MISSION TO LIANNA -Episode 1

S T A R   W A R S
MISSION TO LIANNA

The Alliance’s war against the evil Galactic Empire continues, and as members of the Alliance, you have been asked to ferry a most valuable weapon to the industrial world of Lianna — information.

Unbeknown to the Alliance, the Empire is working on a series of military projects just as sinister as the Death Star.  Rumors are circulating in the Bothan spy network that the Empire may be creating a cloaking device, possessing enough power to make a Star Destroyer disappear.

Mon Mothma on Yavin IV as gathered a crew of rebels for a special mission to Lianna to meet up with a rebel agent that could be beneficial in revealing the truth of these rumors.

After landing on Lianna at the famed Lola Curich Starport, you must go to Orman’s Sky Palace and give a valuable data disk to Jenna Lars, an Alliance contact on the bustling world. With that complete, you are free to continue on to the Keldrath Sector, and another important mission...

==============
Cut-Away to The Star Destroyer Dominator...

EXTERIOR: DEEP SPACE. An Imperial Star Destroyer rumbles into view. Emerging from out of the belly of the gigantic ship is a lone shape, details hidden by distance. Suddenly, sublight drives start, as a plume of exhaust propels the small figure away from the huge ship.

CLOSE-UP: AN IMPERIAL PROBE DROID. The Droid has been modified: a cylinder, perhaps six meters long, is attached to the top of the Droid.

INTERIOR: THE STAR DESTROYER’S BRIDGE. In the crew pit, rows and rows of computer monitors throw data at the junior officers. All of the monitors are displaying the probe Droid, with different portions of the Droid highlighted.

The captain of the vessel, Captain Worhven, leans down. One of the many officers looks up, expressionless.

“Sir, the Droid has been deployed. Power levels are as predicted. We are just about to initiate the first cloaking tests.”

EXTERIOR: THE PROBE DROID. A hum, and the crackle of still more energy as the Droid glides through the void.

INTERIOR: THE BRIDGE PIT CREW. Several young crewmen intently watch the readouts. A young officer, barely suppressing his excitement, turns to Captain Worhven. “Sir, it works exactly as expected. The Liann engineers appear to have accomplished their objective.”

The bridge of the Star Destroyer, several hours later. The same junior officer approaches Captain Worhven, a worried look on his face. “Captain, all of the tests have been completed. The device works as predicted.”

The captain studies the man for a second, and asks, “What are you not telling me?”

The junior officer responded, “Well, sir, the Droid... performed too well. It has drifted from our sensors. It will probably just smash into a rogue moon or be lost for years out in space. But, we’ve lost it.”

Cut to ...
THE INTERIOR OF THE CHARACTERS’ FREIGHTER ...

The Alliance has sent you to the industrial world of Lianna, a world renowned for its incredible shipyards, and home base of Santhe/Sienar Technologies, makers of everything from simple transports to the Empire’s infamous TIE fighters. Your mission is simply to drop off a data disk bearing some confidential information to Alliance operatives on the planet. This should be a simple layover...

As the hyperdrive kicks back into realspace, the view outside the cockpit goes from travelling through hyperspace to a field of stars, blocked by several ships of all sizes in the player’s path. Before them is greenish blue world of Lianna with Imperial TIE fighters swarming around like annoying gnats. Ships ranging from cargo haulers to private yachts sit in a traffic jam, trying to leave or arrive on this luxurious world.

As you approach closer, a communication from the starport control rings over the cockpit loud speakers.  The voice sounds like a droid rather than a person, but the monotone rhythm is hard to tell. “This is Lianna Starport command Aurek Resh 4 (AR-4).  Please reveal your purpose of arrival?”

OOC: Enjoy the game!! Let me know who is in the cockpit piloting and co-piloting as well as what everyone else is doing.

Re: MISSION TO LIANNA -Episode 1

"Lucky" Luka was sitting in the passenger lounge and was...well...lounging. Waiting. Passing the time. He wasn't a pilot or engineer or gunner. He was a gambler. And after a few 'friendly' games, even though no money was on the line, none of the others really wanted to play any games with him often. And he couldn't blame them.

Still, it made things a little boring when they were flying around, there was only so many times he could look at the rules for various games. The occasional conversation or meal together made things more bearable, however.

He felt the ship shudder slightly as it come out of hyperspace and he perked up, a bit of excitement as that probably meant they were arriving soon and would finally have something to do!

Re: MISSION TO LIANNA -Episode 1

Kris was seated in the piloting seat. She was most comfortable being in control. She shouted from the cockpit. "We're in-system!" The YT-Freighter followed the nav-beacons matching the speed of the other vessels in the area. She responded to the communication, "This is Star of the Tion, YT-1300 Freighter. We have cargo and heading to Lola Curich Starport."

Re: MISSION TO LIANNA -Episode 1

Crix was seated behind pilot's and copilot's chairs--he was a bridge officer, not a pilot, and any good officer knew to let people do what they did best. From his station he scanned over the local comms chatter, listening in for any chatter that might reveal more about why traffic in the system was so backed up, and paying special attention to anything that might complicate their mission.

13:33, Today: Crix Halcorr rolled 12 using 4d6+2.  Communications.

Re: MISSION TO LIANNA -Episode 1

From his position in the co-pilot's seat, Shryke the Gargoyle kept a weather eye on the space surrounding the Star of the Tion, making sure no sudden maneuvers were called for.

"Look at all those ships," he muttered in an awed voice like time grinding mountains to gravel. It was clear the alien hadn't gotten around much.

MISSION TO LIANNA -Episode 1

At the back of the crowded cockpit, the clone stands stoically in his repainted phase two armor and Z-6 jetpack, with his helmet, a transitionary design between the original clone trooper helmets and the new stormtrooper ones, held at his side under his left arm.  He would have preferred a phase one helmet, which look more Mandolorian, but the newer ones have better optics, and filtration, and are lighter.  His big DC-15 rifle is left in his quarters, and he carries only a sidearm, his trusty DC-17 pistol, visibly on his utility belt; most likely, his hold-out is hidden somewhere on his oerson.  He reaches up his gloved right hand to absently scratch at the scar line radiating from just above the line of his neatly trimmed beard.
So, a simple drop off, and then we're on our way again?  His voice is deep, slightly gravelly, when he speaks.
