She softly said "Adam .. I thank you for hiring me. When I first hit the job market years ago the fact I looked like I do .. a babe with a scar .. put off some folks. My last job was at a high-end car dealership. I finally had to break down and ask my father and maternal grandfather for help with jobs."

"I understand, when I came back home I was in a wheelchair. I was told I would never drive, walk much less fly a plane again. Who wants to hire a Crip? What kind of life would that have been for me? A desk job at some company that would make me there token quota. No I wasnt going to have that. So I pushed myself, I went to physical therapy everyday, I worked out at home. Use to drive my mother crazy hearing the sound of my weights hitting each other in the middle of the night when I worked out and couldn't sleep. I hired a trainer and he helped me get back on my feet even faster. I had braces and used armed held crutches but because of David pushing me like he did I got my respect back, my legs back, my life back and my future back. I still have some pain in my lower back on occasion and that's only because they weren't able to get all of the shrapnel out but that's just how it goes. I can deal with the pain as long as I have my legs back."

Adam looked into Keiko's eyes and said,"I'm glad I hired you. One of the best decisions I have made in awhile."

"Hey should I go to your house and ask your parents permission to date you?"

Keiko checked and saw her mom's farcebook was 'live' on her phone then smiled..

She grinned "My parents might be awake now .. we can facetime right now if you like via my phone  .. I can hold your hand off camera if you like."

Adam weighed his options and stared intently at Keiko's phone ....

Adam swallowed hard and licked his lips,"Uhm well ok sure. If you don't think it's too late in the night to ask your folks tonight?"
Adam looked at his watch, it was only 8:30. He looked back at Keiko,"Sure why not, oh wait, oh it's ok I've got my shirt on." He laughed.

 He cleared his throat and ran his fingers through his hair and asked,"Do I look presentable?"

Keiko smiled and buttoned one more of A's shirt buttons ...

She then put on her night facial cream, combed her short pixie hair-do and changed into a clean and way less holey clam-diggers and a less tight and holey USAF logoed tshirt.

She then made the call after deciding to take the bull by the horns so any perceived pressure would be taken off of Adam [in English .. and note she did address her 'rents this casually at times on the phone] "Hello, parents o' mine ... I am fine .. Adam is fine ... we've eaten .. I figured I'd call when the storm was waning .. we've been holed up here in Houston .. we've watched infamous folks cook and have talked about ourselves."

The cell phone was 'hijacked' sorta by Adam at that point ....

Holding Keiko's phone he said,"Speaking of taking the bull by the horns..."
Karl and Hikuru looked confused.

Karl asked,"What's going on son? Are y'all having some problems?"

Adam shook her head,"No sir we aren't having any problems, I actually wanted to talk to you and Hiruku for a couple of minutes. I'm sorry if it's too late."

Hiruku laughed,"It's only 8:30, can you see us on? Our lights are out here so we are using candle light and lanterns."

Adam laughed,"Oh no I can see y'all perfectly. Let me ask y'all this before I chicken out."

Hiruku looked at Karl and smiled and whispered,'Told you so.'

Karl nodded his head,"Go ahead son, ask your question. We are listening. You have our full attention."

Adam nodded his head and smiled,"Thank you. I wanted to ask if I could have y'all's permission to date Keiko? I promise I will always show her the respect that she deserves and will always put her first and consider her opinion in any decisions that need to be made."

Keiko's parents looked at each other and whispered between each other then Karl said,"Adam we want to thank you for having the respect for Keiko and for us to ask our permission to date our daughter. So...the answer is yes. You have our permission to date Keiko."

Adam's smile grew big,"Thank you sir...ma'am. I really appreciate it. I really do."
 Karl nodded his head again,"You're welcome."

Adam handed Keiko her phone back...

Keiko signed off with the parents [after any last words from Mom] in Japanese then turned towards Adam ... their phones were set on buzz ...

She looked scared and then locked lips with Adam ..

Adam was taken back by the kiss from Keiko but he wasn't going to stop her from the kiss. He ended up putting his arms around her, pulling her a little closer to him, kissing her back with just as much passion as she was giving to him, both letting out small moans.

They finally pulled away to breathe.

Both of them were blushing, Adam said,"Uhm it seemed like your folks liked the fact that I asked for their permission to date you. I'm glad that I asked you about that and I'm glad that I asked them. I meant what I promised them. I will always respect you and put you first."

He suddenly smiled at her and said,"Damn girl you can kiss, made me want to raise my leg up." He laughed hoping that she caught the joke.

