Re: Out of Character (OOC) Chat

The Game Master:
We had a flurry of interest and ended up with 9 players before I closed the game for new applications. I think that's about the limit of what we would want in one House, but if there is interest in overlapping roles, or a close tie between two leading concepts, it might be worth considering two Player Houses. I would welcome the thoughts of the Cast on this.

With 9 players, its close to having right at the mid-point from the originally mentioned goal (4-6) for starting. So if there was enough mixed interest (or competing role requests), we could do two houses in a sort of split game. The only concern I'd have with that is loss rates over time. Invariably as time goes on I can see one or two players either being slow to reply or gradually dropping out for a variety of reasons (loss of interest, increased RL obligations, etc). Two houses of 4-5 each could quickly descend into two houses of 1-2 each. Merging the two at that point could be hard to do.

Even given that, however, I'm not entirely against the idea if it seems a good way to go. Given how quickly everyone expressed an interest in the game (less than 24 hours), seems the eagerness for this sort of game is definitely there!

The above points are sound and well stated. Moreover, I think a dual house game will be harder to run over time from a GM's perspective. Starting with one very large house with some overlapping areas of competence might lead us to having a good ability to weather attrition without overly impacting the game's ability for continuity.

Well.... I guess that this means I was the last to join!

Re: Out of Character (OOC) Chat

Thanks for the feedback on the idea. I do agree with the points raised and it will be better to run one large Player House in the event of attrition.

Re: Out of Character (OOC) Chat

We could also go the other direction. Each of us is a mid- to high-ranking member of our own house and we're fighting for control of a planet. The natural player attrition would be accounted for by Houses simply being eliminated. As per the Interest Check thread. But whatever the GM decides.

Re: Out of Character (OOC) Chat

I'm going to vote for large House as well.

If only to spare our poor GM.

Nine players is a hand full.

Re: Out of Character (OOC) Chat

I'm leaning the same way. While I'd be fine with two if it went that way, I still think over all the single House approach is going to work the best in the long run.

Now the big question becomes a matter of the House creation. Looking forward to seeing what ideas everyone came up with and what choices are on the voting block!

I concur, one large House seems the better choice. There will always be some players who drop out.

Not that we need another vote, but I'd vote 1 house for the same reasons :-)

Yea same here, I want to play a character, not an entire house. Although I still want to give this a shot, I usually dont play in this large of a group, but I'll still stay cause I want to try this system. It seems fun!

I agree. Chances are that attrition will reduce the number of players to the level initially planned. Moreover, let's keep it simple: I understood that this is an introductory game.

Just a quick update: after consolidating similar concepts, we have had 3 players propose 7 concepts for your consideration. I'm still looking for more, so please keep them coming!

Close to the final tally... definitely curious to see which one will come out on top. And which two it was!

Also hope I'm not the only one just a little excited to finally see a release date for the new movie finally. Final trailer looks.. interesting too.  Good to get in the mood for the game at the very least!

I liked the last movie released, but I'm really keen on the next (although I understood it will be only part one, isn't it?)

Yeah, Part one of two as far as I understood as well. Though details of it have been rather sparse on the whole.

Thanks! Looking forward to seeing everyone else's character as they finish up the creation process. I also updated my description for some basic information about Jonathan that everyone would likely know regarding him.

Quick update on the cast, as always, there's good news and bad news...

Bad news: we had two players drop out who had taken on the roles of Spymaster and Warmaster.

Good news: we have a new Player who has taken on the role of the Spymaster!
