Camara:
Near the bottom of the sheet I sent everyone are all the languages and regular speakers.

Thanks, Camara! Tons of stuff there I will have to look through.

Okay, I'm lost where I am IC.  If there was a PM for a roll or something I missed it.

Re: OOC: The Tavern

You made that giant speech to the people of the town. While you would've had to make a roll, Morton pretty much ended that with the Dragon and scaring them away. However, I didn't want you to feel like your speech was in vain.

Apologies for potentially screwing up things for people who made speeches..... Got a bit exited and carried away.... Should have held off to allow you to make your rolls.... Me bad...

Must do better next time

Well I'm lost because I don't know if Serafina is a victim of the illusion or not, I'm not worried about the roll

lol I Crit Failed it anyway, I'm sure these people don't trust me a bit now

Anyway I'm not worried about it, it's just my style, I try to engineer these big, coordinated approaches but A) they never work anyway and B) no one ever listens LOL

But...But...But he's trying to draw the goblins to him instead of the rest of you. And he's raging. Barbarians don't HOLD!

LOL! Mostly kidding.

I feel like this would be Jackdaw on seeing the Ogre:

Roll your smarts. On a success you know the illusion is fake.

Re: OOC: The Tavern

In reply to Jackdaw (msg # 94):

Yeah,  but I'm trying to keep whoever goes to fight the Ogre from dying, because the problem in Savage Worlds is all those little minions are Gang Up Bonus, and that means that big guy can have a solid +2 or more to hit constantly and that's killer.

It's not always the right call to charge together because of AoE effects and stuff like that, but I figure this time it is worth trying.

This is true the new pathfinder system is a beast. They added some special bonuses to monsters that allow them to scale. Part of the testing ground for me is figuring out just how powerful the team really is.

So throwing incredible monsters and things at you to see if you can beat them or if they beat you is the game. Helps me tweak the real encounters later.

Re: OOC: The Tavern

It definitely take some "feel" but there's a few things to check -

Ignoring the effects of aces (and I do that just to make the math simple):

What is the probability that the characters can actually hit the enemy.
What is the probability that the characters can generate enough damage to actually hurt the enemy.
What is the probability the characters can resist or deal with the enemy's special abilities.
Can the characters use their unique, non quantifiable capabilities to deal with the encounter.

I have found 2 Extras per 1 WC is generally kind of "fair", and the more you scale each of these up or down the more you tweak whether it's hard and what's hard about it specifically.

Re: OOC: The Tavern

Normally that would be the case but now they have two or three monster rules that sway that unfairly in the monsters in their favor which I love. :)

Re: OOC: The Tavern

Soooooo....question. Wild Attack makes you Vulnerable (which is +2 to attacks vs Jackdaw I think?) until the end of your next turn, right? So. Unfortunately. Unless the Ogre has a penalty or something...I think he hits Jackdaw. Unfortunately.

If he had NOT held, then it wouldn't matter. <mock-glares at Ms. Tactician Serafina>

Snap. Your right. I forgot that you wild attacked.

This falls under the house rule Bank makes error in your favor. So in this case he did miss.

OOC: The Tavern

My old group called that a Tibbit. Named after the race of a character named Charlax that went into a kobold warren and was hammered to 1 hit point when the player finally remembered the species could only be hit by +1 weapons.

He then proceeded to shred every kobold in the place, but whenever a player or GM forgets something that would have been in their favor, it's a Tibbit moment.

In reply to Morton Slumber (msg # 107):

Nope. You can take an action also but Menzar is also trying to sneak out the backdoor. I could be wrong but that's what I got from his post. As such he may scare the dog.

But you are free to roll using whatever you would like to do before hand.

Menzar, you forgot your d6 Wild Die. It's only a critical fail if both your trait and wild die come up 1.

OOC: The Tavern

You might want to read Savage Worlds Adventure Edition then. There are subtle but significant changed between it and the previous Explorer's Edition, so there are a lot more changes since you last played.
