The notes give you the an address in a slightly nicer section of the fallen district.

You approach the address and can easily spot the guards lounging outside,  as you get closer they move to block your way, but a gruff voice calls out "She's invited you blockheads, don't you ever listen" and the compact figure of Sgt stonecutter stomps out from the building glaring at his fellows.

"Ms Scarmiglione, thank you for agreeing to help"

"Not a problem," Dei said.

"I hope you have a strong stomach its not pretty inside" Sgt Stonecutter said "Brace yourself and we can head in, I'm not going to say too much more. I don't want to bias you"

Dei nodded, steeling herself.

Sgt Stonecutter leads you into the building.  The first thing that strikes you is the smell, the cloying overly sweet smell of death.

He leads you towards a room and points inside, "he was found in there" he said and waited for you to walk in.

Inside the room there was a bloody spot on the floor, and streaks on the wall, whatever had happened it wasn't a clean death. Daubed on one wall was a symbol  that Dei recognised drawn in blood a large eye surrounded by smaller ones crude lettering underneath in a language Dei didn't recognise.

"Damn, it is them," Dei said. "This is the symbol of that damn house."

"House?" Stonecutter asked "what do you mean?"

"There's this so called house full of murderers and thieves with Abba-rent dragonmarks callin' themselves House Tarkanan. This thing in blood is their symbol," Dei said.

"That's not good, any idea why they b would have been after this guy?" Stonecutter asked.

"I figure it's 'cause I've been causing them some grief and they figured this guy was connected to me," Dei said.

Stonecutter was about to reply when there was a crash from the next room.

Dei went to investigate.

You enter the room it seems to have been a pantry of some description, it looks like it's been ransacked.

Several items are broken on the floor and look like they've been there for a while. But there is what smells to be a freshly broken bottle of alcohol.

Dei began to search the room.

At first you don't find anything, but then in a dark corner you spot a pair of glowing eyes watching you, and then it leaps towards you.

Dei flinched back.

It was the wizards familiar looking shaken and slightly ethereal as if it wasn't properly anchored to this plane.

"Aw. Poor thing. I'm sorry this happened. I'm gonna make sure they pay for this," Dei said.

The familiar bumped it's head against your hand, and gave a low meow at you.

Dei gave the cat a pet.

"This just ain't fair..."

The familiar moves away from Dei, looks at her and meows and then moves a bit further and repeats the actions.

Dei followed.

The familiar leads you up stairs, and to the back of a room and then sat by the wall and tapped a section of the wall.

Dei goes to check what it is.

It takes a few tries but you are able to pop a hidden panel open, inside there is a waxed pouch.
