Re: Mission 1 Scene 1: Landing Zone

The leader fixes her gaze upon the Revenant. "You are a dead thing. The goddess has tasked us with controlling the dead things. You will submit." Another prayer to Lanala cursing the bandaged one follows. Possibility energy flows through the leader, enhancing the effect.

<Red>OOC:
Faith 14 -1 Wound +4 Bonus = 17. Good success vs. Revenant's Faith of 8. -2 to actions for the next 3 rounds.
19:10, Today: Gotak Leader rolled 7 using 1d20, rerolling max with rolls of 7.  Curse vs. Revenant.
19:11, Today: Gotak Leader rolled 3 using 1d20, rerolling max with rolls of 3.  Possibility spent on Curse of Revenant. Counts as +10, making the total die roll 17 (+4 bonus)

Lanala weighs heavily on Jacob's heart, imposing a -2 on actions for the next 3 rounds.

Re: Mission 1 Scene 1: Landing Zone

The gospog gravitate to the nearest non-edeinos to them. Most of them were near the gotaks, so four descend upon Johnny while one each takes Ivan, Case, and Ash. Claws attempt to rip the life out of them.

OOC:

Unarmed 10 + 3 Combined Action - 6 bonus =8. Fail vs. Melee 12
19:20, Today: Gospog 1st Planting rolled 19 using 1d20, rerolling max.  4 claws vs. Johnny.

Unarmed 10 -8 bonus =2 Fail vs. Unarmed 12.
19:19, Today: Gospog 1st Planting rolled 2 using 1d20, rerolling max.  Claw vs. Ivan.

Unarmed 10 +1 bonus =11 Good vs. Unarmed 6. Damage 10 +1 bonus damage = 11 vs. Toughness 9 results in 2 shock.
19:18, Today: Gospog 1st Planting rolled 13 using 1d20, rerolling max.  Claw vs. Case.
20:27, Today: Gospog 1st Planting rolled 1 using 1d6, rerolling max.  Bonus die damage vs. Case.

Attack vs. Ash Mishaps, causing an automatic failure.
19:18, Today: Gospog 1st Planting rolled 1 using 1d20, rerolling max.  Claw vs. Ash.

Claws fly everywhere but successful parrying and evasion block most of it. Case, on the other hand, is struck by a claw, but the Kevlar vest blocks most of it, resulting in 2 Shock suffered. OOC from Gamemaster: Case can spend a Possibility and test Reality at DN 10 to avoid this Shock. The followup assumes that he won't.

OOC
Yeah for shock I'll almost never spend a possibility to soak barring truly desperate circumstances (a KO & likely defeat test afterwards;-).

In reply to Gamemaster (msg # 39):

Jacob saw her...Rashida. it was impossible-he had see her die. It had been his last sight as a living man. There she was, before him, in that evening dress. Reaching out to him just like at that night at the club. Just before Dr Moebius' men threw the grenade.

"No...its not real!" He said, drawing back from the lizard person as if she was repelling him.

OOC-doing active defense. Rolled a 5, but I cant do any worse than a +1 to my defenses.

Re: Mission 1 Scene 1: Landing Zone

Dodging the gospog's claws, Ash turns his M-16 so that he's holding it like a club, and feints an attack with it. Much to his surprise, the gospog overreacts to the trickery, trips, falls backward, and impales itself on branch laying on the ground.

With a shrug, he advances towards the next closest abomination and punches it squarely in what approximates a face, causing it to drop lifeless to the ground.

Tricking the gospog in melee with me, outstanding success for a Player's Call to remove it from the fight
Punching the next closest target for 1 wound, 2 shock

Die Roll: 10+14 = 24 (+8) (note that while I labeled the second roll as 'possibility', I didn't need to use it since the first roll was a 10)
Multiaction Penalty: -2
Total Bonus: +6

Trick: 12+6 = 18; DN 7 = Outstanding
Unarmed Combat: 10+6 = 16; DN 10 = Good (9+6 = 15 damage; 7 above toughness = 1 wound, 2 shock)

21:33, Today: Ash (Alex Wilson) rolled 10 using 1d20.  Trick & Punch.
21:47, Today: Ash (Alex Wilson) rolled 14 using 1d20.  Possibility.
22:01, Today: Ash (Alex Wilson) rolled 7 using 1d6, rerolling max (((6+1)7)). Bonus Dice.

The next nearest target was near Case. The blow prevented the gospog from attempting to bite Case's neck. Case is now free to pursue other targets without fear of becoming Vulnerable for withdrawing from melee.

With the gotak leader not engaged in melee, Case concentrates and sends a burst of fire the gecko's way.

OOC
00:10, Today: Case Morrow rolled 9 using 2d6, rerolling max.  damage (willpower card spent for 22 result).

