My current concept would be a Legacy of sorts.  Alisha has inherited from her grandmother a suit that can convert someone to pure psionic energy, thus allowing them to teleport, has two psionic "blades" that can be projected from the wrists, and can protect her as armor.  She also has training from her grandmother's old team in science, investigations, and hand to hand boxing.

This could either be a Legacy, the most logical choice in my opinion, or a Protege with the boxing as the non-shared skill but with the alteration that it isn't just one hero teaching her, it's a whole team.

Which way do you like better?

Legacy seems like the most logical option to me as well. You could have another Legacy member on the team, if you want. It would work well with Words of the Past, too.

This is irrelevant, but the description makes me think of a Protoss Zealot. :P

Protoss Zealot, there's a blast from the past.  I haven't played Starcraft in years!

As to another Legacy, given that she found her suit and then later became her Legacy, I see no problems with another Legacy.

By the way, I meant another character connected to your character's legacy (as in "X is retired and quite judgemental" etc.) being part of the team you mentioned as training your character. Maybe you meant that too, but I realise now my wording may have been a bit confusing.

Oh!  Sorry, I misunderstood you.  Yes, the disapproving member could easily be someone who was part of the old team.  Maybe the guy that made her grandmother the suit (since the grandmother didn't (think Ant Man and the Wasp (original versions) but with the role of close range and distance attackers swapped, the guy working at range, and the grandmother working close up)).
