A long time ago in a galaxy far,
far away....
STAR WARS
KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC
EPISODE I
THE INVISIBLE HAND
It is a time of peace. The Mandalorian Wars
have come to an end thanks to the intervention
of the Jedi Knights REVAN and MALAK. With so
much of the Republic fleet and Jedi Order
having continued deep into the Unknown
Regions, the Republic now has to rebuild its
defenses and recover before the next disaster
strikes.
Remnants of the Mandalorian forces continue
fighting, now as mere bandits or mercenaries
rather than a unified fighting force. Greedy
corporations have moved to fill in the gaps in
the post-war economy, exploiting refugees and
the letter of the law. Organized crime has
spread its influence ever deeper into what was
once legitimate business.
Troubleshooting teams across the Galaxy,
mercenaries in the employ of the Republic,
help pick up the pieces. From starfighter
squadrons to couriers, ground assault teams to
third party diplomats, anyone with a skill has
been offered good credits to help keep the
government on its feet during the recovery.
One such team on the planet TELOS IV has been
tasked with locating a lost irrigation
inspector who disappeared after entering a
CZERKA CORP checkpoint....
A vast complex of pipes and buildings dotted the glacier, directing ice floes away from the frozen north. The water traveled hundreds of miles through several filtration units, sensor systems, and droid-operated distribution networks to be sourced all over Telos IV. A web of irrigation systems covered the planet, sending fresh, clean water to distant cities and farmlands alike. Biggy Loe's crew stood before one of the smaller buildings, only reaching up to about 30 meters in height and width, all told, but also extending back 100 or so. Their directions identified this as Czerka Irrigation Checkpoint 003, the last known location of AgriCorp inspector Pato Bata.
Biggy and his associates were approached by TSF Lt. Trayl Caltos to investigate, as his forces were too busy with higher priority peacekeeping tasks. Mercenary forces would have to do.
The checkpoint's purpose was to ensure the water flow was adequate and met minimum safety standards. There was hardly room enough here for anything to go too far awry. The structure was as grey and bland as its surroundings were red with grass and orange with trees. The water had come a long way already. All that was left was to step inside and begin the job.
