his gods!

OOC: Please make a note of these cards somewhere, as you'll use these cards to combat or protect on any action in this thread by using them to Ante up. You get them back if you win the dice roll. Then we redraw in the next age. Of course some of you may be lucky enough to have drawn face cards, they equal 10 in the Ante, but if you want, you may use any face card's power instead. Though you may not be able to defend with no Ante.

In the divine realm, Ayrmith appeared, the air around him created a slight breeze. A card formed out of the breeze becoming more solid every moment until it was reviled to be Jack of Spades. He focused on a race the Elemental Slimes, he bound the card to give them sentient, while applying a level requirement only after level ten would they truly start learning as a sentient being.

Ayrmith used the Jack of Spades to give sentient to any slime over level 10.

Cungto looked upon Creation and knew a chaotic edge, may help as Humanity was pushed Back, however, Tomeborne weren't born and tended to stick to the Archive, thus he looked at how he made them able to come to be and had an idea. For, birth was never going to happen, but emergence into the outer world, very much would. This would allow them a birth of Sorts, into Sentience and Psuedo-Sanity. They were an oddball of Wrath, thus he hoped to see them show their potential, as heroes or as villains. Cungto was Excited to Find out.

Cungto Gives the TomeBorne Sentience through the Portal System, using a 10 of Hearts as Ante.

Then there was the mind of course. Without brains these would be little more than magic cephalopods. He needed to make them smart, and give them enough intelligence to compete with the humans and other animals that already had a head start. He would need more power than AO's ACTS alone gave him. He would need the power of the card.  Setting up 7 Diamond defense grids to ensure no-one bothered him during this sensitive and delicate task, he set about using the power of the cards to imbue knowledge, thoughts, and personalities onto ink.

ACT: Plutocrus will make the Ink-people.

Re: Aeon 1 Legends and Myths<Card Thread>

Ayrmith let his Card fly upon the winds and soon there was glowing light amongst the elemental slimes of the Lerret system. Each elemental Slime over a level 10, began to gain consciousness, their primitive minds exanding. Their corresponding ACTs of their adoptive Patron deity, granting them a stake in the Overmind, was amazing as well. Each Overmind had awarded subdivisions semi-autonomy and now allowing many Subslimes to amass as many slimes to them physically. These are shaped into elemental bipeds with the combined intellect and abilities of several individuals. These do much of the grunt work of the Overminds and are pleased that they have greater mobility and power than any had on their own. THey quickly grow to act almost as mobile townships, Slimes needed no shelters, for they sheltered one another. The Air Elemental Subslimes began to work towards creating new living ship, shapes. The Water Subslimes began to lord over the deeps, crafting a vast oceanic city.

Cungto's blessing to the Tomeborne begins with their continued breaches into the Lerret System. Each one that comes into the Lerret system is mad, but not too mad, at least not anymore. They scrabble for foods and often found one another seemingly by accident but they seem to be able to smell one another and begin chitter to one another a cohesive way, albeit a very creepy way. The chemistry of the Tomeborne was unlike that of other creatures but were rather fond of eating nonetheless, this did have the side effect of granting them a weakness, and one that could possibly be exploited. At least for now, they were small packs of predatory sentience. They hissed at one another almost as much as they hissed at the natural world that surrounded them. The greatest of these Packs measured 32 individuals, but it did continue to pick up more stragglers as time went on, as  did the others. Of all the Tomeborne that began this pilgrimage of chance, about sixty percent were able to coexist with one another, while another twenty-nine percent could not tolerate anything that moved.

Only eleven percent could tolerate animalkind and nature but not each other. These eleven percent ended up becoming much fewer in population but often were more wise and represented the presence of the Tomeborne in the forest, the adventuring and exploratory ones. The others sought solace, often digging their caverns and holes. Sometimes they stole from their future selves to supplement some current task, like they day one of them set square chunks of mud on fire, or burnt a chicken before devouring it. This was different than luck however for it was knowledge...backwards and twisted knowledge but still knowledge. It was only a matter of time before some of them encountered Humans, Slimes, or Coatl.

