Alright, profile picture chosen! This looks more like an alligator, but the two other closest options were obviously older and either Yuan-Ti or Red. I'll stick with the cartoon alligator for now!

Since Jaffa is a little kid kobold (and a nice one), I have no problem with this profile pic.

So... first I'll see whether our mutual nigh-indestructible friend wants in on the ground floor of this game or not. One I get that question answered, I'll place an ad for this game.

Hello! Nice to see ya, Dinkar!

Hi, Jaffa! Nice to know that whatever else happens, there'll be someone around my height.

Honestly, you might be a liiiittle taller than I am, depending on ages. Halflings are generally taller than us Kobolds, if I'm remembering correctly? Still, we're not too far apart!

I'm thinking Dinkar is on the younger end of the spectrum, maybe eight or nine.

Jaffa's pretty much exactly in the middle, at 10. Kind of, maybe, possibly trying to start working towards being mature.

So, do we already know each other when the game opens, or do we still need to meet?

Either way, we should probably come up with some reason why Jaffa would tolerate Dinkar. He can be kind of a jerk.

I was thinking y'all would already know and accept one another.

The two getting along would probably be easier if they'd known each other for a while, though we could always go the way of butting heads at first before becoming friends. Maybe Dinkar got hurt at some point? (skinned knee or cut his finger in an attempt to do magic?) Jaffa might've forced her way into his life to help him recover, even if they aren't quite friends yet. Or maybe they lucked out into friendship when some bully called them both names (Dink and Redspot, respectively) and they became allies through that. "That", in this context, definitely doesn't mean getting petty revenge, no sir-ee.

My revenge is never petty. It's grand.

Either idea works, but the first one probably works better. Someone who helps him for no other reason than she can do it would definitely start to break through his barriers.

Ah, my apologies! I didn't mean to lessen the sheer scale that is your grand revenge! :)

There's always the option of doing more than one as well. Different events can come together to shape a friendship. Maybe the healing event to start with, but then they bond through petty/grand revenge. Who knows, maybe Dinkar could steal a Jaffa Cake as thanks, if that's not too far out of character?

It's entirely within character. He's going to have difficulty expressing feelings of gratitude or friendship, but if he can make some sort of gesture without having to say anything, he'll definitely go that route.

If the gesture can be accomplished through theft or violence, even better.
