OOC thread...

If one of them is your Chosen, be sure to remember to say which! (You don't have to say right away if you're fine with me interacting with either in whatever way I choose)...

I am very eager to start.

I will try to do something over the weekend.  Still working this evening.

I will make an In-Game thread for when the time comes.

Hmm... one more thing...

It feels to me like we're headed toward starting with this:

--Humans have fire, irrigation, sailing, iron use, windmills... Humans have no gunpowder, compass not quite here yet, no clockworks.

But... shall the world be a round planet, or flat?

How about a number of flat plains (call them realms) orbit around each other.
When they get close portals open up between them and when they move away the portals close.
At any one time there is always two portal connecting any one realm to the others.

If you have ever seen the film Flash Gordon 1980 it like flying realm/kingdoms in that.
If you like the idea then we need to decide if there is one main large realm or group of large realm all about the same size.  Which ever we go with there will also be some smaller realms as well.

What do you think?

Again if you really don't like this idea we go for a flat earth.

NOTE: the world, before you start changing/adding things:
--has only humans as self-aware sentients
--has no "demi-human" races (yet)
--has no deities (yet)
--has only currently-normal earth animals (no dinosaurs, no sabertooths, no wooly mammoths either) (yet)
--has no magic spell-casting that humans can do (none that actually works, anyway) (yet)
--is a huge flat-surfaced thing
--has one yellowish sun, one light-gray moon, normal stars

So no elves or dwarves :(

I am still here and thinking about my first post.

If you want to add any more points like this, it would help.
Some of my idea's on my first post would have had to have changed without these points.

So would I be right in saying that the first use of magic by humans would be though or using magic items.  That would change how I view things and could be interesting to develop.

If you want them, I can start making them happen fast... especially if you make some sort of magical thing that can change people...

I see MAGIC as, primarily, a force of change in the universe... just like gravity or radiation, except that Magic makes things Weirder (faster and more unpredictably than radiation...)


Since you suggested having that plushie item belong to a mage, I was thinking that in this world mages will START OUT as being more like sages... natural scientists... reading lots of old books and scrolls, experimenting with chemicals and things... but that it usually only works because of natural laws. Like they can't make healing potions yet, but they'll figure out that powdered willow bark really will help kill pain a bit, and things like that.


Basically, your first post should be about two magical items (I'm presuming one will be the plushie).

Then every other post from you should either:
--create a new magical item OR A TYPE of magical items, or
--revisit a magical item already created and say that something else happens with it.

It's going to be like you are a historian of this world that only specializes in Magical Item History.

...Except that you can post in present tense if you want.
