There are now areas of the world that have recovered from the Fall and provide habitable environments, but those areas that have not yet done so are known as the Wilderlands. Vast spaces of barren and hostile lands still make up the majority of earth's surface. Rocky, mountainous landscape and dark skies stretch out for thousands and thousands of miles.