Keiko looked at Adam and beamed at him "Thank you for asking permission and the promises.   So where do we go from here? The occasional snuggle? Did you want to make a semi-honest woman out of me ASAP? I'm sorry to hear about your injuries and speaking of such things, I don't mind if you ask why I look like a refugee from an apocawhooptical film."

She looked into Adam's eyes dreamily and awaited his response............

Keiko sighed "Make an honest woman means to marry me .... its an old-fashioned and allegedly humorous way of saying that .. usually said when sex has occurred. As for the scar ... a lady I knew ... we belonged to a fencing club and she had words with a male and a duel was arranged. Said lady was not skilled as the pompous guy and I was inserted into the activity. Because the duelists were both metas the guy's epee's padding and my face shield loosened ...at the same time due to poor equipment which wasn't supposed to be handled that roughly. Yours truly took the worst of the damage. And by the by .. I have tried sex guys and gals and I am healthy. I hope that wasn't TMI for you so soon in our friendship for lack of a better word."

She sighed and frowned a little as she remembered they were both ex-military and cleanliness was important

Adam slowly nodded his head,"Oh uhm well we have had sex and I have no plans on it happening anytime soon and marriage uhm we don't know each other that well I hope you're not just looking for a husband but a friendship and possible a relationship first."

When he heared that she has had sex with both male and female he was a little taken back, he wasn't expecting to hear that but hey to each his or her own.

Keiko smiled and said "I'm fine with a quote friendship and a possible relationship and when ready the occasional snuggle would be nice as well as the holding of hands out in public and we can share the same hotel bed so no one sleeps on the floor."

She smiled and saw if she could either kiss Adam on the lips or a cheek and hoped he didn't get nervous or she did ...

Adam nodded his head,"That's good. Hey why don't we cuddle and watch what you were watching before the lights popped off. And maybe you will fall asleep in my arms.  Oh and I don't snore just so thought you might want to know."

Keiko smiled and the duo kissed

Keiko looked into Adam's eyes and the duo finished their food and drinks.

Keiko took off her make-up and snuggled with Adam.

Adam sighed a little with Keiko in his arms.
"You're just a beautiful without make up as you are with make up, same with the cream you put on your face, you still look beautiful. Now what were you watching?"

Keiko blushed and smiled "Trivia ... On the day I was first allowed to use makeup, I decided that I didn't have to be the girly girl that I decided that I was always going to be. Then I decided I could wear dresses and rebuild a motor at the same time if I wanted to. And thank you for the compliment."

Keiko pulled out the DVD box to The Last Boy Scout and after a bio and etc break[s] the duo relaxed and viewed the film.

Adam played with the top of Keiko's hair.

Keiko enjoyed the attention and got comfy in her new boyfriend's arms.

Soon the film was finished and Keiko asked "What's next?"

Keiko could feel a soft but warm breath on the back of her neck, his arms were a little heavy while holding her. Once she either looked back or rolled over to look at him she will see that he was asleep and no he wasn't snoring.

Adam woke up to an empty bed and figured he must have had too much to drink and dreamt everything, until he heard Keiko talking softly to someone, then he smiled and rolled over and hugged her pillow and laid there a few minutes, he then decided to take a shower, and give Keiko privacy, he also needed to call control tower to see about flying out that day.
He grabbed his bag and phone and went to the bathroom, luckily he didn't have to cross paths of her conversation. He closed the door and made his call then took a shower. Got out and wrapped a towel around his waist and called Terry with news, and told him not to worry about opening the shop, to put a sign on the door that said:OUT OF TOWN WILL BE BACK SOON: Thanks  Adam
Adam finished his business calls and got dressed. He texted Keiko, just in case she was talking to her mom to let her know "we are stuck here another day due to heavy fog and another storm rolling in" He sent send  them got dressed and sat and waited until she finished her conversation.

After the Adam appeared instantly and put his arms around her and can be heard saying,"It's ok hon. It's just thunder, it can't hurt you. I'm here to protect you." moment Keiko sniffled ..... and verified that the room's curtains were down ..

Keiko laid down and gently pulled Adam down to her level  .. and she said in her Texas manner. "Did you want to do more than just protect me? Do we have a friendship or is it a relationship now?"

Adam rehung the curtains and fixed them so when it thunder and lightning outside you can't see the lightning as much as you could.

When Keiko asked if he wanted to do more than protect her he told her,"I will always protect you no matter what. And as far as friendship or relationship we can have both at the same time but I still don't think that we need to have sex right now. It isn't time for it. We need to be together for awhile and be a little more dedicated to one another before we have sex. I hope you understand my thoughts on this and respect my wishes. We can hold each other and love on each other but sex is off the table. Please understand."

She smiled and pressed one of Adam's hands against her scar ...
