Thank you. I guess we need to rest a while then move the body.

yes, for an hour or so...like i am assuming you did while you are sitting around discussing the dead body still in the cave.

which was logically concluded when Mike indicated that he planed to go back to town and gather more supplies and man power.

No need to apologize, and at may other times that would be the policy here...but I am trying to get/keep this game moving in a forward direction.

Some details are being sacrificed to gain the benefits of momentum.

I love Entangling Exhalation. When I can combine it with Slow Breath at 5th level, it's Chef's Kiss perfection. I reduced a heavily armored creatures speed to just 5ft. Fun times to be had all around.

You are immune to my Breath Weapons, all of them, as long as you are under the effect of my Endure Exposure invocation.

Re: OOC: 1
GM, I'm not within 10 ft of the corpse. My breath weapon has 2 ranges, 30 ft line and 15 ft cone. I used the line, so I was not next to the corpse. I think that means I don't roll Fort based on what you were asking. Now, I will roll Fort when it comes within 10 ft of me if that's still required.

You only need to roll if...
...you come within 10 ft of the creature
...and have not succeeded/rolled the save before.

Got it. That's a logic equation I can solve. I was confused by the message on the Initiative Tracker. Thank you for clarifying that.

Should I just post my action for it to get resolved at a later time, or am I the one that we are waiting on.

The next person in the initiative has logged in today. So go ahead and post.

I will resolve yours and their actions tomorrow.

I am hoping that this will speed things up.

I will use initiative order to resolve actions. But players can post in any order.

If a full week has passed since the last post, feel free to post again. Anyone that has not posted in that week will be considered as holding their action.

Ah thing have just got a bit strange.

The old De Van Kinby which was in another dead game on this site has just become alive again.
The GM has started the game up again.

So I now have two De Van Kinby.  The other being 8th.

This just got funny and serial in one go.

Strange. I'm not sure I can maintain this game now that I have changed my posting schedule up for some other games after this one had effectively died.

Probably for the best. I had deleted this game from my list of active games when it hit that long period of inactivity.

By Marek.

I'm still here and ready to go, but apologies for lack of knowing exactly what we are up to anymore. Looking for a stolen merchant wagon, found  a cave where the water dries people up to die. Killed a lava golemn or whatever. I'm out of clues.

De Van Kinby: I've had so many rpol games die before we leave the tavern, I literally apply with the same character every time now, with the grand backstory that I am a planeswalker who takes over the soul of the next character he becomes, whether that character dies or his soul is magically sucked back out and put into the next game is unknown.

world has been without any form of magic for 1500 years. no one realy knows why, but the generaly believed theory is that it was a cost paid to rid the world of something horrible. The world has been without any form of undead, extra-planer creature, magical beast, dragon, or true aberrations; for 1500 years.
The starting area is a tiny trading town in a basically waterless desert dotted by similar tiny villages that only exist to support the trade routes. The tiny villages must keep their population low or there will not be enough water, and will cause deaths by dehydration.

The primary druid-like religious organization in the desert, believes and preaches strongly that cruelty of nature should not be interfered with. With the return of magic (3 weeks ago) this religious group has taken to attacking spell casters that cast magic that in any way manipulates weather or nature.
  • any weather manipulation spell
  • any spell that manipulates the elements
  • any spell that creates food or water
  • any spell the purifies/fouls/blesses/curses food or water.

the group are self described heroes, but everything has been uneventful for the last 1500 years (until magic seeped back in and became usable 3 weeks ago)

the roleplay of the game began with the party meeting an angry merchant (un-named half giant) after a screaming match the merchant heads out of town. the party too chase after the angry merchant who was apparently in search of his brother, another merchant. His brother was expected to arrive early last night, but has not arrived yet.

the party does not catch up to the merchant, but they find his wrecked wagon (carrying oils and preserved meats) a mile outside of town and then saw the merchant running across the desert. the party continued chase and found three more wagons next to a fissure in the desert. there was no sign of the merchant the party was chasing...or of the drivers of the other three wagons.

the party headed down into the fissure, and found a cave below the fissure. in side the cave the party finds; the merchant they were chasing (dead from a head injury from falling in the fissure) the merchant's brother (unconscious from an unknown injury) two hysterical humans (with hand shaped burns on their arms and torsos).

Further exploration of the cave the party finds a previously undiscovered natural water spring, that is producing 10x the water that the primary water source in the village. in the pooling water was a dead human, that looks to have been dead a very long time. pulling the human corpse out of the water caused it to animate and burst into flames...that did not damage itself. the creature got knocked back into the water, which immediately and completely neutralized the creature.

the party came to the conclusion that they could not just leave the creature there, so the party drug it out of the water once again. which as it did last time, the creature animated and burst into flames again. The party fought and "killed" the creature, which disintegrated into ash and dust once it died.

the party then got both human merchants and the unconscious half-giant to the surface. The two human merchants took the opportunity to flee and leave the desert, preferring in the future, to take the longer, less profitable route around the desert.

the party was deciding what to do now.

Re: OOC: 1
THANKS DM!
However, it seems we are still in the cave, and the last part has yet to happen: the party then got both human merchants and the unconscious half-giant to the surface. The two human merchants took the opportunity to flee and leave the desert, preferring in the future, to take the longer, less profitable route around the desert.

as the last post from DM was that the creature disintegrated, we never left the cave. Is there anything further to explore in the cave???

I had not planned more in the first outing from town.

But if you have a pick axe and week of time I am sure your companions could find... (a freshly dug chamber to explore...that you had already explored, because you dug it.)
