Re: OOC THREAD

Help me, please, someone . . .

A scrapper gets a -1 insightful bonus, which means the scrapper rolls one die when trying to insult someone.  Which further means they can't hurt anyone with insult, because the most they could roll is a 5 and you need to get at least a 7.  So, a scrapper is not likely to cause non physical damage.

BUT the scrapper gets an advantage if they could actually cause non physical damage.

BUT the scrapper is not likely, if ever, going to be able to cause non physical damage.

I have to be missing something . . . what is it?

Re: OOC THREAD

Hoh, maybe you've found a hidden secret or flaw of the scrappers skill. You have a low chance in actually insulting someone. Unless you invest in insight as you level,  but you'd run the risk of falling behind the others. However who knows, maybe you can earn a magical items that gives extra die for insults.

In reply to Raga (msg # 48):

I believe the rule is wrong, and the GM missed it when he modified the original rules set.

That rule should probably read that you do harm on a 4-5, but are open to retaliation, and on a 6 you do harm without being open to retaliation.

Re: OOC THREAD

Got in an IC update… enough to move the scene along… and will be afk again shortly (work).

While I’m away feel free to nominate our guide and get it done… to see if we get there or have some sort of encounter :). I left some Ooc musings in the IC thread about who might be best to do it.

.
quote:
Travel Elsewhere:
When you have to move to one quarter of the city to another, pick one kid to lead the group. That kid will roll Insightful... Unless they're a Sneaky Kid, in which case they can roll Agile.
--On 5 or 6: You get to where you're going without anyone seeing you.
--On 3 or 4: Halfway to where you're going, someone (or something?) sees you (from at least 15 feet away) that you wish hadn't spotted you. They might chase you...!
--On 1 or 2: You run right into someone (or something?) sees you (from at least 15 feet away) that you wish hadn't spotted you!

HOWEVER, there are some other modifiers:
--If you have to travel to, from, or through the Catacombs under the city, Weird Kids get a +1 bonus to lead the way (max of 3d6). (So do Proteges of the Shadows.)
--If you have to travel to, from, or across the Rooftops of the city, Sneaky Kids get an extra +1 (max of 3d6).
--If you have to travel to, from, or through the Alleyways of the city, Nice Kids, Wise Kids, or Smart Kids get an extra +1 (max of 3d6).
--If you're just travelling to, from, or through the Streets of the city, and you're not one of the types of kids listed above, you get an extra +1 (max of 3d6).

This is correct.

I have corrected the rule for that move.

IN OTHER NEWS, we have an application for a sixth player-- a 10-year-old (equivalent) goblin Wise Kid (druid, in other words).

I'm inclined to accept right away, BUT wanted to make sure it was okay with you guys, because-- again-- I'm inclined to pretend player 6 has been with us on the stoop along.

Any objections?

Re: OOC THREAD

On the subject of walking around, Jaffa is a Nice Kid (wow, what a surprise), so she'd just be rolling one d6 unless we used the alleyways, I think. Dinkar seems like our best choice so far!

Hah, agreed, we should let Dinkar be our guide. If he makes a mistake or rolls for an encounter, we can easily blame Dinkar for it.

Re: OOC THREAD

Hello all. I’ll be Playing Grog, the 10 year old goblin wise kid. He’s an odd kid, borderline feral after having lived with and learned from nothing but the city’s animals and critters into the gang picked him up. So very animalistic in his behaviour, but at the same time generally very calm and at peace with life. Much like an animal, He doesn’t really think ahead much, just Living in the now. Also not being much of an Alpha, He is generally content with following the lead of the others. Although He does speak very honestly and bluntly about his opinions, and tests limits at times as any proper pack member would.
The Oddest thing about him, though is his at times weirdly wide variety of knowledge and suprisingly large vocabulary, hinting at a past with much education. It only shows at times, though. And he generally doesn’t talk about his past. Mostly he just acts like 50% little brother and 50% stray dog.

Having someone to blame does sound fun, but Jaffa's probably going to forgive that?

And hello, Grog! Good to meet you!

Re: OOC THREAD

Now the Big question is, should I just make an IC post with Grog arriving, and go with him already being part of the group, or is He perhaps one of the things you find on your trip? Either works for me, since I can see you kinda already have the Ball Rolling in the IC thread. So it’s what you guys prefer.

I lean toward Grog already being part of the group, but will let y'all outvote me if you wish.

Re: OOC THREAD

I've got no problem with you already being in/with Dinkar's harem, Grog. I don't believe we've said anything yet that would make it impossible for you to be there.  But I honestly don't have a specific preference myself.

Got one now. Basically that face but younger. It was either that or standard goblin faces, which look a bit too evil for what I’m going for.
