Ocean hears the request to check on Aron, "Will do if any can point the way."  she says as she is not seeing him in her range of vision but moving to a point where she hopes she can spot him.  Keeping the eyes open all the way.

(Moves to p30 unless something else appears that prevents this and looks around from there planning on moving to Aron if spotted.)

Re: The Android's Abode

Katrina wraps her legs around Kartargo's neck and begins to pull. Her large frame bulging as the bugbear gurgs, "Wait! Noo." This is then followed by incomprehensible gurgling before a sickening crunch can be heard. The body twitches within it's bonds as the body's involuntary system lances out trying to save itself before finally laying still. The jaw twitches a few times, gasping for breath as the eyes go wide in disbelief before it finally falls still. Kartargo is dead.

After a few seconds, the flying robot is finally taken down. It was annoying as it sprayed Moonlight again and was able to repair itself one more time, but the combined efforts of three on one doesn't allow it to really continue functioning.

Ocean wanders out into the back area as can just make out the prone form of Aron. Coming over to the android, she sees that not only has Hairling's fire burned a hole through him, it seems Kartargo was also pulling out circuitry and other pieces from the artificial life form so as to make him inoperable. She has no idea what she can do or even if there is anything that can be done.

The party has won the day, but at what cost?

Once the annoying robot had finally been dealt with, Sylvia walked over to check on Aron. She stopped short when she saw the state he was in.

"Well, crap," she said, and looked at Ocean. "Is he dead?" She walked over to check on his body herself. "Didn't he say something about the town and the surrounding area maybe being destroyed?"

Sylvia:

Katrina looked at Sylvia. "I warned you..." she said. "However, I don't think the Hairling will be accessing anything around here any time soon, so the town is safe. The question is, what do we do with this place?" She looked around. "I have no idea what kind of scrap around here would be valuable, but I don't think we're getting paid."

Ocean was going to answer when asked but did not have the time so lets Sylvia announce it.  Still there is nothing to be done on her end save for one part.

"Can I heal anyone?"  She asks ready to use the last of her magic.  To the rest she does not care at the moment as there is literally nothing she can do.  That and she is saddened by the situation.

Re: The Android's Abode

Moonlight walks across to Katrina.  Looking at her he said.
Good call and well done.  He needed to die.
He then turns to the dead bugbear.
In The Clan we have the rights of procedure.  Nobody is above the rights of procedure.  Welcome to the truth of the right of might.  The truth is there is always someone or some group that going be mightier than you someday.  With the right of procedure everybody treated fairly and nobody has to be killed.  With right to might most people get killed one way or another.
Moonlight kicks the bugbears body.

He then walks over to Sylvia and looks at Aron.  He turns to Sylvia.
Don't give up.  Electric using creature have a way of being resurrected.  Even when totally dead I understand.  I think we should stay here.  Clean the place up and learn about the technology here.  I may be able to assist you with your studies of the place Syliva and maybe make some tools to help you fix the damage.  Get the place working properly.  Now we have base to work from.

Moonlight face lighten a little.
So what do you make Aron and how he is built?

OCC: Remember rule 11:
quote:
Eleventh: Healing outside of combat is always maximized. I justify this as you're taking the time to say the words just right or getting every drop out of that potion.

Sylvia is correct in her remembrance of past events, though Aron was very vague on what that danger was.

[Private to Sylvia: You know that artificial life forms like androids aren't technically living or dead. So long as their "brains" aren't destroyed, they can be repaired. At this point, you're not sure what you would need to do to fix him, but it is possible.]

Taking stock of the room, the bugbear has some rather advanced clothing that is both flexible and strong as hardened leather, it even has a reflective quality to it. She knows that this armor protects much like padded leather, but only weighs as much as simple clothing. It's reflective quality, however, makes energy attacks easier to deflect and has the ability to have a single advanced attachment attached to it. The rifle Ocean took from him is laser rifle that shoots an invisible beam of heat and it has enough energy inside of it for 7 more shots. He also carries a magical ring of feather falling, 3 garnets worth 50 gp each, and 124 gp. After looking over the gun that the smaller animan had for a moment, Sylvia realizes it a revolver and has 4 bullets out of 8 left in it. Now that she has the time to look over the arm she picked up, the realizes this is called a helping hand, though what it was called by the ancients is anyone's guess. It can be attached to armor that is from the ancients and used to either hold an item, like a potion or an extra weapon, ready for use or wield a two-handed weapon in one hand.