Plutocrus' blessing to the Ink-people was a myriad of things, variety between two peoples and many, many tentacles. It seemed that they would swim in bliss for an eternity of splendor. However, they quickly realized that such things only awaited them in the bliss of paradise. They had only now to begin their works. So they banded together, a people who quickly grew to be flexible in body and mind. The Inklings and the Octolings found that they were very different on some matters, for instance the octoling sentiment was that counting should be based on 8, while the Inklings often bickered about the simplicity of base 10. This ideological divide began to physically separate them as well as mentally. They came to build their cities on the mouth of a river, one on each side like a twin. They began quite like they had started however, for they were fresh and new, though not without ideas, but they did not have the backing of experience yet, but they soon would. Generations would pass and soon the cities were nearing completion. Each of their cities were almost the same but the thing that made them stay close to one another in a united front was the Ink.

They were Children of the Ink, and in this fashion they were tattooed for status, not that it was usually seen except for the underwater parks they'd created in their city. It was here that they felt most at home, for gravity's force was lessened by the comforting support of the seawater. Their ability to change forms was interesting and useful, for they quickly learned to acclimatize to land based movement and it is here that they do the usual work of transmutation, for their focus was much greater in their bipedal form, they no longer had their focus split between so many various appendages. It is here that they use this blessing of power to create a whole city from shaped sand, transmuted into a smooth marble, with small channels in it to permit water to flow through it and on the rare hot days even cool it. Their city swims in ink, as individuals swim and run to and fro to carry out some order of business. In the collection of raw materials it seemed that Inkling City was gaining access to more, but Octoling City was the first place in all creation where one could see an 800 kilo fish on the beaches being stripped of all its meat by a dozen farmer-gatherers. These cities come to be known as The Ink-Cities, and among other peoples simply as, Ink-City.

Re: Aeon 1 Legends and Myths<Card Thread>

In order to make sure the lesson stuck, Plutocrus decided to act in a much less subtle fashion. This wasn't messing with their minds, so he felt a bit more leeway to use some power. Channeling the power of the Card, whose power could act in ways more powerful than an ACT, he set about his task.

The Ink-People had been exposed to the idea of trade, let's see how they enacted it. He would give each of them one good, but make sure they were lacking in others. This new wealth appeared in bags marked with the symbol they saw in their dreams, the triangle with an eye on the top part. This would indicate a divine gift, rather than foster accusations of theft. With such wealth being spread around they would hopefully have learned their lesson about Trade rather than fighting over the now much less scarce resources.

He set up seven metaphysical defenses in case the others wanted to stop him from setting this object lesson and enriching the Ink-People.

CARD: Use the Ace of Diamonds to add wealth to the Ink-People. Also counts as conversion according to the description of the card.

7 of diamonds as the ante.

Aeon 1 Legends and Myths<Card Thread>

Plutocrus's Ink-People once again felt the blessing of the one who had shaped their flesh. As huge bags of woven cloth were overfilled with golden bricks. Many Inkers couldn't carry even one, by themselves at least, but it was beautiful to behold, it's hue much lighter in color and shinier than their copper, but also much, much heavier in weight per unit of volume. The mathematicians among those that had gathered conjured numbers to apply to this new and precious material. As they showed this novel new material so some, others began to crave some of it, or a chance to transmute it. So in trade for slivers of the gold, often people would give many times the worth, many supposed that providing a gold standard ought to be the way business was done. Thus one of those early mathematicians coined the phrase and used gold as a weight standard, this helped rationalize many other standards of trade. Those who did not abide by the standards often were eventually run out of the business of trade for lack of patrons as everyone wanted the arcane mysteries of business out in the open and mutually agreed upon.

They traded for everything after that and formed new companies that sponsored the construction of new buildings of wooden design. They paid for much of this in gold standards as the golden slivers began to pass through and around Ink City.

