Injuries Update

I have decided to use a variation of Jay Rutley's Injury cards to replace the Torg: Eternity rules for Injury after a Defeat Test. If the Defeat suggests an Injury, one of the following will affect your character. This will result in a card called "[Character]'s [Injury]" to be shuffled into the Destiny Deck for the duration of the injury. If that card appears, the injury's effects will take place, a new card will be drawn for the person who would have received it, and the Destiny Deck (including the Injury) will be reshuffled.

Feel free to offer suggestions for other possible injuries.

Injury:Blurred Vision
DescriptionThe situation triggers vision problems brought on from a previous injury. The character's penalty to vision-based actions (including attacks) suffer a Concealment Penalty as though the darkness level is one step greater (so normal lighting is -2, dim lighting is -4, and Dark or Pitch Black lighting is -6).

Injury:Body Pain
DescriptionA past injury has caused the character to feel pain more acutely than normal. That character suffers one additional Shock when hit by attacks for the remainder of the scene.

Injury:Concussion
DescriptionThe situation triggers residual effects from a previous concussion. For the remainder of the scene, the character plays Destiny Cards into their Action Pool randomly instead of choosing.

Injury:Homesickness
DescriptionThe situation triggers a desire to return to the character's home cosm. The character loses one Possibility. Priority is given to Possibilities from foreign cosms, then to standard Possibilities. If the character has no Possibilities, they Disconnect.

Injury:Limp
DescriptionA past injury has caused the character to suffer from a limp, which affects the current situation. That character may not use Rush movement and is Disfavored if using Dexterity to resolve a Chase. These effects last for the remainder of the scene.

Injury:Malaise
DescriptionThe situation triggers a feeling of malaise in the character. This character's Concentration penalties are doubled, and cannot act before any character who does not have Malaise triggered for the remainder of the scene.

Injury:Melancholy
DescriptionThe situation triggers melancholy feelings from the past. That character must add this card to their hand of Destiny Cards. They may not play, trade, or discard this card for the remainder of the act except as noted below. At the end of each scene, one other character may make a DN 20 medicine test or a DN 15 Charisma test. If successful, this card can be discarded when resetting Destiny Cards.

Injury:Memory Lapse
DescriptionThe situation triggers a memory lapse stemming from a previous injury. This character must discard one Destiny Card from their hand or Action Pool. Their test on Mind and related skills suffer a -2 penalty for the remainder of the scene.

Injury:Nerve Damage
DescriptionThe situation triggers recurring nerve damage from the past. That character must add this card to their hand of Destiny Cards. They may not play, trade, or discard this card for the remainder of the act except as noted below. At the end of each scene, one other character may make a DN 20 medicine test or a DN 15 Strength test. If successful, this card can be discarded when resetting Destiny Cards.

Injury:Panic Attacks
DescriptionThe situation triggers a panic attack. That character cannot spend a Possibility unless they first discard a Destiny Card fro their hand or Action Pool for the remainder of the scene.

Injury:Parasthesia
DescriptionA past injury has caused the character to feel tingly in their limbs, causing a temporary loss of fine motor control. That character suffers a -2 penalty to actions that require fine motor skills (including spells, miracles, melee and ranged attack rolls) for the remainder of the scene.

Injury:Scars
DescriptionThe scars of a previous injury trigger distrust or fear in the people around you. That character suffers 1 Shock immediately and all their tests based on social interactxion suffer a -2 penalty for the remainder of the scene.

Injury:Shortness of Breath
DescriptionA past injury has caused the character to suffer from shortness of breath. That character suffers one additional Shock on a Fatigue result for the remainder of the scene.

Injury:Torn Ligaments
DescriptionThe situation aggravates ligaments torn from a previous injury. That character suffers a -2 to Strength and damage totals based on Strength for the remainder of the scene.

Injury:Trauma
DescriptionThe situation triggers a hidden trauma from the character's past. That character must make a DN 10 willpower/Spirit test. Failure results in the character being unable to play Destiny Cards for the remainder of the scene.
