Copenhagen Scene 4: Exploring the Ruins

The church policeman dragged out by Jacob's whip calls for a friend to come out and try to distract Johnny to give him enough time to free himself. However, the other officer is tricked by the illusion and stumbles over an invisible dead turtle.

It took extraordinary effort to first reconnect (Reconnect card used) but also to find that sliver of reality where the shot did not cause bloodshed, but Void found it in the nick of time. Still, she decided to scream as though it had hit home, distracting the attacker that was not held by Jacob's whip and triggering what little was left of his conscience.

The fact that they not only failed to ambush you but also are dropping like flies has an impact on the ones still standing. One of them holds his hand up and pushes a button near his throat, causing his voice to amplify as though being blast through loudspeakers.

"Hold your fire! It is clear you are not elves. If you will agree not to give us to them, we will cooperate!"

In reply to Church Police (msg # 44):

Despite that, Jacob makes sure to disarm them in case they have any hidden weapons. At the end of the day, these people served the high lords. They where helping the enemy conquer and kill countless innocents. A quick death would be too good for them, but Jacob was no torturer. Besides, it did not actually work for getting info. He did make sure they where restrained however, using his lengths of rope.

Each officer carries a gun that fires needle-like projectiles, a riot stick, and a crucifix that appears to be made from circuitry. They are wearing an advanced form of body armor that covers their full body, lighter than Kevlar but just as effective in stopping projectiles. The group is able to remove this equipment from the officers without objection.

Additionally, a machine is found projecting the image of the French cathedral onto the original building. This can be disabled with a simple switch. Inside the building, ten backpacks of gear and rations are piled in a corner.

"Our orders are to assist Brother Laplace as he directs in retrieval of previously unknown technology. His efforts attracted the attention of Pharaoh Mobius, who dispatched an archaeological team.

"Brother Laplace found a report saying that, with the arrival of Aysle, a previously locked ancient technology had emerged in Sweden, at a place called Lake Armsvartnir. Trouble is, no Core Earth map shows Lake Armsvartnir. So Brother Laplace took the majority of the Techquisition forces with him to Sweden to search for this lake. We were left behind to hamper efforts to chase him, either from Delphi Council agents like you or from Nile Empire forces."
