Your character went to school with uber-Geek Bernie Robinson during the 90s. Accordingly, you were a bit of a geek yourself, immersed in the movies, tv shows, video games, and cartoons of the era. This was, of course, over 20 years ago, and you've since grown up.

So! Your character:
  • Is probably between 38 and 42, though we can stretch this a bit if you were one of Bernie's other friends younger or older siblings and knew him that way
  • Had a middle-class American upbringing, going to a school somewhere in the suburbs, though you can have easily been an exchange student
  • Have a career, family, life - this is non-negotiable. You might feel adrift and out of place, but you do fit into the world and have goals and ambitions unrelated to the game's plot
  • Was a Geek, or Geek adjacent. You had at least some interest in 90s pop culture, or you wouldn't have tolerated hanging out with Bernie. Maybe you left it all behind, maybe you made it your career.
  • Are fairly ordinary, from an ordinary world. Which is to say: nothing too exotic or supernatural. Nobody too used to adventure or combat; if you were active duty military it wasn't special forces or anything like that, it was a long time ago and your skills have probably atrophied. You are unprepared!

Despite the above, you should aim for interesting. Normal people can be interesting. Play games to escape from your own mundane life? Play a different kind of mundane. Maybe you own a small business. Or are cheating on your spouse. Or are a B-list actor. Or a stage magician! Or just "the cool dad" at every picnic, be creative.

To Request to Join:

1. Give me about a paragraph telling me what you want to play.
2. Tell me if you're familiar at all with FATE. It's fine if you aren't.