Looking about the room, there are several panels lining the back wall the blink in random patterns of blue, orange, red, yellow, and green. There's a large alcove that is just big enough for a single medium sized person to fit into. A door is attached and open to this alcove, but there's nothing else inside. Finally there are multiple tables set up with various tools and robot parts that looks much like the set up upstairs, but much more organized and better available tools.

OCC: The armor is +1 to AC and has and extra +2 when attacked by pur energy attacks, but it only weighs 2 lbs and 1 upgrade slot. The laser rifle is here: https://www.d20pfsrd.com/equip...weapons/#Laser_Rifle. The revolver info is here in this table: https://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment/weapons/firearms

Re: The Android's Abode

Moonlight looks at the items.
It seems unfair to ask this as this is the most valuable item we found.  But can I have the magical ring of feather falling.  It would allow me to fly more safely and do things I would not normally try.
I would in return pass over any other items we find in the future until each of you gained something of equal or greater value before asking for anything again.
Also I will be happy to lend it to any one of you at any time if you feel you doing anything that may need it's help.

Re: The Android's Abode

Ocean herself seems to lose it for a moment in her head as she seems to be sorting something out after the healing.  It could be the Nornkirth in her, it could be something that was just what it is.  Still it was a vision of sorts...As such she does not even really notice the question from Moonlight, "Sure, sure whatever is fine by me."  She says.  "Before we continue on I need to return to the town.  I have a calling that must be fulfilled."

Re: The Android's Abode

After sharing the information about all of the items with everyone, Sylvia sat down to examine Aron's body. She didn't seem bothered at all by the death of Kartargo, and shrugged at the suggestion that they wouldn't get paid. Moonlight's comments, however, earned a glance and a smile, and she nodded her agreement.

"Yeah," she said. "We should definitely stay. At the very least, I'd like to try to fix Aron..." She glanced over at Katrina "...especially so we can get paid."

In response to Moonlight's first question, however, her attention returned to the wires ripped out of Aron's chest, and she sighed. "This is going to take some time," she replied, and wandered over to the tables, picking and choosing among the tools, before returning to the body. To Ocean's distracted comment, she added a distracted nod of her own.

"Yeah, sounds good," she muttered, and it wasn't clear if that was in response to Moonlight or Ocean.

[Private to GM: Two questions:
1. Is Aron's "brain" intact -- best Sylvia can tell?
2. If it is, can she use Technomancy to understand better how he works as she attempts to (at least) get his head (brain, eyes, hearing, speech, etc) working so that she can talk to him?

Sorry for the simpleton questions -- this week has been a doozy!

Katrina nodded and divided the coins into four equal piles. "None of the items are especially interesting to me, but if we work together again, I'll be in the running for a good magical item," she said.

"Anyway, if we're going to use this place as a headquarters, we should probably finish exploring it and root out any more problems, and figure out how to stop the big bot upstairs."

Moonlight comes back to Katrina and the coins.
I will stay and help you each gain something of equip value.  He then place 2 gold coins from his pile next to everybody else's pile.  It seems to be some sort of important act.  Like a promise or a vow.

He then pics up the ring and looks at it before putting it on.

I would like to assist you in trying to fix Aron if you like my help Sylvia.  As for returning to town.  If you have a vow or promise to keep Ocean then it only right we help you full fill it unless it some..
He looks over at Ocean.  No I think that irrelevant.

Then looking back to Katrina.
If this is our home now we need to explore to totally and find all the room and hidden places.  Don't want to walk up in our sleep to find some metal creature trying to do something unspeakable to us.

Spoiler text: (Highlight or hover over the text to view)
There was an added bit I wanted to put in with Moonlight holding the ring up to the light and saying My Precises.  Strockign the ring and then laugh.   He then says Mum looks like I got my own ring powers.  Like the one in the book you read to me.  Which would be reference both lord of the rings and to another character who had read Tolkien in game with the same GM.  However I did not thing it really right to do that.

