Carefully, Dei gets up to investigate.

Inside the pouch you find a small medallion engraved on one side is a single large eye seeming made of onyx and inlaid with gold, surrounded at the edge by a series of smaller eyes all looking in different directions. There is also a small bit of parchment with a single phrase written in infernal "They watch in Darkness"

That's odd...Dei pocketed the amulet for now, she headed downstairs to get food for herself and Freddy.

You make your way down to the kitchen, Old Man Ferg is behind the bar as usual and nods as you head towards the kitchen.

The fires have been lit but Karesh doesn't appear to be about, you are easily able to make something for yourself and your guest.

Dei set about making some potato hash.

"How are ya doin' this mornin'?" she asked Ferg.

Ferg smiled at you or at least as close to a smile as he seemed capable.
"A'm braw, how urr ye? ye seemed tae hae fun company fur th' evenin" he rumbled in reply as he polished the bar top.

"I'm good. Real good," Dei said as she cooked. "I like him, I think I'll keep him around."

Ferg nods "Tis guid ye'v fun someone, bit nobles kin be trouble mind. Watch yersel, a dinnae wantae see ye git hurt"

Dei's mind was racing.

"If'n you'll pardon me, but you seem to be sayin' that Freddy's a noble."

Fer shrugged "A'm juist an auld barman, so a'm likelie reading him wrong. But he carries 'I'm self like a laird" he shook his head "Ach dinner pay nae attention to old Ferg, he's jus speculatin'"

Dei laughed.

"Ah, c'mon Ferg, ain't no way a noble'd be interested in little ol' me."

Ferg lay a reassuring hand on Deis shoulder "Yer tae hard on yersel', yer a bonny 'n' talented lassie, a man Laird or no, would dream of catching yer eye" he then made a shooing gesture "No' gae back tae 'im. An be oot o' the kichten before Karesh spots ye main a mess o' the place"

Dei dished up the hash and grabbed a kettle for tea before heading back upstairs, but not before giving Ferb a kiss on his metal cheek.

"Ya sure know how ta cheer a gal up."

Ferg waves you off and returns to his work, when you return to your room Freddy seems to have only just woken "I was being to feel like last night was a dream" he said "A beautiful dream" he smiled at you as you presented the food "I am glad to see it was not"

Dei went redder than normal.

"Ya sure know how to flatter a gal."

Freddy smiles and gets up to help Dei, he's wearing very little after the nights activities "It's not flattery if it's true" he said as he helped to make space for them  to eat.

"Yer different than most of the men that come through here. I'd like to keep this goin'," Dei said.

Freddy looks a little startled and then thoughtful "I think I would like that" he said finally "I would like that a great deal" and the he paused and looked down at his feet "But first I must be honest with you" he held up his hands "Not that I've lied to you, I've just not told you everything"

He sighed and ran his hand through his hair "When you asked me my name. I said my friends call me Freddy. Which is true as far as it goes. But others would call me Lord Fredrick d'Deneith of House Deneith" he said holding up his hand and manifesting his dragon mark.

"Would you still have me knowing that?"

Dei stood there.

"Huh? Yer...yer a noble? Huh? And yer interest in me?" she asked slowly, trying to work things out. "Um, yes, I mean...I would. Yer really sweet and kind, but this don't feel real."

Freddy nodded "Yes, and yes" he said stepping up to her and gently putting his arms around her "You are Beautiful, any man would be over the moon to hear you say you want them" he said into her hair.

"I was, I think, lost till fate brought me here" he said moving to kiss her "I do have to be back at the offices, but I have some time, maybe I can prove to you how real this is?" he suggested with a wicked smile as he led her back towards the bed.

"S-sure," Dei said, letting him pull her along.

---some time later---

Freddy dresses and preparesheads for the door "I'll come to visit again soon" he said kissing the back of Dei's hand "Do you sing every night?"

"Yeah, after I'm done working at the agency," Dei said.

Freddy nodded "Beautiful and multi-talented" he said with fond smile and headed off.

It was soon time for Dei to head into the offices.

Dei got ready for work and headed in. Heart still beating fast.
