Chapter 4b: Party Split

''I'm still a lady, sides, I got some Human in me. Grandma was one, so I do got some tit,'' Jhank informed the man. As she unbuckled her vest with her right hand she grabbed a dagger with her left. She was behind Dodger in seconds, griping him in a headlock easily as she was taller, making sure to dig her claws into his shoulder, and a dagger pressed to his throat. ''Make a move or sound and I'll kill you,'' she hissed in his ear. ''There's rope in my bag. Tie 'em will you?'' Jhank addressed Andro, not taking her eyes of her prey.

Chapter 4b: Party Split

Jhank sprang her ambush all at once, and had the man-rat in a headlock with a dagger to his throat!  Andromeda was momentarily stunned by the sudden threat of violence, and by how admirably cool Jhank was.  The druidess scrambled to disarm the rat-man, then went for the rope to inexpertly bind Dodger's hands.  She said shakily, "Best to do as she says and make no fuss, mister Dodger.  I'd hate to see you get eaten!"

Dex check + Guidance to disarm and bind Dodger, assuming he complies:
  • 11:37, Today: Andromeda rolled 12 using d20+2+d4.  Dex check + Guidance.

If he doesn't comply, I have something else in mind to do instead ;P

Dodger: "Dammit, not again."

He willingly complies with everything, thoroughly intimidated. You both sense a smell that you didn't notice from him before.

Chapter 4b: Party Split

Andromeda relaxed visibly when the wererat agreed to comply, though she still trembled from the nerves.  She gestured to the way back toward the goblin market and said with more confidence than she felt, "You've a good hold, Jhank?  Come along, quickly now!"

As they moved it occurred to Andromeda that they would need to pass back through the very public goblin market with their prisoner in tow, past the goblin guards.  Probably they ought to have planned for that!  Andromeda asked Dodger on the way, "What do you mean, 'not again'?"  The druidess was beginning to feel bad for kidnapping this poor, stinky wererat (again) when he'd only wanted to party.

If the kidnappers made it back to the entrance to the goblin market Andromeda would look around for Travic, Onyx, and Devan and gesture frantically for them to come over!

Intending to move the prisoner through 1a to the market in 1d to reconvene with allies, then go for the southern door toward the intersection at 8.

Dodger summarizes his story of woe, "Ehh, pretty girl dupes me into a dark alley and WHAM! She doesn't care about me. One bite! That's all it took and now I'm a wererat. Sucks. Werewolves are pretty cool, I even heard of a wereshark! But nah, I'm a wererat now. Promise me you aren't gonna kill me and I'll come along quietly."

He follows you back to 1a and then 1d.

Chapter 4b: Party Split

Onyxclaw follows King Yek into area 1b...

Seven goblins are erecting a stage against the north wall of this 20-foot-high chamber using wood stolen from elsewhere in Undermountain. The stage will be quite large when it's finished but is still in the preliminary stages of assembly. A pile of wrecked wooden furniture lies in the area's northwest corner.

King Yek is holding up a scroll on which is drawn a crude blueprint of a stage. "It's coming along boys, looking good so far. Good work good work." Yek then turns the blueprints upside down, "Oh wait...no, no you're doing it all wrong..."

He turns and looks right at Onyxclaw. "Hallo there! What do you think of my stage so far? Go up there and walk around on it, see if it's sturdy..."

If you do, dex save dc12 or you step on a nail. 2 piercing damage. If you step on a nail, Con save dc12 or you hop around cuz your foot hurts, if you do that you fall through the stage, 4 bludgeoning damage.

The kobold looks at the king  then the stage. He shakes his head and speaks. "Mr King...onyxclaw good build." He looks at the plan with a hammer, then the stage. He pointed to the right. "Picture good plan. Too high there. keep that, will fall. people die - not good. Bring down half goblin height....be stable."

He looked at the materials. "Big wood heavy....make strong stage."

Chapter 4b: Party Split

The King claps his hands and shouts at the goblin construction crew, "You heard Onyxclaw! He's in charge now, I'm too busy to stand here all day making sure you all do a good job!"

Then he turns to you, "If you need anything come see me in (area 1f), you're the boss now. When the stage is perfect I'll pay you one hundred gold."

then he leaves the room.

The goblins all look at Onyxclaw in awe like he's Albert Einstein. Typically kobolds and goblins do not get along, but today you're the boss.

Re: Chapter 4b: Party Split

Andromeda noticed the owl following the whole time, and then it even nodded!  A magical familiar, for certain.  It seemed friendly, so she had to hope it belonged to one of their allies...

Andromeda's shoulders slumped as Dodger shared the tragic deception that led to his curse... a deception that she herself was now reenacting!  "Don't be too hard on yourself, Dodger.  Wererats have the potential to be just as 'cool' as any other lycanthrope, I think.  If you were to clean up a tad and perhaps invest in some rakish swashbuckler garb, you could cut quite the figure!"  This was probably making it worse.  Why was she comforting a prisoner?

After about 5 minutes Onyxclaw can relax seeing that the goblins are actually doing what he told them correctly. Goblins aren’t necessarily smart, but they can follow orders. Perhaps they are just a reflection of their leaders….

Chapter 4b: Party Split

a young female goblin named Grilda asserts her position as Onyxclaw’s assistant, getting him whatever he asks for (within reason).

The only problem is that whenever Onyxclaw says “jump” none of the giblins ask “how high” and instead just jump.

The kobold nodded, internally not liking the slavery part, but his passion for building won out. "Sturdy stage....holds well. Could hold ogres now."

He avoided the topic of slaved as the goblins, smiling, swung on the ropes. "Not play time....tie ropes on edge. Yes, there.....no, better knot. Around two times then over."

He looked at Grilda. "You smart. learn what I do. Grilda go far. Goblin king right hand you be."

Chapter 4b: Party Split

Grilda raises her right hand to give Onyxclaw a high five...er...she has only four fingers. And Onyxclaw probably only has 3 or 4, depending on the kobold anatomy he chose...anyway not the point. They are bonding.

But when everything was just about perfect, just moments from being finished, all the goblins stopped working and started goofing off. Some had moonshine. Others played catch with a gnome skull that had it's jaw removed.  Some where...oh gosh, I'm embarrassed to even say it...some were peeing off the stage, competing for who could go the farthest.

Grilda grunted, "UH...boss? You gotta beat someone up to get everyone back to work. That's what King Yek always do."

Chapter 4b: Party Split

Onyxclaw went to high five when the goblins started to goof off. The kobold narrowed his eyes with a draconic smile. He looked around and spotted the biggest goblin of them all.

When the goblin was roying around, he had an idea for an arrow that could knock someone over. He had altered the head so it wasn't sharp, and though it still hurt, the damage wasn't permanent.

He loaded one of the bolts He altered and taking aim, he shot at the biggest goblin there.

The bolt flew, slamming into its chest and knocking him over, coughing and panting. The kobold casually loaded his Crossbow again and looked at the group

"No time for fun! Finish job then play." He held the hand Crossbow in one hand and his hand up in the other, a sound of bubbling coming from the glove and belt.

"Work....or next die"

<OOC: time to teach them I'M boss!
