Dramatis Personae (Important NPCs)
Residents of Helix and the Duchy
- Billworth Turgen: Prominent local merchant. Owner of Turgen’s Trade Goods. Involved in a great deal of trade with Ironguard Motte.
- Bollo: Innkeeper and owner of The Brazen Strumpet. Known for his generous nature.
- Brother Othar: Priest at the Shrine of St. Ygg. Knowledgeable of church history and the history of the Middle Frontier.
- Cella the Devotee: Acolyte of St Ygg who serves at the Shrine with Brother Othar.
- Derica Ironguard: Daughter of Lord Viscount Kell Ironguard, ruler of the Duchy of Aerik. Tasked with the safeguarding of Helix, a responsibly she inherited from her older brother Krothos, when he was removed from the position and jailed.
- Guildmaster Osen: Head of the Mercenary Guild in Helix. The guild provides hirelings for several undertakings, but predominantly for the guarding of merchant caravans and bounty hunting.
- Harnald Huffnpuff: Proprietor of The Rosy Quartz Jeweler and Money Lender. Said to have a weakness for fine food and drink.
- Karg Barrelgut: Accomplished blacksmith and owner of The Axe and Anvil.
- Lady Sidonie of Torringcroft: A knight of renown and member of the Order of the Crimson Cross, an order of knights dedicated to the service of St. Ygg. Serves Derica Ironguard as the head of Helix’s guard.
- Lord Viscount Kell Ironguard: Duke and ruler of the Duchy of Aerik. Resides in Ironguard Motte. Dedicated to the protection of his people.
- Mazzahs theMagnificent: A wizard of renown who came to Helix due to his concerns regarding the ancient Barrowmaze. One of the village’s protectors.
- Merida: Dark haired server at The Brazen Strumpet. Her appearance suggests her ancestry is from the Southern Steppes.
- Norbert Stidz: Alchemist and potion vendor. Extremely anxious by nature.
- Perri Ticklebottom: Proprietress of The Foul Pheasant, a gambling den of questionable repute in Helix, which was burned to the ground. Two attempts to rebuild it have been unsuccessful.
- Tamson: Son of the village miller and a capable outdoorsman like his father. Has served as a guide for the party on the Barrowmoor.
- Taycee: Server at The Brazen Strumpet and aspiring armorer. Kindhearted and honest. In a romantic relationship with Malivoire.
- Thrasisk: King of the lizard folk who dwell in the Barrowmoor.
- Urgritte: Server at The Brazen Strumpet. Hails from the Northern Kingdoms. Has served as the inn’s informal bouncer when other help is not available.
- Valeron: Helix’s bowyer. Also a scout of considerable ability. Leads annual expeditions into the Blackened Forest to harvest the silk made by the giant spider which dwell there.
- Yllasys: One of the leaders of the elven people who reside in the Thornswild Forest. Highly respected for her wisdom. Friend to Duke Ironguard.
