You manage to get there in a hurry thanks to the rain coming down hard. It was a pretty standard looking diner, like one you've seen elsewhere. Maybe it was one of those prefab ones? Anyway, there wasn't many people inside.

That was just as well.  In Nicole's circles, it generally wasn't good when too many people were around.  Witnesses, and all that.

She went inside, took a seat, and looked over the menu.

She anticipated fish.

There indeed was a lot of fish. Burgers, sandwiches, sausages, almost everything had fish in it. A young woman in a waitress uniform approached you. She had rather large eyes.

"What can I get for you today?"

"...I guess I'll have the fish sandwich," said Nicole.  Simple enough.

You hear the waitress enter the kitchen and shout.

"Cousin on a raft with LTO, frog sticks on the side and a black and white."

...'Cousin on a raft.'  Yeah, that figured.

While she waited for her food, Nicole took in everyone else who was here.

There were several larger men, like the bus driver. They were whispering amongst themselves.

Well, if it was a private conversation, that was fine.

If they were looking her way, though...

There was the occasional glance in your direction.

Troubling, but it wasn't worth worrying about just a few glances.  She ate her food.

It was pretty good. The driver hadn't been lying there.

That was good, at least.  She finished her dinner, tipped well enough, and headed back to the hotel.  Tomorrow, she had people to meet, if nothing went weird.

Of course, things often went weird.

You see the three men from the diner following you, trying to be sneaky.

Nicole turned around.

"Gentlemen," she said, "I'm not looking for company.  Move along.  Don't do something you'll regret briefly and painfully."

"Get her!" one of the said.

"...Really," said Nicole.  There were three of them; charging in might be bad.  Better to keep her distance and fight from range for now, so she did.  Her eyes glowed with occult power, and tattoos hidden on her body glowed purple through her clothes.

"UNLEASH THE SWARM!" she declared, and her demon-hands flew out, multiplying, biting, tearing...

Unleash the Swarm! ((9,8,5,8,2,10,4,5)).

That's 4 successes; it has Multi-Attack, so damage depends on the defense roll on their end.

One of the men is knock flying, the other two took out saps and attacked.

(OOC: Defend against two attacks. One with two success and one with one. They do one damage each if they hit.)

19:00, Today: Nicole Hellsmith rolled 26 using 5d10 with rolls of 10,2,2,9,3.  Dodge.

Nicole skipped out of the way of the attacks, then spun around to unleash her demon fists on the nearest enemy!

Another of the goons was sent flying, landing in a bundle of trash cans. The last one raised his sap high an attacked.

Nicole danced around the attack and went for mighty kick to the thug's head.

And the last thug fell.

One of her demon hands picked one up by the collar; the other slapped it awake.

"All right, bub," she said.  "What's the big idea, picking on a poor girl just eating a fish sandwich in peace?"

The thug started cowering.

"Y-you're a stranger in town, the church doesn't like outsiders!"

"Yeah?  Well, I'm here by invitation, so the church can just back off.  See?" said Nicole.  Tough-guy mannerisms seemed like the way to go with these thugs.

"I ain't got a problem with ya," the thug said. "I'll let 'em know."

"You do that," said Nicole, and she went back to her hotel room.  And she blocked the doors to it before bedtime, too.
