Break Room
I have decided on the first team:
- Argo, the Bull, played by McS;
- Leech, the Doomed, played by Baeraad;
- Harbinger, the Harbinger, played by Odin;
- Reverie, the Innocent, played by Nox;
- Ironheart, the Reformed, played by Riven;
- Cyclone Burst, the Protégé, played by PSinha.
As I promised, the team was selected based on the story potential I saw in it. It wasn't an easy choice. I enjoyed reading about all the characters that were submitted here, even the ones that weren't finished. I have at least a couple of hooks for each of them that I would love to pursue. For that matter, I also had another team idea I quite liked, even if it was a rather more vague.
It was really tempting to just say I'd run two teams, or maybe make this one bigger from the outset. However, I fear that doing so might stretch me far too thin. I'd rather start with one team... and then see how it goes.
So, what's next?
For those who didn't get picked: Thank you for your time. I hope you don't feel like it was wasted. Feel free to stick around as the peanut gallery and, if you wish, to keep working on characters (for that matter, those who were picked can do so as well). I would really like to avoid player loss, but it is a fact of life in PbP, so there may well be openings in the future. I may also add another team at some point in the future, if I find the time and energy for it (or if this team folds early - again, I'd rather avoid that, but I've seen it happen all too often). If you are still around and interested if and when we have new vacancies, you will have another chance to get in.
For those who did get picked: I am going to rename you all to your new characters, then put together a Team Thread for all your Influence, Relationship, etc. needs. Also, finish up your sheets if you haven't yet and put them in description.
Your alternative characters may also get another shot in the future if there is a second team and if you feel up to it then. I don't want to close the door on them for good. But we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
