Re: IN-GAME THREAD

Telric Televenter:
In reply to The GM (msg # 802):

Telric stopped thinking rationally. Instead he dived between the creatures legs, and ran to the other side of it. Distracting the massive humanoid away from the rest of the group.

"Boy, am I dummy..." he muttered to himself.

Ooc-17:50, Today: Telric Televenter rolled 7 using 2d6+3 with rolls of 3,1.  Defy Danger.

Using defy danger to keep the creature occupied and unable to attack...maybe.

The giant monster blinks with surprise at the little snack running between its legs, and it cranes its neck back and to the side (its neck is so muscular that it takes a little effort to look at an angle like that) at what just happened.

Oh, there's the snack.

The giant lifts up one foot to stomp the snack so it'll stop running around...

(Translation: Telric has bravely and successfully distracted the giant from the rest of the party, but that means now it's focused on him. Specifically: harming him.

Anyone wanna try to save him...?)

Re: IN-GAME THREAD

While perhaps not the most effective way to capitalize on the distraction Big Eye does what he usually does, hit it with the Big stick.

In this case he ends up swinging at the back of the leg the giant is standing on, not quite hitting the vulnerable knee.

The giant roars in surprise and pain and falls on his butt.

Then he slaps Big Eye away from him.

(10:20, Today: The GM rolled 4 using 2d3 with rolls of 1,3.  Giant slap.

Big Eye's bearskin cloak soaks up one damage, so Big Eye takes 3 damage, and is knocked down and several yards away from the giant.)

Re: IN-GAME THREAD

Shaken, but not stirred, Big Eye rolls over his shoulder and back up to his feet as he lands, and charges back into the fight with his club raised high.  Bringing it down on the giants foot with a bone breaking sound.

Re: IN-GAME THREAD

Rushing to follow Xan (and the dragged Telric) to cover, Renata slipped out her trusty crossbow, loading a bolt. It likely wasn't much against a giant, but she had to do something! She took aim and fired.

Renata Medb rolled 10 using 2d6 with rolls of 6,4.  Please hit them in the eye! Volley, with Agile.
--On a 10+, you have a clear shot—deal your damage (see Gear, below).

Renata Medb rolled 5 using 1d6 with rolls of 5.  Crossbow damage.

Re: IN-GAME THREAD

The giant roars when his foot is smashed, and then what's worse is that Renata manages a shot to his eye as he's going down.

He falls back into his crater... his other foot smashes into Xan as he goes, but she's tough, she's only a little damaged. (Xan takes 1 damage-- yes, even accounting for all her armor.)

Then the giant tries to climb out again-- but since he puts weight on his foot once more, he just roars in agony and just falls again.

(Wanna run away now before he figures out to try and crawl out, or stay and try to finish 'im off?)

Never one to give up on success when already on a roll Big Eye continues his charge in the direction of the giant's fall to bring his club down on its skull, cracking it hard against the ground even as it was trying to get up.

(15:43, Today: The GM rolled 4 using 2d2 with rolls of 2,2.

Big Eye takes 3 new damage (accounting for armor).)

The giant thrashes around for just a second, smacking Big Eye fairly hard, but then lies still.

(He's unconscious if you want, or dead if you want-- I'll leave it up to you!

If the former, he'll be out for hours. If the latter... much, much longer than that.)

In reply to Xan (msg # 814):

"I'm...I'm ok." Telric said, shocked he had not been stomped flat. Was he scared? He supposed he was. He always thought Ghouls saw death, real death, as a release. After all, they where not alive. Yet, Telric did not want to die...for some reason. "Thank you, Xan. You should not have done that...but, thank you anyways." He said, patting the girls metal hair.

Then he headed over to Big Eye, remembering how much punishment his friend had suffered. "Are you ok!? Say something!" He said, checking over the Ogre's wounds. Now he felt real fear....

Re: IN-GAME THREAD

Despite being buffeted by the flailing giant Big Eye maintains his focus and brings the club down not once more, but twice, on the immobile skull.  The first impact is still a cracking crunching sound but the second has a lot more squish to it and freeing the club takes some time and more than a little gore with it, clearly ending the giant's existence permanently.

”Better now.”

Re: IN-GAME THREAD

Renata winced at the chunky sight of what had, moments prior, been a terrifying giant. Big Eye was very strong indeed, even after taking hits like that. Getting used to death out here was a necessity hard enough when the dead were as small as her and her friends. Here, she could see every squishy, bloody, disgusting detail. Maybe it was best to focus on something else.

"Sorry for missing that one, everyone."

"Really big." Renata nodded, trying not to stare at the giant. Yup, yup, yup, huge corpse, everything's fine, let's focus on Xan, don't look at the giant. "I'm glad we're all still okay, for the most part. How are you holding up, Xan?"

Re: IN-GAME THREAD

Telric looks on with relief at One Eye's apparent healthy condition. However, he saw the large bruises the giant had put on his slightly shorter-by-comparison friend. "Alright, Big Eye needs rest, and Xan needs repairs. We need to get away from the corpse, as he will be attracting all manner of scavengers. The good news is anything with hunting senses knew not to come into this territory in the first place.

So we just need to travel a short distance and the stink will draw any such predators away from us. We should be able to rest without any interruptions, as the 'meal' we provided should keep them happy and fed for at least a day, maybe more."
He pointed out. "Are you ok to Travel?" He asked Big Eye.

Re: IN-GAME THREAD

Although obviously battered Big Eye doesn't look any more broken than he has been before.  Putting his big club back on its loop over his shoulder he shakes his hands a bit to check their range of motion then nods to Telric to affirm his readiness.

”All good.”

Re: IN-GAME THREAD

Telric nods, and gestures for the team to follow. He manages to find a partly collapsed building. The main entrance blocked by rubble, but very stable. The opening is small enough for someone the size of Xan, or flexible enough like Telric. Ghouls can bend thier bodies in disturbing ways after all.

Despite only half the party able to get inside, Telric gestures to what he found before Xan and he enter. A Celler door, iron bound from the outside. Telric however knew the locks from when he still drew breath. Once inside, he could open the door to the cellar from the inside. Allowing Big Eye and Renata to descend safely down into the celler. Then Telric could re-lock the doors, making entrance from any outside creature very unlikely.

Familiar with and content to not understand Telric's twisty ways Big Eye waits patiently to be let in to the safe place.

Once inside he curls up on the bear skin cloak and falls quickly into a restful sleep from which he awakens fully refreshed several hours later

Re: IN-GAME THREAD

Telric, as per normal for ghouls, can sleep standing up. He does not care to when a bed is available, but one often not given Big Eye and his travelling trade. Ghouls also where very light sleepers, as any noise could rouse them from their dormant state in order to attack. Granted most of Telric's 'attacks' where verbal complaints about how loud everyone was, but other ghouls where much more...direct.
