As an extension of the Character Creation Thread, Ill be posting the custom races that I've made to fill up the world of Ravnica, and give players a few more options past the core rules that are in theme for the world.
Doppelganger (11 RP)
Standard Racial Traits
Ability Score Modifier: +2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma, -2 Strength
Type: Dopplegangers are
Humanoid creatures with the
Shapechanger Subtype
Size: Dopplegangers are Medium creatures.
Base Speed: 30ft
Languages: Doppelgangers begin with Ravi, and can learn any language if they have a high intelligence score.
Feat and Skill Racial Traits
Bonus Feat Dopplegangers select 1 extra feat at 1st level.
Magical Racial Traits
Shapeshift(Su): A Doppelganger can assume the form of any human that she has seen before, and gains a +10 bonus to Disguise as that humanoid. Changing Shape is a Standard action. This works as
Alter Self, except that you can maintain the form indefinitely, and do not gain any adjustments to your ability scores.
Loxodon (8 RP)
Standard Racial Traits
Ability Score Modifier: +2 Strength, +2 Wisdom, -2 Dexterity
Type: Loxodons are
Humanoid creatures with the Loxodon Subtype
Size: Loxodons are Medium creatures
Base Speed: 20ft, but are unaffected by armor or encumbrance penalties to your speed.
Languages: Loxodons begin with Ravi and Loxodon, and can learn any language if they have a high intelligence score.
Defensive Racial Traits
Leathery Hide: Loxodon gain a +2 Natural Armor bonus
Movement Racial Traits
Unstoppable Charge: While Charging, Loxodon get a +20 racial bonus to their base speed, and gain a +2 racial bonus to damage for all attacks they make in a round they charged.
Offence Racial Traits
Tusks: Loxodons have a Gore
Natural Attack that deals 1d6 Damage.
Homunculus (10 RP)
Standard Racial Traits
Ability Score Modifier: +2 to any Two ability Scores
Type: Homunculus are
Monsterous Humanoids
Size: Homunculus are Small Creatures
Base Speed: 20ft
Languages: Homunculus begin with Ravi, and can learn any language if they have a high intelligence score.
Feat and Skill Racial Traits
Purpose Built: Choose a Skill, you gain a +2 Racial Bonus to that skill.
Specialized: You gain
Skill Focus as a bonus feat, this must be taken in the skill selected with Purpose Built
Viashino (12 RP)
Standard Racial Traits
Ability Score Modifer: +4 Dexterity, -2 Charisma, -2 Constitution
Type: Viashino are
Humanoids with the
Reptilian subtype
Size: Viashino are Medium creatures
Base Speed: 30ft
Languages: Viashino begin with Ravi, and can learn from the following list if they have a high inteligence score: Utvar Grull, Ogrish, Goblin, Minotaur, Troll, Abyssal, Loxodon.
Defensive Racial Traits
Desert Runner: Viashino receive a +4 racial bonus on Constitution checks and Fortitude saves to avoid fatigue and exhaustion, as well as any other ill effects from running, forced marches, starvation, thirst, and hot or cold environments.
Draconic Scales: Viashino get Fire Resistance 10.
Offence Racial Traits
Slashing Tail: Viashino have a Tail
Natural Attack that deals 1d8 slashing damage with a reach of 5ft. Viashino also get 1 extra Attack of Opportunity that can only be used with this tail attack, while it is being used for an attack of opportunity, it is treated as a Primary
Natural Attack.
Dryad (15 RP)
Standard Racial Traits
Ability Score Modifier: +4 Wisdom, -2 Stength, -2 Intelligence
Type: Dryad are
Plant Type
Size: Dryad is Medium
Base Speed: 30 ft
Languages: Dryads begin with Ravi, and can learn any language if they have a high intelligence score.
Magical Racial Traits
Plantspeak: The Dryad is has a constant
Speak With Plants. This functions as the spell, except that it works in anti-magic zones and cannot be dispelled.
Centaur (15 RP)
Standard Racial Traits
Ability Score Modifier: +2 Strength, +2 Wisdom, -2 Dexterity
Type: Centaurs are
Monsterous Humanoids
Size: Centaurs are Large
Base Speed: 40ft
Reach: Centaurs have a natural reach of 5ft.
Languages: Centaurs begin with Ravi and Utvar Grull, and can learn any language if they have a high intelligence score.
Offence Racial Traits
Hooves: Centaurs gain 2 Hoof
Natural Attacks. These are Secondary Attacks.
Thunderous Charge: When you charge, you may attack with multiple Hoof
Natural Attacks granted by Centaur, you cannot attack with Hoof
Natural Attacks from other sources. All Hoof attacks used with this racial ability are treated as Primary attacks for the charge attacks, dealing rolling twice the number of dice for damage, and adding 1-1/2 Strength to the attack.
Simic Hybird
(I encourage the use of variant racial traits to customize this race and make it unique, as the basic race is intentionally similar to human)
Standard Racial Traits (14 RP)
Ability Score Modifier: +2 to any Two ability Scores
Type: Simic Hybrids are
Aberrations with the
Augmented Humanoid Subtype
Size: Simic Hybrids are Medium or Small, You must choose during character creation.
Base Speed: 30ft.
Languages: Simic Hybrids begin with Ravi, and can learn any language if they have a high intelligence score.
Feat and Skill Racial Traits
Skilled: Simic Hybrids gain an additional skill rank at 1st level and one additional skill rank whenever they gain a level.
Bonus Feat: Simic Hybrids select one extra feat at 1st level.
Simic Hybrid Variant Racial Traits
- Armored Shell(+2 RP): You gain an exceptionally tough exoskeleton, letting you glance blows that might otherwise harm you. Gain a +2 Natural Armor Bonus. This trait lowers your speed to 20ft. If youre Medium size, your speed cant be further lowered by armor and encumbrance.
- Piercing Claws(-2 RP): Long crab-like claws sprout from beneath your arms, you are unable to use them dexterously, but they can be devastating in combat. Gain 2 Pincer Natural Attacks. This trait replaces Bonus Feat.
- Cognition(+0 RP): Your mind is is enhanced by the changes. You gain a +2 racial bonus to a mental ability score of your choice. This trait replaces Skilled.
- Refinement(+0 RP): your body is refined by the changes. You gain a +2 racial bonus to a physical ability score of your choice. This trait replaces Bonus Feat.
- Sneaky(+1 RP): the soles of your feet have developed vibration canceling pads, allowing you to move with much greater stealth. Gain a +4 Racial Bonus to Stealth. This trait replaces Skilled.
- Gliding Wings(-1 RP): You have developed simple wings upon your back, and while they cant be used to fly, they can be used to slow your fall and glide, a handy trick when traversing the rooftops of Ravnica. take no damage from falling (as if subject to a constant non-magical feather fall spell). While in midair, members of this race can move up to 5 feet in any horizontal direction for every 1 foot they fall, at a speed of 60 feet per round. A member of a race with gliding wings cannot gain height with these wings alone; it merely coasts in other directions as it falls. If subjected to a strong wind or any other effect that causes a creature with gliding wings to rise, it can take advantage of the updraft to increase the distance it can glide. This trait replaces Bonus Feat.
