Vociferation:
Me too, I had a plan for you guys to be on your way then it changed, had another plan and that changed. My most recent one hasn't changed yet, so will see, yet is the key word here. Istvan seems like a cool guy, how did you come up with the idea?
Well since you asked...
I suppose it started with my very first RPol God Game I ever played in, which I think was called
Lords of Creation. I decided my god put the stars in the sky, so was the god of the sky... and then, since he was god of the sky, and since treetops count as being in the sky (if you're on the ground), he made bird people (basically aarakocras) which he called Swifts, and became the god of Freedom, too (because they could fly).
I didn't have a name so I started rearranging the letters of CREATION and got Noric. It sounded good, like something you could teach a parrot to pronounce without much trouble.
Most swifts were dull colors, but I made the clerics Cardinals (ha ha) and the rangers blue jays... I think there was something about paladins being green parakeets or something (there's a type of green parakeets called "monk parakeets")...
Names among the Swift are all just whistle-song, like the rest of their birdsong language. Istvan's Swift name translates as "Wistful Tune." But when they go out among non-Swifts they take names like non-Swifts have. Non-Swifts called Wistful's father Vano Djangoson (because they'd called his father Django someone's-son), so now among non-Swifts he's Istvan Vanoson.
So that's the story of Istvan Vanoson//Wistful Tune, cleric of Noric, god of the Sky (including tall trees), and Freedom (CG).