00:07, Today: Case Morrow rolled 16 using 1d20.  Pyrokinesis gotak leader.

so +8 damage (6 and a 1 on exploding die, and 2 on the other) for 22 Damage total.

Title:Master Plan
DescriptionPick up any card just played or discarded in exchange for this one.
The recovered card may either replace Master Plan in your Action Pool or go
straight into your hand.  You may play the new card immediately.

Into pool.

Re: Mission 1 Scene 1: Landing Zone

OOC, by my count, we have 1 Gospog and 3 Gotaks left, after Johnny goes. He is waiting for people are going for cards, so Trick Gospog All you Want. He will spin it out after.

When you are the outsider in a school of insiders, You learn some things. Johnny no longer remembers those lessons, but the answer to, "What do I do when I am surrounded by monsters?" appears to be uni Multiversal.

"Kayoonquhitt!!" he yells as he 'Powers up' and he spins, katana at waist level literally looking like a blender blade going around. You almost think you see him lift off, but that has to be an optical illusion.

What is not an illusion is the circle of 4 motionless Gospog surrounding him, or the smile on his face as he remains slightly off balance. "Where I Come from, curses make one stronger... Leatherface."

MW12 +4 AOA +8 die -1 curse -6 MT(4) = 17 vs 10 Good hits
Damage 12(+BD) vs 8, guaranteed Wd, no need to roll BD.

Die roll 22, +8
20:42, Today: Johnny Ichii rolled 12 using 1d20.  Is Quiz an art?
21:24, Today: Johnny Ichii rolled 8 using 1d20.  Last one (possibility, adds 10 to die for 22, +8 bonus)

Pedal back from intent, stay Vulnerable, 1 shock removing Very. Pooling Second Wind.

Taunt is RP only, non-mechanical.

Re: Mission 1 Scene 1: Landing Zone

Ivan nearly showed an expression as he drew his knife. He didn't of course, but he was smiling inside. LL types always thought they held the advantage when they closed to melee, but he was just as dangerous in melee as in fire combat, something that had come as a brief nasty surprise to a great many lizards. Pithing the gospog with a (yep, you guessed it) headshot he moved in a blur, doing the same to the gotak leader.

Supporter enters action pool.

OOC: 12:35, Today: Ivan Borovich (Headshot) rolled 5 using 1d20.  Possibility. Adds 10 for die roll of 14.
12:27, Today: Ivan Borovich (Headshot) rolled 4 using 1d20.  Attack.
14 overall, +1. Called Shot takes -4 for +4 damage.

Whirlwind, no penalty for multiple attacks.
Gospog 15+1 bonus -4 Called Shot (head) -1 curse=11. Standard success vs. Unarmed 10. Damage 14+4 (vital blow) =18. 2 Wounds (defeated), Gotak leader is 15+1 bonus - 4 Called Shot (head) -1 curse =11. Standard success vs. unarmed 11. 13+4 = 17. 1 Wound 2 Shock (defeated for exceeding Wound Limit).

The remaining gotaks, seeing their leader and their latest crop destroyed before their eyes, retreat into the mist.

OOC: They take off at Rush speed for both of their Flurry actions, resulting in them being 54 meters away. They are also in the mist, imposing an additional -4 Concealment penalty. If the group wishes to let them escape, the combat ends here. Otherwise, anything the group wants to do takes place next round.

This will cause the scene to end. All cards return to hand. Anyone with more than 4 Destiny cards must discard. Anyone with fewer than 4 Destiny cards will draw up to 4. Then, anyone may discard one Destiny Card and replace it. Case has played a Cosm Card. Anyone else who wants to do so may, and I will integrate them into the next scene. Once all this is done, I will close this thread and start another for the next scene.

Jacob was staring at Rashida...who then vanished as the Lizard Priestess went down. He just looked down at the body of the reptile humanoid, and shook his head. As he moved to put his pistol back in its holster, he found he had crushed the grip, making the weapon useless without repairs. He had been gripping it so tightly it had broken.

He swore in Farsi, and proceeded to put the remains of the gun in one of his trench coat's many pockets."Perfect! Great! What else can go wrong!?" He said, clear sarcasm in his voice, as well as plently of anger. He did strip the brass knuckles from the pistol grip, and lined his left hand's knuckles with the metal.

OOC-webbly pistol broken.

From Gamemaster: Jacob has gained 2 Possibilities

Ivan wiped his blade, sheathed it, then changed mags. At least, he started to change mags, then stopped, staring in dismay at the corroded remnants of what this morning had been perfectly good 5.45B in the new mag. Stripping the clip with a 'Mph' of frustration, he discarded the useless ammo and moved on.

Ivan loses his rifle ammo.
