Alana, you may be more than meets the eye, Escorpion says in response, but, when you have nerve endings, a few bullets most certainly do hurt.  Many average humans DIE from being shot by just one, while some can survive several.
I've been shot multiple times, and each one hurt.

My skin is thicker than normal, the nerve endings are.deeper, Escorpion informs, and getting shot still freakin' hurts.

"Geez, yeah. That s**t stings. I mean I'm sure Apex don't care but I sure do."

A short man with the head of a Corgi, or a corgi with the stocky, muscular, anthropomorphic body of a five foot tall human entered the door with a file folder in his hand.

"Course most of 'em are just gonna bounce of her hull, right?", he points at Alana. "Must be nice."

He drops the file on the desk and faces everyone for a second, glancing up at Escorpion before continuing in his slow Mainer drawl.

"Howdy, I'm Terrier, Hound of the Supernatural, OooWeeeOooWeOoo." , He chuckles at himself.

"Hatfield called me in. All joking aside I track magic and supernatural crap better than anyone. No brag."

Agent Force asks, casually, "does he use a special whistle to do that?"
Then AF starts playing with his watch, which beeps, occasionally, but not in synch with the tapping AF continues to utilize in an attempt to quiet the wayward device. After AF strikes the watch with his palm, it gives a squeal and a beep before becoming silent.

"Nah, he just calls me at your mom's house."

He proceeded to shake hands with everyone present, who was willing, starting with Agent Force and ending with a wave at Escorpion on the ceiling.

As AF nods to Terrier and shakes his hand, the corners of AF's lipless mouth stretch slightly upwards as he says, "that would be a hell of a trick. Get me her number, when you get a chance. I got questions."

Gripping the chair, Escorpion stands up on the ceiling.  Perrito got jokes, he says in his raspy vato accent.  He drops to the floor, setting the chair down, and leans down to shake Terrier's hand.  You just might fit in.
So, were you created?  Or are you "natural," Dog?

"Believe it or not I come from a happy home with both parents and 6 siblings."

"Now Mom and Dad, they were genetically engineered in a hellhole and Hatfield helped them escape to this world."

"Something about the transfer gave me some advantages that my parents don't have."

It was clear from the handshakes that one of these "advantages" was a significant level of superhuman (super-corgi?) strength. He was not going for a knuckle crusher, in fact those with super strength of their own it's obvious that he is being careful, but his hand feels like iron, or maybe stone.

"I'm fully cleared to work in the City and I'm here to help in any way that I can."

[Some of you will suspect that Terrier has a permanent version of the power "Dwarfing"]

Ah.  A bit of both, the human mutant replies as he shakes Terrier's hand.  He, too, is careful with his own strength, not sure how strong the dog is.
I'm kinda a combination, too, he says with a bit of a chuckle that can not bring him to smile because of the toughness of his skin.  PapĂ  and my abuelo dealt with all kinds of venomous creatures all their lives, got bit and stung more times than they can count.  I guess it altered their DNA.  I got into playing sports in muddle school, because I seemed to have the strength, the toughness, and the agility for it.
He shrugs as he pauses a moment.  A little bit more than above average, I guess.  Got scholarships to college for football, baseball, and wrestling, didn't have to pay anything.  But, got hurt in a car accident my last year, had a bunch of x-rays taken.  I mean A BUNCH.  I seemed to recover quickly, got back into my normal day-to-day.
Then THIS, he waves his hand in front of his face and over his body to indicate his whole body, began happening to me.  I'm pretty sure all those x-rays activated the junk DNA, that got into my dad and grandpa, and passed to me, making me into Escorpion.  So a bit of accidental biological exposure, combined with exposure to radiation, in my case.

Agent Force drifts back towards Gray Guardian and speaks to him. "You know, it was melted more than scraped, I think. Scraped suggests a line of effect moving across the area and this happened all over at the same time."
"Like the old me was burnt away to give me a chance to be better, do better."
"And how has your day been, so far?"

AF nods, "this time, though, you've got some of your own monsters. So, our best bet is obviously to find the monster and kill it before it attacks. I'm not sure how we'll do the former, but I'm pretty familiar with the latter."
"Doc Roller did a great job with the firearms I'm using, maybe he has some sort of tracking device we could use to find this monster. Maybe a tracer bug that can be thrown to stick to a target, permitting them to be easily tracked, could be of use. I'll have to ask if we have anything like that already before I try to talk Doc into making one."

Pulling his phone from his pocket, Agent Force sends a message to the armory asking if they have such a tracking device and could he get a half dozen and a receiver.

Despite the roll you both have some success.

The maps are recently printed, and are also projected on some of the monitors in the room, and have been updated with intel shared by Sector 10 and ARC:US's own resources.

Areas believed to be controlled by, or heavily under the influence of the Reina Cartel are circled in Red.

Areas of increased "Supernatural" activity are circled in Green.

"Yes. But we'll need to obscure our identities while we're scoping it out. Especially if we're checking the places marked in red. I'm of the opinion we should check where the Reina cartel overlaps supernatural activity first. The cartel people are already monsters, it wouldn't do for them to become unearthly monsters."
Agent Force glances individually at Alana, Terrier, Escorpion, and the Grey Guardian before he mumbles, "sh&*@%*."
"Ok. So, I can pass as normal with a little effort. Anyone else got any tricks for that?"
