Mission 1 Scene 1: Landing Zone

After getting a blank stare from the Russian towering over him, Petty Officer Cream turns and exits the conference room. "Agents, if you will follow me."

After what seems like an eternity going from one end of the ship to the other, the sailor takes you to a motorboat in a cargo hold. He motions to it. "Get in. We'll lower you to the ocean surface, and then you can start the motor and head in. There's a small break in the storm ahead. It's a bit of a detour, but if you have ever been in a reality storm, you will realize it's best to avoid the brunt of them when possible."

The boat pilot (OOC: I would suggest Ivan do this as he has the best roll) starts up the boat and heads for the small hole in the wall of gray clouds punctuated by blue and red lightning strikes. As you pass through it, you can feel the shift in reality. OOC: Living Land axioms and world laws are now in effect, and Cosm Cards are forthcoming.

A quick turn to the right and you head for the remains of New York City. As Quinn mentioned, the first available landing spot is Battery Park. From there, "all" you would have to do is cross it to get to the buildings. Given the reports that this is where the gospog are being grown, this may not be the best landing spot.

The other option is to find a spot further upriver. This would avoid the gospog, but would risk being spotted by edeinos patrols. You would need to make a Combined Stealth test. This is Standard difficulty (DN 10) and can be done by whichever character you want, but would suffer from a -4 penalty because there are five of you trying to avoid detection. Which way do you proceed?

In reply to Gamemaster (msg # 1):

Mooncutter, given the situation you had with One-Eye, I would like to assign you to another team. I don't want your personal feud to interfere with the mission.

Mission 1 Scene 1: Landing Zone

"I say we go for the Gospog. If they are up, we can probably sneak past them easier than Edeinos. If not: Quin Sebastian talked about them like plants. Maybe we can damage the crop a little on our way through." Johnny always looks confident, but this time his confidence looks forced.

Case looks at the shoreline, the ruins even more wild since the bridge fell out of the sky over Citi Field.  "The gospogs are more than plants and the Ukhaan reported that more powerful gospogs come out of the field over time in cycles.  We saw them dragging corpses to Battery Park and it was probably the first one they planted.  They might not be alone either."  The young man shrugs, "But then again who is good at sneaking?"

"Mph" Ivan grunted, taking the controls with quiet confidence. Wasn't all that different to a snow-sled, pravadlik?

He waited patiently for the propeller-heads to decide where they were going.

In reply to Case Morrow (msg # 4):

"I would not say I am good at sneaking. More like I have done it skillfully on occasion. So I get a lucky break every now and again." The Revenant replied. He does draw his Webly pistol with one hand and his whip with the other.

Case looks to the others and shrugs, "I guess the direct route might be best then."

Re: Mission 1 Scene 1: Landing Zone

Moving through the park is a spooky sight, even in the daylight. A light fog hovers over the entire area, and a scent of death fills the air. Several small mounds reminiscent of graves and holes the size of graves to be (or former graves with their occupants removed) dot the landscape, each of which boasts an extra layer of mist above them.

Three edeinos bend over a freshly filled grave. The dead woman inside has had her chest ripped open and one inserts what looks like a peach pit the size of a human heart.

A shriek from behind you alerts the edeinos to your presence. Looking back, humanoid forms made of vines approach. More come from the sides and ahead, cutting off escape. The edeinos begin chanting in their native language.

OOC: You are under attack by 15 gospog and three edeinos gotaks. One gotak is obviously reality rated. Since you were expecting trouble, you aren't surprised by this attack.

Approved Action:IntimidateAdditional?:

OOC: This is a Standard Encounter. So you get an Up on your turn. This means that when you roll for your action, you get another d20 to add to the roll unless you rolled a 1 (auto failure). Intimidate is approved, so if you succeed at intimidating at least one target, you get an additional Destiny Card before you decide which card to put into the pool at the end of your turn. You may take your turns in any order.

Re: Mission 1 Scene 1: Landing Zone

A bit nervous traipsing through the field of the dead, Case nearly jumps out of skin with the approach of the gospogs.  However his demeanor noticeably changes in a second as his training takes over and he scans the field almost coldly.  Identifying the biggest threat (reality rated gotak) a burst of flame arcs from him to burn the gotak as he offers his next target a feral smile.

OOC
Wait for any interaction attacks before attacking-

Multi-action Pyrokinesis on the reality rated gotak and intimidation on a gotak standing nearby.

17:14, Today: Case Morrow rolled 11 using 1d20.  Pyrokinesis & Intimidate.
17:14, Today: Case Morrow rolled 20 using 1d20.  Up.
17:15, Today: Case Morrow rolled 6 using 1d20.

So roll of 37 (for kinesis)
for a +11
25 result for kinesis (pretty sure that will be an outstanding result)

17:23, Today: Case Morrow rolled 4 using 2d6, rerolling max
so 18 damage

Transferred to Pool-

Title:Willpower
DescriptionAdd +3 to the total of a single Charisma, Mind or Spirit test, or a skill test
based on such attribute.  You may play this card after learning the result level of the
test but before applying its effect.
