The Case of Familiar Thief: The Fallen Slums

As you move into the alley way, the first thing that strikes you is the smell unless you miss your guess the alley way has a particular use for at least some of the locals. You try to not think too much about what is under foot as you move down the alley.

Ahead the familiar turns around the corner ahead of you, for a moment it looks like it glances in your direction and then its gone from sight.

It's a very undignified scramble, that involves a lot of cursing and slipping but you eventually manage to haul yourself up the wall and tumble over the sill and into the dimly lit room.

Only Silence answers you, the room appears to have been a bedroom at one time.

A very Dilapidated bed sits against one wall, filling the wall with a faint smell of mildew, the paint on the walls is scratched and peeling. The door that appears to lead out to a hallway is hanging on its hinges.

After pausing your movement and listening intently for a few moments, you can make out some faint banging sound as if someone was dropping items from a height to the floor comes echoing in from the hallway, it seems as if it's coming from a lower level of the building.

You head out into the hallway, and spot the stairs that lead to the lower level. You quickly descend and can now hear a voice.

"How could you lead her hear?" the voice says "Now we will have to move on and start again.. I can only take the best items, not this one.. Tell me if you spot her"

As the voice trails off and the banging resumes you spot the cat familiar poke its head out a door.

The familiar gives an yowl of alarm as you charge forward into the doorway, inside a figure wearing dirty robes suddenly spins to face towards you, his eyes widen in his dirty face and his mouth drops in surprise "Who.. what are you?" his hand darts towards pocket as he speaks.

You quickly manage to gather up the various items he had stolen, and even get a bag to hold them all, by the time you are done the wizard is standing resignedly in the corner "It's all over.." he mutters to himself, as the cat familiar rubs against his legs and glares at you.

"I'm not gonna be cruel, despite ya being ruder than a bandit at a tea party," Dei said as she was going through the items looking for the necklace and any other bits the agency was looking for. "I'm just gonna take what I'm lookin' for and turn ya in for the theft. Yer familiar can then hide the rest for when yer released."

The Case of Familiar Thief: The Fallen Slums

The wizard puts the cat down and it picks up the wrapped bag and vanishes out the door with a flirt of its tail.

He then turns and sighs "Yes, Grick will be fine till I can get to him again" he said "Maybe I'll be lucky and just get away with a fine"