Bjorn flashes power with his claws and tears new Ursans into existence. These were located on Lerret, while his other children were shaped upon Lerret 2. The Ursanoids of Lerret were spread through the forests that were taking shape in the southern continent, but opposite the Crucible lands. They took those lands and lorded over them, and opposing the lazy reptillian draconians in the hills. They find themselves in the oldest and largest of the surviving forests of Lerret, One of the unicorns has lived among this wood since it's birth during the age of darkness. He takes note of the new creatures and awaits some further sign of danger, for they kept their distance from the unicorn, few tested a unicorn's mettle anymore, and fewer lived to tell such tales.

Aeon 1 Legends and Myths<Card Thread>

Having done their humble work in the mortal void, Humilis and Pax then reached out to all of those in creation who meditate and seek purpose. They did not speak with the fullness of their voices, but instead whispered of a grand organization: a holy order dedicated to the Garden of Nirvana. They spoke of the garden's great powers, and the tasks it might give that would advance the causes of good and community in the world. They spoke of an organization that would maximize the effectiveness of such a place, they spoke of the humility and charity that would be required of the order's membership, and the need for martial capability if the Garden ever came under threat or might be somehow misused.

Humilis and Pax use the Jack of Clubs to create a new sacred order of Monks, called the 'Keepers of Nirvana'. These individuals are dedicated to advancing the interests of all living beings by spreading the word of the Garden of Nirvana's existence, what it can do, and helping people reach it, particularly those who need it most. Criminals who need redemption, the cursed who seek to undo their plight, pure hearts seeking a worthy cause, or those experiencing a crisis of self. Enlightened Coatls might give rides to righteous humans from Larret to the moon, for example, or in later centuries when the technology to fly comes into being, members will offer to subsidize fares or provide escorts. Those who live on the mountain might also be guides for those seeking to risk the climb to reach the top. They also protect the Garden, to any extent that it might need such protection, and 'filter' those who they believe will try to lie or attempt to deceive the garden (attempting to save them from an otherwise inevitable fate).

Aeon 1 Legends and Myths<Card Thread>

The Garden of Nirvana came to those in deep meditation, those caught glimpses of the splendor that awaited one of a spiritual mindset there. Many who discovered this place through meditation often found others who had likewise found the images incredible and were all very eager to learn more. This persisted until some of the Coatl began to mix amongst the races, telling of this place, and learning what wisdom could be found in each place. They told of how one might get to the garden of the moon. Many Coatl was able to carry much given the new Inventory SubSystem, but they had a harder time carrying people unless they'd grown very large and existential, generally, they were those who were fully committed to the IDEAL of Compassion as well.

Those among the Tomeborne who found compassion and had ascended the levels of Monk and even possessed a rough animalistic humility were those who listened to the captured too trusting Coatl its brethren intended to trade to some of the Ink-People. It decided to set him free if he would take the Tomeborne with him. He did and they departed that place together. There they meet others who wish to join this organization of Monks, including several Coatl, Humans, Elemental Slimes, Inklings, and Octolings. Many are frightened by the Tomeborne but his Coatl escort takes great pains to explain how he wished to be here like everyone else, grudgingly and yet with humility, they acquiesce. A great discussion takes place at the forum found within the gardens. There many put forth ideas stemming from many varied backgrounds, finally, they took a vote to decide what path they might take to assemble themselves. It landed upon the Coatl who had long understood their role in the Lerret System, they took the role of coordinators and messengers and decided to form schools representing the Way of Nirvana.

From there a council was formed of many species and regions around the Lerret System and stayed around the mountain until they could no longer make the journey, then a new council member would be chosen. These council members enjoyed a stately life, though they had learned their lessons well and did not become corrupt or selfish. They often gave to the needy and hungry as many settlements began to arise around the mountains of the Garden. The people who came were those who were called to the Compassion IDEAL and often worked to support the populace of needy as well as the order of Monks which called these mountains home, while the monks ministered and provided their surpluses each day in a form of humble service.
