Introduction Thread

Hello!
I have tried everything to get a Sulu image. I am hoping most of us can register Checkov and see Sulu.

Introduction Thread

Hiya, I'll be playing Case, your friendly neighborhood Core Earth psychic.

I currently run a Torg Eternity game for my (mainly) local band of miscreants on Roll20 (rather than tabletop) largely due to recent events.  I have run oTorg a few sessions in the past (back in the 90s) but my gang generally preferred White Wolf WoD games and then latter 3rd ed D&D at the time.  Torg is one of those games I always wanted to play (not GM) but could never find an opportunity.  I recently got back into pbp (again due to recent events) so looking forward to see how this one develops.

I generally post daily, with replies ranging from a single sentence 'me too' post (if I don't have anything to add just so the game isn't waiting on me) to a couple of paragraphs at times.  I seem to catch GM posts pretty quickly after they are posted and don't hesitate to hit reply (again I don't procrastinate and I've seen pbps really slow down because everyone it waiting to see what others are doing first before posting ironically;-), so don't worry about 'stepping on my toes' if you have a different course of action but I've posted beforehand.  No problem with adjusting to suit or working with any breadcrumbs you seed into your posts (roleplay or otherwise).

As a side note the closest thing I could find to Pan Pacifica Sulu is this...

Happy gaming!

In reply to Case Morrow (msg # 3):

That is awesome, unfortunately, Johnny is young Sulu :)

I check RPoL multiple times every day, if I haven't posted in 4 hours, it is likely because I don't want anyone else feeling like I am pushing them.

<shrug> I usually have other things to do in 4 hours;-).  I generally don't care who posts first and don't expect player postage faster than 'courtesy leeway' of email (which is no longer than 3 days) to no more than a week.  This isn't Shakespeare and if a player can't take a few minutes in a week even for a 'me-to' post or a heads-up, ime that tends to drag a game more than anything else.  It's more the GM posts I find sets the pace anyway.

Barring vacation or unexpected situation, a game of this type I usually look for some GM resolution one way or the other about after a week (or a heads up from the GM the game's at a slower rate).  Granted, I've played long running successful games for years that had a cycle rate of once a month or longer, but those were usually strategy pbems (with a lot of diplomacy in-between and post-turn) or snail mail pbms(or both).

Re: Introduction Thread

I sense a lot of all caps in our future.  Nile Empire is probably my favorite cosms.

Though they did 'fix' Living Land quite a bit for TE imo compared to oTorg.

Re: Introduction Thread

NE was always awesome.
LL I found suffered more from a lack of Player Imagination than anything else, though the TE setting gives more inspiration to fix that.
I actually miss the Business Machinations of the old NT, though PP is probably a better setting (Waiting is).
CP was my favorite. I don't like what TE did to it, but I accept the necessity. And it is still an excellent Cosm.

Re: Introduction Thread

I'm still on the fence about a few things (from what I've seen with my Roll20 game).  oTorg had a number of subsystems I liked (or didn't mind) that they did away with trying to keep things as rules lite as possible.  Perks are a part of that in that they do help in some respects they also remove some fiddly bits of oTorg I liked.