Re: The Android's Abode

The party takes about an hour getting things cleaned up in the lab, mainly disposing of Kartargo's body and picking up the robots for salvage. Aron's "brain" seems to be intact as far as Sylvia can tell, but how to repair him is beyond her abilities at this point. She will need a lot of time and parts to do the repairs, but, thankfully, she has the damaged robots laying about that she can salvage for parts. With the major threat dealt with, exploring the upstairs is quick as there was only one other room with three of the mismatched robots in and they are no match for the group. If there is anything of value in the rubble, it's going to take at least a month of work to clear the floors and sift through things.

OCC: I'm going to assume that there will be a short trip back to town to hire workers and let the camp know everything is complete, deal with the spider's den rolls, and letting the town know that whatever Aron was talking about has at least been handled for now. Anyone retraining will need to do that during this downtime. If you hire workers, the clean up time will take only 2 weeks, but you'll loose 20% of the treasure that's found and I'll need to know if y'all inform them of the lab or try to keep it a secret (aka die rolls). If y'all do it all yourselves, it'll take the month of everyone helping and thus retraining won't be an option. If there's anything I missed, or something else y'all wanted to do, just speak up.

Re: The Android's Abode

Back in town, Katrina spoke to the others over a mug of beer, once she'd recovered from the poison. "I think we should hire some workers to handle the work, if any of us have more important stuff to do. We can close off the lab and any areas we can't explore, and Sylvia and Moonsong can restore the lab personally since tech is their thing."

Katrina will use her position with the group to favor her family for the cleanup work (and thus any shares in the treasure). Nepotism, ho!

The party returns to the camp for Sylvia to collect her antivenom and then return to the lab. Earierwen and the others welcome them back and ask how it went. Aethed is sporting a wrap around her arm, but everyone seems in good spirits, though there is a few questions about where Aron is. The elf adept that was in charge of the camp offers the party a coin purse with a rock quartz, valued at 9gp, and 7gp, 5sp, and 5cp, the amount that was found in the spider's lair. They state that there was no other lairs found, but it did have a egg sac that they burned. There could be others out there, but for now, there aren't any nearby.

[Private to Sylvia: Roll a Craft (alchemy) check vs DC 25. If you succeed, you gain 1d4+ (1 per point over the DC)]

OCC: Okay, I'll give y'all the chance to post one more time while at the camp before I close this thread and archive it unless something needs to be addressed. Katrina, I will move your last post to the new thread once this one is complete. In either case, I will start the new thread either tonight or Sunday. Just depends on how late I work today and if I don't do a run Saturday. Things are picking up again, so I expect to do a linehaul run tomorrow.

]

Sylvia's nose wrinkled as she looked into the cauldron, then she sighed. "Too long without stirring," she said as she disposed of the contents and cleaned it.

She shrugged at Ocean, then nodded. "Come say hi once you're done. I mean, if you want to, that is. Moonlight's gonna help me figure stuff out."

She glared at Moonlight for a brief moment before rolling her eyes. "You shoulda told me I got yer name wrong."

"Anyway," she said, turning to Katrina, "you're gonna bring some folks to help spruce up the place, right? And you can herd 'em around the upper levels? Sounds good, sounds good."

OOC: Sylvia's preference would be to either allow those who braved to spider's den to keep the reward, or to use it to reimburse those who provided supplies and services for the base camp. Either way, she'd be willing to pitch in a bit of what they found on Kartargo -- even just from her share -- to get on the good side of the folks who helped them.

Giving her an oat meal cookie before she leaves.

He then turns to Katrina. Everybody has been kind enough to allow me the ring.  I am happy for you to divide up the rest of what we found as you want.  I will keep my promise to see you all have something as useful for yourselves as the ring is to me.

Then as he sets about getting things ready to go back to the tower with Sylvia he says
I am looking forward to helping you work out what secrets the tower holds.  It is why I am here.
As for my name.  Only my mother and my future wives will know my true birth name.  I am called Moonlight for my habit of staying up late and looking at the moon.  There is a text that nobody believes that says once we elves walked on the moon.  Only me and a few other crazy creatures believes it. But still we all have to have a dream.

Note:-
Moonlight also asks the group quietly if they think Earierwen the elf adept can be trusted to be allowed to visit the tower or not?

[Private to GM: Note the Wives.  If you remember in my last PM.  Elves of forest only stay married for 5 years - to raise children.  However I wonder if the others will misunderstand the meaning (he he).]
