Some attacks limit your defensive choices. With Heroic Charge, you're not allowed to parry with the attacking weapon (or retreat). I see that you specified +2 damage, which lines up with Heroic Charge.

The defensive roll unfortunately would have failed whether you had parried or dodged, unfortunately.

One thing you can consider adding is Retreating and/or Feverish Defense to improve defenses.

Char sheet is pretty much done (just got to buy  minor things like a shield and a bar of soap).
But happy to be introduced whenever it works for you..

Gah, sorry, guys! There are so many things that can make it difficult for me to post. Now that I'm working online more, I tend to focus more on work than RPOL.

And yes, Angharad, each roll for Minor Healing counts as a try, whether it's a success or a failure. It's covered under the GURPS FAQ for 4th edition: https://www.sjgames.com/gurps/faq/FAQ4-4.html/#SS4.4.1

The crippling rules are harsh, but once you're completely healed (at full health), the temporary crippling will be healed.
