The Android's Abode

Given that tomorrow is the big assault, everyone not on guard duty turns in why Aron and the others move to watch the area around them. Shortly after the sun goes down, the horses begin to whiny and snort.

Oops, I forgot to bump this thread when I changed it's group so y'all could see it.

Aron and the Cook on duty near the dying campfire look over at the horses unsure what it exactly means. Little can be seen in the darkness at this point, but the animals have been spooked by something.

Katrina (on first watch) didn't know what was going on, but she did know that horses didn't just randomly start spooking and snorting. She looked out over the darkened perimeter of the camp.

Prepared for bed Ocean spends the time sleeping as she does dreaming the night the way the night dreams.  She was semi sad she was not included in watch but then again with eyes like hers it was not entirely a good thing.  Mind you she could see in the dark and planned on discussing that with the group on watch the next day.  But for now might as well enjoy it!

Katrina looked over at one of the other guards. "The horses are acting up. I'm going to go check it out."

With that said, she carefully trod out around the horses' improvised paddock.

Aron also follows Katrina towards the horses. As he does so, he draws the ax off his back and remarks to the cook, "Perhaps you should stay here just in case this is a distraction." The cookie, a middle aged pure strain human male, pales a little in the fading light, but nods, loads his crossbow, and moves to the south east of the camp. One of the hunters, the one towards the north east also moves south to watch that side as the warrior to the west moves closer to the horses to back up Katrina and Aron.

Katrina and Aron look into the darkness, but can't really see what's got the horses so jumpy.

Katrina looked over at the warrior, thought for a minute, then spoke. "Please wake up Moonlight. We could use elven eyes on this."

"Right away," the warrior says with a nod and moves across the camp to the tent that Moonlight and one of the other warriors share. "Hey!" he says as he just gets to the tent flap, in a forced whisper, "the horses are acting up and Katrina needs you to try and look for whatever it is."

Moonlight and, whom I'm going to affectionately call Warrior #2, are now awake.

After the hunter leaves, Katrina hears one of the other hunters in the tent to her left start moving around in the tent and he calls out in his own forced whisper, "What's going on?"

Suddenly something flies out of the darkness and lands on the horse directly in front of Katrina causing it to whiney loudly, and, in response, causes the other horse to cry out in fear and pull on it's binding, but it is unable to pull free. The other horse launches violently a pulls both free of both the webbing and it's bindings and begins charging directly through the middle of the camp away from whatever just happened, just missing trampling Katrina by inches.

Hearing the horse thunder off, the other hunter on guard duty and the cook, both move to try to catch the horse before it can get to far.

This noise awakens the rest of the camp.

In a normal combat, I would call for initiative, but this is a little different as actions have already been taken. Normally, I would roll init for my monsters and then everyone else would roll to see if they go either before or after the creature(s). If they rolled before, they could post an action, otherwise they would have to wait. Then, once the creature(s) acted, everyone could just post their actions without worrying who's turn is was.

For this first round, Moonlight and the warrior with him can make their fully allocated actions as well as the other warrior that was woken up. Everyone else will need to spend a round waking up and grabbing their things, aka spell pouch, sword and shield, some other single item, before acting next round, unless you want to just get up and move outside your tent.

[Private to Katrina: You think what just landed on the horse is webbing. The source is ahead of you, but you still can't see what it is at this point. You could follow the webbing back if you'd like to.]

Moonlight grabs his items.  He takes his ever-burning torch and attaches it to some straps on his left boot.  The years of experience of the winged elf's meant they where prepared for flight in the dark.  Then bow in hand, Moonlight slowly rises into the air heading to a height of 30ft with the torch shining down on his left side.
Flying carefully towards the horses and that area of the camp looking down to spot the intruder.

The Android's Abode

Ocean stirs from her sleep in the shared tent she had and it is slow but it does happen.  She was not one that liked being roused but in case of something going on she does as she was told and draws the two daggers she keeps under her pillow.  Such was the luck of the training before her true calling was found.

(OOC - Not sure this will apply or not - A nornkith can always act in the surprise round)

Re: The Android's Abode

Sylvia peeked out of the tent she'd been sharing with Ocean.

"What in Nine He--" She stuttered to a stop as she saw the cook and one of the guards go chasing after the horse, and her eyes went wide with understanding. "Oh."

She stepped out of the tent and took a moment to look around as she tried to figure out what had happened.
